Chapter 1246 - 1246 0718 Beyond the Reach of the Whip_2

Chapter 1246: Chapter 0718: Beyond the Reach of the Whip_2 Chapter 1246: Chapter 0718: Beyond the Reach of the Whip_2 The Teleportation Array couldn’t just be activated at will; first, its integrity had to be ensured, and second, there had to be enough energy to support it. The spirit stone that the Transporting Whirlwind had whisked away wasn’t the most crucial one on the array, but its importance was still not to be overlooked. With it gone, the Teleportation Array immediately became inoperable.

After the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider leaped onto the Teleportation Array, it discovered to its alarm that the array had been sabotaged. It shouted and screamed in desperation, but to no avail.

Just then, more Transporting Whirlwinds surged in, surrounding the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider. Soon, numerous whirlwinds attacked the spider, which desperately resisted, unleashing several powerful spells. However, it mostly attacked with its psychic power. Unfortunately, its attacks were mostly ineffective; the Transporting Whirlwinds were simply not fazed by these.

The whirlwinds quickly entangled the spider, one after another, in unrelenting succession. In the end, the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider was bound tightly, more securely than rice dumplings wrapped for the Dragon Boat Festival.

The Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider was indeed powerful; although it specialized in psychic abilities, it was still a being at the Nascent Soul Stage. Its physical strength was considerable. However, due to its extreme non-cooperation, capturing it proved to be somewhat difficult at first.

But this was only the case initially. As more and more Transporting Whirlwinds joined in, the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider was eventually subdued. The whirlwinds transformed into ropes that bound the spider tightly.

Qi Tian was closely monitoring the battle within the secret chamber. After shielding himself with two walls from the psychic arrows, he didn’t immediately retract the walls but left them smashed in the original doorway of the chamber.

The two walls had not been sculpted beforehand. When put together, there would naturally be gaps between them. These gaps prevented the walls from stopping Qi Tian from using the sensing function of the Heavenly Dao Engine to spy on every move inside the chamber.

Only after confirming that the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider was captured did Qi Tian calmly retract the two walls that had played a significant role. Thus, the secret chamber where the spider hid was completely exposed before Qi Tian.

The Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider couldn’t see the Transporting Whirlwind, but Qi Tian could see the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider.

If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, Qi Tian would have found it hard to believe that a mere giant spider had caused him such trouble.

Seeing Qi Tian, the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider let out a chorus of unwilling shrieks. Its body continued to struggle, hoping to break free from the Transporting Whirlwind. Then, it could transform into a blade of vengeance and seize an opportunity to kill Qi Tian.

But how could Qi Tian possibly give the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider such an opportunity? He immediately commanded the Transporting Whirlwind, which had already captured the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider, to bring it towards him right away.

The Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider struggled even more fiercely, but it was still in vain. If it hadn’t emitted that high-pitched scream earlier, it might have been able to struggle a little, but now, with its spiritual power exhausted, it had no means of escape whatsoever.

Soon, the Transporting Whirlwind had dragged the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider into Qi Tian’s palm. A black hole emerged, and the Transporting Whirlwind pulled the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider into the storage chamber of the Heavenly Dao Engine, where it was immediately suppressed. The spider, acting on instinct, lay flat on the floor of the storage chamber, not daring to move an inch—its posture was even more timid and fearful than when it had first encountered the master of the Saint’s Tomb.

With the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider suppressed by the Heavenly Dao Engine, Qi Tian did not have to worry about any tricks it might try to pull. However, out of caution, he still decided to add another layer of security to prevent any unexpected incidents. He left two more Transporting Whirlwinds nearby to guard the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider. As for what to do with it later, Qi Tian had not yet decided.

After taking away the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider, Qi Tian collected all the treasures in the secret chamber. His gaze then fell on the Teleportation Array, and he toyed with a spirit stone in his hand—a stone that the Transporting Whirlwind had just prised from the array and brought to him.

Qi Tian was extremely curious about where the Teleportation Array might lead. The one thing the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider had thought of just before its capture was to flee to the array. Therefore, the other end of the array must be extraordinary, certainly hiding many secrets, and perhaps even a great number of treasures. If he could take these treasures for himself, it would be a fortune for Qi Tian.

He had briefly examined the treasures caught up and delivered to him by the Transporting Whirlwind. Not one of them was simple; they were all Nascent Soul Stage artifacts, each priceless and beyond measure. These kinds of treasures were something Qi Tian would never disdain, especially now, when such high-grade items were exactly what he needed most.

Qi Tian hoped that after thoroughly studying the Teleportation Array, he might obtain more artifacts of similar quality. If he could achieve this, then even if he were to exit the Saint’s Tomb right now, he would have no regrets.

However, he soon found that it was difficult to discern anything from the small Teleportation Array by observation alone. The simplest way to find out where the array led was to stand inside it and activate it, thereby traveling to wherever it was connected and ascertaining the situation there.

But here lay the problem. The array was not very large; the Ghost Face Illusion Demon Spider, when standing on it, fit just right—with neither an inch too much nor an inch too little. If Qi Tian were to stand inside it, that would be a significant issue; at least half of his body would remain outside the array. If he insisted on using the Teleportation Array in such a state, he would be courting death. Given his current physical cultivation, he had no chance of withstanding the Spacetime Turbulence generated at the array’s activation—a force that would tear any person it affected to pieces.

Qi Tian had no intention of bringing harm upon himself. Since he could not go, he needed to select someone or something else to send. As far as people were concerned, it wasn’t even worth considering; on one hand, it was highly unlikely that he could find someone who could stand in the array without being harmed by it, and on the other hand, even if he could, there was no guarantee that person could handle everything they would face on the other side. While here, he might be able to lend a hand in danger, but once someone was transferred by the Teleportation Array, he would be unable to reach them and offer help. The person he picked would need to be strong and adaptable enough to handle everything on the other side and not be killed, but among those still alive, no one had such capabilities.

Dismissing the possibility of sending a person, Qi Tian could only direct his attention to other entities. He had a few options, one being the glaze sand. He had absolute control over the glaze sand, and although its strength was not clear, a few grains of its sand were already at the Nascent Soul Stage and could serve as its trump card. It was sufficiently small in volume and strong enough to pass through the Teleportation Array to the other side.
