Happy Little Farmer -
Chapter 543
Chapter 543: Chapter 543
Although the process had some twists, Yang Fan still picked up the car.
He also found out that the reckless woman’s name was Huo Xiaorou.
The name seemed very soft and delicate, but her personality, Yang Fan felt, was even more exaggerated than that of his Little Mother.
"I’m really curious about something, you say you’re buying a car, and it’s one thing not to know the state of your own family, but why can’t you even distinguish the basic condition of the car?" Yang Fan leaned back in the chair in the lobby and asked.
Although the atmosphere wasn’t as tense as before, Yang Fan and Huo Xiaorou still couldn’t stand each other.
Huo Xiaorou, with her legs crossed, sat opposite Yang Fan and snorted lightly, "I’m the owner of the dealership, not a mechanic. Why should I know these things? Besides, as an owner, isn’t it right that I don’t know what the cars in my own shop look like?"
"Is that right?" Yang Fan asked in surprise.
That statement was honestly audacious.
If a dealership owner doesn’t understand, who will?
Meeting Yang Fan’s shocked gaze, Huo Xiaorou shifted her eyes slightly and said somewhat uncomfortably, "Usually, there are salespeople in the shop, but today they all happened to be out on urgent matters, and I was just filling in temporarily. Normally, I don’t interfere much with the shop’s affairs apart from doing the accounting, so yes, isn’t that normal?"
"In other people’s shops, the employees work for the boss; my employees work for themselves, I just take a little cut from the money they earn. It’s different from other places, so it’s very normal that I don’t know a lot of things."
"So, you pretend, spill dirty water on us, tell us to get lost, just thinking about it makes me angry!" Yang Fan snorted lightly, pairing up with this woman who, just like him, knew nothing.
This even made her arrogant.
Huo Xiaorou’s face turned cold, "That’s about enough, you’ve already taken advantage of today’s deal quite a bit."
"Where’s it big? It’s a square deal; I didn’t take your things for free. You cursed at me first, hit me first, and you think you’ve taken a huge advantage? The correct phrase would be an undeserved disaster, all caused by your pretense." Yang Fan said indignantly.
If he hadn’t seen her as a beautiful woman, Yang Fan really wouldn’t have swallowed his anger so easily.
Being inexplicably scolded and nearly beaten, the issues didn’t amount to much, but they were infuriating.
"That’s about enough," Huo Xiaorou muttered, "I gave it to you for free; what more can I do if you don’t want it?"
Yang Fan extinguished his cigarette butt in the ashtray on the table, "Is there nothing else then? It’s okay for me to leave the car with you for cleaning, right?"
"Let’s go, wait, add me on WeChat." Huo Xiaorou suddenly unlocked her phone and threw it in front of Yang Fan.
Yang Fan scanned it, added Huo Xiaorou on WeChat, and then left the dealership with Wang Daqiang.
The newly bought car’s engine and chassis needed further attention, so Yang Fan left it behind, planning to pick it up after a few days once it was cleaned up.
On the road, Wang Daqiang marveled, "Fanzi, the deal you made today really was an eye-opener."
"I just happened to meet that woman and made a deal, why should I put up with her crap?" Yang Fan said, "These days, some businessmen are seriously flawed. Even though they sell mediocre things, if we customers come in and make a few remarks, they take offense easily. Their speech is full of sarcasm, as if we’re without taste or class if we don’t buy their stuff, like we’re just beggars."
"So that’s why you laid into that woman thoroughly?" Wang Daqiang asked with a laugh.
"Not really, that woman does have that flaw too, but usually, I scold her because she started it, right? Old Wang, the more I listen, the more it feels like you’re not quite on my side here!" Yang Fan said.
Wang Daqiang waved his hand, "That’s not it, I’m just very shocked. People say I’m a quiet, easy-going guy who deserves to be bullied. Now I see they might be right. Compared to you, my way of interacting does seem too mild."
Yang Fan: ...
I’ve never seen someone so keen on getting themselves scolded.
"It’s okay to be gentle in other aspects of life, but in business, if you always concede, it’s your own money that will suffer," Yang Fan said with a smile, leaving it for Da Qiang to figure out for himself.
As for him, the price he offered was fixed, so there wasn’t much loss for him.
But if Da Qiang is always kind and too shy to haggle over the price, his business probably won’t last long.
Yang Fan pulled the car over and bought two chilled drinks from a roadside convenience store.
The two were leaning against the car, drinking, when Yang Fan’s phone rang.
It was Mr. Fan.
Yang Fan twisted the cap back on his drink and answered the call, "Mr. Fan."
"When are you free to drop by my place? There’s something I need to talk to you about," Mr. Fan said.
Yang Fan roughly estimated the time and asked, "Mr. Fan, would now work for you?"
"That would be best."
The old man seemed to be in a bad mood today; his tone was almost emotionless.
Yang Fan couldn’t help feeling a bit anxious.
Could it be that the old man had discovered his affair with Sisi and was planning to corner him?
Not entirely reassured, Yang Fan immediately sent a message to Sisi after hanging up the phone.
"I haven’t seen Grandpa for several days; he couldn’t possibly know. Stop feeling so guilty. When are you coming to the store to eat? If you don’t come soon, I might just serve this hot dish to someone else," Sisi’s message replied.
Yang Fan held up his phone and chuckled, "Who are you planning to serve this hot dish to? If he dares to touch it, I’ll grab his head. He even dares to touch my food?"
"So fierce! I’m really scared. If you don’t come, I will just find someone on the street to serve it to him," Sisi added a haughty expression at the end of her message, her lips twisted as if they were reaching for the sky.
"Send me a photo, I want to see how hot this dish is," Yang Fan replied.
This time, Sisi took quite a while before replying.
Yang Fan only glanced briefly at the photo before hastily covering his phone.
Damn!
She must have been confused today.
Without a second word, she just sent a picture of Abyss.
Da Qiang was sitting right beside him, making it impossible for Yang Fan to even look at the photo or reply to the message.
"Old Wang, do you have anything to do today?" Yang Fan, feigning calm, put his phone away and asked.
Da Qiang shook his head, "I’m completely free now. I finished with the last bit of stuff this morning. Now I’m just waiting for you to assign me some tasks. Oh right, if you must give me something to do, when will you have time to help me sell those silver coins?"
"I plan to sell most of the ones we had before, just keep one to gamble on luck in the future."
