The femine cloaked figure stared at Kailen as if she had found the most delicious meal in the universe.

Her malicious intent,palpable.

The voice of the time dilation artifact resounded in Kailen’s mind.

Kailen’s gaze snapped back to the strange cloaked person , approaching him in slow strides.

" An awakener huh. A weak rank 1 beginner stage ascendant lifeform . However you’ll taste better than the previous prey " The feminine cloaked figure licked her lips as she shot towards Kailen with profound speed .

" Right. Think I’m an easy target huh.Perfect opportunity to try out the Asura Elightement Physique "

In a moment ,deep crimson skin enveloped Kailen’s skin, however the runes were still visible on his skin.

A deep crimson horn appeared on his forehead . His eyes assumed a crimson color , and his hair turned crimson too .

His being brimmed with raw profound power.

Kailen directed every hunger for carnage and battle he felt torwards the figure that had shot towards him.

His figure turned into a streak of crimson light and shot towards the cloaked figure.

Kailen’s fists met the pale white fists of the assailant.

He felt a strong vibration run through his fists , as pain shot through his hands .

The opponent was a rank 5 beginner stage ascendent lifeform after all and the Physique could let him fight with opponents four sublevels above his own. Technically the two of them were of equal strength in this exchange.

He could have intended to use his shadow armored form in addition to the physique to easily overpower the opponent. However since he wanted to test the limits of the Asura Enlightenment Physique in battle ,he intended to fight with just the Asura Enlightenment Physique.

The cloaked figure revealed an expression of pure shock on her face as she felt pain shoot though her arms.

The gentleman was not the weakling she thought he was . Also ,how could a rank 1 beginner stage ascendant level weakling cross levels and fight with her ,a being at the rank 5 beginner stage Ascendant level .

She didn’t have the time to process her thoughts though, as her opponent didn’t give her that breathing space.

Boom boom boom boom.

In the span of a few moments ,a streak of black and crimson light clashed in a brutal exchange of kicks ,punches, attacks packed with sheer lethal power.

The buildings in the vicinity crushed from the sheer force of their exchanges. Craters formed wherever they appeared and shockwaves spread towards multiple directions as the ground cracked and erupted with debris far and wide.

" More more more more " Kailen laughed maniacally ,his eyes filled with fanatic light and sheer malevolence. His crimson figure pulsing with pure palpable blood lust.

The cloaked figure felt a sudden chill run down her spine as she stared into those eyes and felt the strange aura exuding from her opponent’s figure.

" What kind of absurdity is this?"

It was not because she felt the opponent more powerful than her. There was this sense of primal fear she felt when she stared into those eyes.

Yet-she had to feed. It was either she defeated and fed on this freak,or she’d die here- he’d kill her . She had met her a threat this time. If she ended up dying, the vimodial will just find another contractor and she would be useless. After all , the vimodial had not yet taken over her being, so there was no way the vimodial would die when she died.

Gritting her teeth, the cloaked figure who’s face had been revealed from the battle, intensified her attacks.

She landed a couple of lethal attacks on her opponent ,yet his skin would just grow back quickly as if she had never inflicted a wound on him.

What kind of absurdity was this?

Isn’t this level of regeneration too much for a rank 1 beginner stage ascendant lifeform.

Lucy exchanged attacks after another with the opponent ,yet she found out that the opponent seemed to be predicting her attacks and was starting to push her back.

Not only that, it was as if the opponent had started countering her every movement,mirroring them even. Yet the opponent’s fighting method seemed strangely different at the same time.

Finally, Kailen found an opening and landed a kick towards her jaw .

The sound of bones cracking resounded in the air as her jaw broke from the attack as she was sent hurtling towards a building.

However before she crashed into the building, Kailen’s figure dissapeared .

She thought she had been spared, only for a hand to clutch her throat suddenly.

Everything went silent for a moment before...

She felt her head being slammed into the ground with the hands still on her neck.

Jagged ,crushed debris of the ground crashed ,pierced and grazed her face as she experienced unimaginable pain.

Lucy remembered the time she had agreed to become a vimodial contractor when a vimodial approached her with a contract.

Though she knew she’d one day have her whole being dominated ,her consciousness erased and her whole being would be completely taken over by the vimodial, she was tired of being at the bottom of the food chain.

So she agreed. She knew it wouldn’t last forever. The power . Yet, she felt powerful, feeding on the life force of others to grow stronger. She didn’t feel like a prey any more. Until now...

" How useless" The apathetic voice of the vimodial resounded in her head-as she her consciousness begun to slip.

Kailen’s infinite Alchemy flames roasted her in and out . This was how he had intended to end her.

An eye for an eye,a tooth for a tooth. She had targeted him and said he was a prey ? Said he was gonna be a sumptuous meal? Well he was roasting her now .

" Who’s the prey now? You’d do well for a barbacue won’t you? Tasty meal?" His voice was cold, full of sheer bloodlust and malevolence.The flames intensified.

Lucy cursed . She screamed . Yet no one saved her. After several moments which felt like a eternity for Lucy,the screams died down ,as her figure turned into ashes.

Kailen dissapeared from the apocalyptic environs resulting from the battle as though he had never been there .

Suddenly, a cold ,ethereal voice whispered with a sigh .

" So much for my path to power. All my contractors have been incompetent buffoons.

What an interesting fellow though. A rank 1 beginner stage ascendant level able to defeat a rank 5 beginner stage Ascendant level lifeform.Hmmm.He surely has a high amount of lifeforce "

The voice turned silent ,leaving the place deserted and destroyed.

The battle drew no attention . After all, the capital payed no attention to the happenings in the slums.
