Chapter 422

Chapter 422: Chapter 422

Yang Fan ran quickly, almost fleeing back to the car.

Zhao Wu turned his head and looked at Yang Fan, unable to hold back a hearty laugh, "Fanzi, are you playing deserter now?"

"Stop reveling in my misfortune, and drive!" Yang Fan urged; he absolutely couldn’t stay in this place any longer.

The dispute between Old Zhou and Zhu Shanshan was not just about causing him to be splattered with blood—it was downright life-threatening.

Zhu Shanshan had suddenly seemed as if her brain had gone offline. How could she have come up with such a dizzy idea?

There are some things she might not care about, but Yang Fan really couldn’t afford not to care.

Zhao Wu drove away from the market, turned down a street, and then asked with a smile, "Where to now?"

Yang Fan didn’t know either.

They still had those Matsutake and Black spirit ginseng in the car; otherwise, Zhao Wu could have just gone straight home.

"Let’s find a place to sit for a while. I’ll check what’s going on later. We need to deliver these fungi and herbs," Yang Fan said.

"Come on, I’ll take you to a great spot," Zhao Wu said with a smile.

He drove Yang Fan all over and finally arrived at the riverside, parked the car in a shaded spot, and said somewhat proudly, "How about this place? Nice environment, spacious parking, and we can drink tea."

Along this vast river, many stalls had been set up, most of them selling tea.

Yang Fan had drunk tea by the riverside before, but it was on the opposite side.

The stalls there were packed tightly; cars simply couldn’t get through.

He really didn’t know there were tea stalls here too, and the environment looked even more relaxing.

This place was more like a tea-drinking spot, unlike the commercial area across the river.

"You really know how to find a spot," Yang Fan said.

The two found a casual spot to sit down by the river, and a fashionably dressed proprietor asked about their needs. She soon brought over two cups of tea and a pot of hot water.

That’s how it was at these tea stalls; you just order a minimum of two cups of tea, and you could sit as long as you liked.

Sitting in the refreshing river breeze, Yang Fan sipped his tea and chatted sporadically with Zhao Wu.

He planned to wait about an hour before calling Old Zhou to check on the situation.

He didn’t dare call Zhu Shanshan directly, fearing that Old Zhou, if nearby, might detect something.

Yet, in less than half an hour, as Yang Fan was still on his first cup of tea, Old Zhou unexpectedly called him first.

"Fanzi, where are you?" Old Zhou asked, sounding exhausted.

Yang Fan was now feeling somewhat awkward, not knowing how to speak with Old Zhou.

He was very worried that Zhu Shanshan would craze out and tell Old Zhou about the two of them.

After calming his agitated emotions a bit, Yang Fan asked, "Have you two finished your fight?"

"It’s done. That damn old woman just needed some settling down," Old Zhou said fiercely.

Yang Fan: ...

"Don’t play dumb, just tell me what happened."

Old Zhou gently coughed, "I’ve been kicked out, where are you? I’ll come to you."

"Sure," Yang Fan immediately told Old Zhou his location.

But his heart grew more uneasy.

In order to settle his mind a bit, so he could face Old Zhou calmly later, Yang Fan sent Zhu Shanshan a message after hanging up, asking about the situation.

Zhu Shanshan quickly replied, "We have decided to divorce, left him some, split the assets twenty-eighty."

Looking at the message, Yang Fan didn’t know what to say or how to advise.

If Old Zhou had been more low-key, given Zhu Shanshan some face, they might have just gone their separate ways after this.

But today’s incident clearly agitated Zhu Shanshan.

"I’ll be free from now on, you can come see me anytime, try to comfort me, this divorced young woman. By the way, I didn’t mention our affair, he probably won’t think about it, you don’t need to worry," Zhu Shanshan sent another message.

In Zhu Shanshan’s tone, Yang Fan sensed no loss or sadness.

She seemed quite happy, almost relaxed.

"I want to say something comforting, but I really don’t know what to say," Yang Fan said.

Zhu Shanshan sent a smiling face emoji, "Don’t bother comforting me, this was bound to happen. I feel completely fine, just relieved, and shouldn’t you be happy I’m divorced? From now on, come find me at my shop, I’m going to my room to tidy up and buy a bigger, sturdier bed."

Yang Fan: ...

He really didn’t know what to say now.

Old Zhou, with impeccable timing, found exactly where Yang Fan was located just from a position he mentioned.

"Fanzi!"

Seeing Old Zhou approaching from a distance, Yang Fan naturally put away his phone and waved to him.

Old Zhou had changed clothes, now looking once again like the big boss he used to be.

Apparently, his talk with Zhu Shanshan had been quite rational; he even had time to change clothes.

"Fanzi, you sure know how to pick a place," Old Zhou walked over and clapped Yang Fan heavily on the shoulder.

"Old Zhao found it, I never knew there was a tea stall by the river here, and it’s much nicer than the one across," Yang Fan said. "Old Zhou, about what happened earlier, I think I should explain."

Old Zhou waved his hand, pulled out a cigarette and put it in his mouth, thought for a moment, took it out, and handed one each to Yang Fan and Zhao Wu before finally lighting his own.

"Why explain anything to me, I know what’s going on, your sister-in-law got upset because of me."

Yang Fan, looking earnestly at Old Zhou, asked, "If you knew my sister-in-law would be upset, why would you still do such a thing? You really startled me with your crazy stunt today."

Old Zhou suddenly looked awkward, "Isn’t it just passion taking over, a moment of frenzy."

"We were playing cards, and somehow the conversation shifted to that topic. I jokingly said I wanted to let loose and taste their flavors, just messing around, you know!"

"Then those two women didn’t believe me, so I insisted more seriously, and they joked about draining a middle-aged man’s energy, and as the jokes went on, clothes came off, and we really got into it, then your sister-in-law suddenly came home. Honestly, I didn’t remember at all that your sister-in-law could come back; by the time I saw her, it was too late."

Yang Fan looked at Old Zhou somewhat dumbfounded, "So, you were carried away?"

"Exactly, I got carried away!" Old Zhou slapped his hand emphatically, "I’m just more familiar with those two women, we usually sit together and chat, occasionally tell some racy jokes. I didn’t expect they would actually go for it, and I just got caught up in the excitement, even this old fox was trembling."

"Fanzi, you should know there’s a totally different mindset between fooling around with married women and going to those kinds of places."
