Chapter 1247: Chapter 0719: The Lost Colored Glaze Sand Chapter 1247: Chapter 0719: The Lost Colored Glaze Sand Chapter 0719: The Loss of Mystic Sand

Apart from Mystic Sand, the only other entities that could be dispatched were the nine Ghost Faces under his command. They also possessed independent thinking abilities, and their individual strength wasn’t bad either. Sending them through the Teleportation Array to the other side might assist him in determining the situation there.

However, compared to Mystic Sand, Ghost Faces did not have any distinct advantages. The transport capacity of the Teleportation Array was limited, and it could only send one Ghost Face at a time. At best, a single Ghost Face’s strength was at the First Level of Nascent Soul Stage. If there were stronger existences or multiple entities of comparable strength on the other side of the array, then dispatching a Ghost Face would be akin to serving oneself up on a platter; not to mention assisting him in reconnoitering the situation, surviving might also be problematic.

Of course, it wasn’t the case that Ghost Faces had no advantages whatsoever. At least in terms of intelligence level, Ghost Faces were certainly wiser than Mystic Sand. Sending them over could more likely clarify the situation on the other side of the Teleportation Array.

After weighing the options against each other, Qi Tian decided to dispatch Mystic Sand first to at least ensure a foothold on the other side of the array. As for subsequent actions, he could decide according to the actual situation. If the Teleportation Array could still be used, he could send over a Ghost Face later.

Qi Tian conveyed his intentions to Mystic Sand, which had some intelligence, but its wisdom was more concentrated on combat than other aspects, which seemed somewhat disappointing. He communicated with it for quite some time before Mystic Sand finally understood what Qi Tian wanted it to do.

Qi Tian approached the Teleportation Array and placed the spirit stone given to him by Transporting Whirlwind back in its original position. After checking repeatedly to confirm there were no problems with the array, he then let Mystic Sand fly into the center of the Teleportation Array.

The Teleportation Array in front of his eyes couldn’t be activated from the outside. Qi Tian could only direct Mystic Sand to operate step by step. He was sweating profusely before Mystic Sand finally managed to start the array with great difficulty.

A paler glow flashed by, and Mystic Sand disappeared from the center of the Teleportation Array. Before Qi Tian had a chance to feel relieved, his expression changed dramatically. He watched as all the spirit stones in the array instantly lost their glow and turned dim, while all the array lines and runes inside began to burn, turning to ash in moments.

During this process, Qi Tian could only watch helplessly and couldn’t do anything about it.

The consumption of the spirit stones, which served as the driving power of the Teleportation Array, wasn’t much of an issue for Qi Tian; he could just replace them. However, the foundational components of the array such as the array lines and the runes being completely burned was catastrophic for it.

It wasn’t about whether Qi Tian had the ability to prevent this kind of burning. Even if he was capable, it would be impossible to prevent it completely. There would inevitably be some loss, and what was lost would not be easy to replace.

First, Qi Tian needed to have a deep understanding of this particular Teleportation Array. Further, he required the technology and means to create the array lines and draw the Array Diagrams, and more importantly, have the necessary materials, all of which Qi Tian did not possess.

The Cultivation World’s Arrays and runes were as numerous as the sands of the Ganges, countless in number. Even isolating a single Teleportation Array, there were a variety of bizarre and different kinds. Although Qi Tian had considerable prowess in Teleportation Arrays, he did not understand every single one, let alone this one in the corner of the secret chamber, which he had never seen before. Trying to repair it to its original state was simply impossible, even though he had used the Heavenly Dao Engine’s function of sensing Spirit Qi, to investigate the array’s setup beforehand. This did not change the fact that he couldn’t repair it.

This outcome caught Qi Tian off guard. He had not anticipated that the Teleportation Array was a one-time use device. All the Teleportation Arrays he had encountered before could be reused. Usually, the only scenarios where a Teleportation Array couldn’t be used were either when the power source of the array was depleted and needed replacing, or when the array had been used too many times and reached the end of its lifecycle, leading to inevitable natural degradation.

Such a one-time use Teleportation Array was unprecedented for Qi Tian. He had never seen nor heard of it before, and he found no problems when he used the Heavenly Dao Engine to investigate it.

Qi Tian was somewhat anxious. The one-time use of the Teleportation Array and its subsequent destruction were certainly cause for regret, but what truly unsettled him was the loss of Mystic Sand. He had not tamed Mystic Sand for long, but it had provided him significant aid. It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that Mystic Sand was the most helpful assistant in his hand. With the loss of Mystic Sand, Qi Tian would be hindered significantly in many of his future endeavors, and his overall combat capability would suffer a considerable impact, akin to losing an arm—the impact was substantial.

Instantly, Qi Tian had no mind to tend to other matters, nor did he think about what might exist on the other side of the array. What he wanted most was to see if he could re-establish contact with Mystic Sand. If possible, he could then retrieve Mystic Sand and avoid any negative impact on his overall strength.
