Chapter 1248 - 1248 0719 The Colored Glaze Sand is Lost_2

Chapter 1248: Chapter 0719: The Colored Glaze Sand is Lost_2 Chapter 1248: Chapter 0719: The Colored Glaze Sand is Lost_2 If it were any other place, Qi Tian would not harbor any illusions, but this is Saint’s Tomb, and the Teleportation Array appeared in a corner of the crypt, for the use of the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider. That being the case, the master of the Saint’s Tomb would certainly not allow the Teleportation Array to transfer the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider outside of the Saint’s Tomb. Theoretically speaking, the other end of the Teleportation Array should still be within the Saint’s Tomb, or even inside the Inner Underground Palace. Only in this way could the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider possibly continue to protect the safety of the Inner Underground Palace, preventing outsiders from wreaking havoc inside.

Qi Tian felt there was no problem with this line of thought, so he continued to ponder along these lines to determine where the other end of the Teleportation Array might be hidden. The first place that came to his mind was the coffin placed in the center of the Inner Underground Palace. That should be the most dangerous and secure place in the entire Saint’s Tomb. It seemed entirely logical to set up the other end of the Teleportation Array inside the coffin.

However, Qi Tian immediately dismissed this possibility. The master of the Saint’s Tomb must be exceedingly proud, and the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider was just a demon pet to him. How could he tolerate his demon pet staying with his bones? Putting aside the vast difference in status between them, would the tomb’s master not worry that the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider might act disrespectfully towards his bones?

There definitely was no chance inside the coffin, so it must be outside it. But if that were the case, the area of search would be much larger. Was it near the coffin or farther away from it? Even if Qi Tian were capable, he couldn’t turn the entire Inner Underground Palace upside down, not to mention some areas were inaccessible to him, such as the ground pressed by the coffin or the wall where the Millennium Corpse Water was found. Besides, no one had told him that the other end of the Teleportation Array must be set up within the Inner Underground Palace. It could also be in the Outer Palaces, and then, the area Qi Tian needed to search would not just double or triple in size, which meant it would take even longer, perhaps he might never find it.

Qi Tian thought it over and concluded that searching aimlessly like this had little meaning. It would be more practical to obtain one or two clues instead. In terms of familiarity with the Teleportation Array, aside from the tomb’s master, probably only its sole user would know more clearly.

Without a second thought, Qi Tian immersed his consciousness into the storage room of the Heavenly Dao Engine, projecting in front of the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider.

Under the deterrence of the Heavenly Dao Engine, the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider was crouching on the ground, curled up and shivering uncontrollably, daring not to make any superfluous movements.

When Qi Tian’s projection appeared, the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider’s compound eyes glanced over him. It did not take Qi Tian seriously. Currently, the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider knew it was in a dire situation, although it understood that its ultimate mission was to protect the Saint’s Tomb, now it might not even be able to save itself, let alone anything else.

Qi Tian did not waste time talking nonsense with the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider. He got straight to the point and offered the spider its freedom in exchange for the secrets of the Teleportation Array.

The Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider looked at Qi Tian with utter contempt. The other end of the Teleportation Array was filled with treasures, which were its resources for making a comeback. Unless it was out of its mind, why would it casually reveal its secrets to Qi Tian and destroy its own chances of resurgence? Besides, from its past experiences, brutally taught by reality, it learned not to easily trust anyone’s words. Otherwise, it could be cheated out of everything, and in the worst case, even its life might be at stake. It would not believe anything Qi Tian said.

Despite Qi Tian’s repeated communications and promises of many benefits, the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider remained unmoved. Qi Tian felt very passive and extremely angry.

After all the nice words, the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider still remained as unresponsive as a dead pig in boiling water. This infuriated Qi Tian to no end; he knew that a consistently conciliatory approach towards a captive would be futile, as it would only embolden the captive.

The Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider had formidable abilities, and deep down, Qi Tian truly hoped to subjugate it, but what Qi Tian needed was the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider’s submission to him, not to treat it like a lord.

Qi Tian’s expression gradually shifted from a full-faced smile to expressionless, and finally to one of anger. He coldly stared at the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider and said, “This is your last chance. If you still refuse to submit, then don’t blame me for being unkind.”

The Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider did not take Qi Tian’s threat seriously. Unlike the ghost faces, it had been subdued by the master of the Saint’s Tomb very early on. The master then nurtured it throughout its growth, making it a one-in-a-million Nascent Soul Stage magical beast. During this journey, it had witnessed how its master grew from a nobody into a figure of great stature.

Compared with its master, Qi Tian was but a tiny ant. Having once served a master so powerful, let alone the depth of their emotional bond, from its own standpoint of acceptance, it simply disdained the idea of submitting to such a trivial ant as Qi Tian.

The ghost faces, on the other hand, were different. They were all forcibly captured by the master during their lifetime and, through secret methods, transformed into ghost faces. Although they did submit to the master, it was more out of hatred. With this as a basis, Qi Tian was able to subdue them relatively easily. Now, to try and apply the same method he used on the ghost faces to it, the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider, was wishful thinking. It was not any ordinary magical beast and held lofty standards for who could become its master.

Qi Tian could feel the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider’s disdain and even saw mockery in its pair of compound eyes. His face instantly darkened, and with a gaze that could almost spew fire, he stared at the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider and said, “I’ll give you one last chance. Where does the Teleportation Array lead? Where is the other end?”

The Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider remained indifferent, as if the threats had nothing to do with it.

Qi Tian decided to let the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider experience a taste of his power. He summoned a Nascent Soul Stage flying sword from the storeroom and chopped towards one of the spider’s legs.

The Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider instinctively sensed the danger and tried to dodge, but under the awe of the Heavenly Dao Engine, it could not even move a muscle and was pressed to the ground, motionless, forced to watch as the flying sword chopped down.

In the blink of an eye, the sword fell, and the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider felt an intense pain sweep through its body. The second leg on the right side of its body was slashed by Qi Tian with the flying sword, cutting off a small segment. Dark green blood trickled from the wound, and the severed leg twitched incessantly on the ground.

Pointing at the severed leg, Qi Tian said, “I’ll give you another chance. If you are willing to tell me the answer honestly, I can reattach this piece of leg for you. With your current stage of cultivation, it can still heal and won’t have any impact on you. However, if you persist in your delusion, don’t blame me for being unkind.”

Despite the excruciating pain, the expression in the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider’s eyes revealed no intention of submission.

Therefore, Qi Tian swung his flying sword repeatedly, cutting each of the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider’s remaining seven legs. With every slash, the spider’s leg would lose a segment, and soon, the once towering Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider became stunted in size as its legs were whittled away.
