Chapter 323: Chapter 323
Yang Fan’s powerful slap left Sun Yuxi completely dumbfounded.
Looking at Yang Fan with a wronged expression, Sun Yuxi suddenly burst into loud wails. "Why are you hitting me again?"
"You deny it, huh!" Yang Fan spoke earnestly.
"But, but you were the one who told me to deny it!" Sun Yuxi collapsed, shouting so hard his spit flew everywhere.
Yang Fan nodded, "Right, if you admit it, it wouldn’t be right for me to hit you, but if you deny it, that’s when I can really beat you to death."
Sun Yuxi was stupefied.
Tears welled up in his eyes as he looked at Yang Fan, feeling as if he didn’t know how to compose his facial features anymore.
Yang Fan continued on his own, "Actually, even if you admit it, I can still hit you, but then I might not take half your life. I’m not satisfied with that outcome, so you better not admit it."
"Brother, I was wrong, truly wrong. Please let me go. I swear there won’t be a next time," Sun Yuxi cried out in desperation. "That woman will have nothing to do with me from now on, I absolutely won’t bother her again, please let me go!"
Suddenly, Yang Fan delivered a heavy punch right onto Sun Yuxi’s broken leg. "You’re still thinking about a next time?"
"Ah... No, absolutely not, brother, I was truly wrong!" Sun Yuxi screamed, clutching his leg.
An injury on top of another seemed to hurt even more intensely, causing his facial expressions to twitch.
Once Sun Yuxi had slightly recovered from the pain, Yang Fan then asked, "Why did you do it?"
"I... I just..." Sun Yuxi stammered, his gaze darting away.
Yang Fan raised his hand and delivered another punch, making Sun Yuxi’s expression twitch instantly, his tears uncontrollable.
"Ah..."
"Why, huh?" Yang Fan asked with a warm smile on his face, very kindly.
"I..." Sun Yuxi took several deep breaths before he struggled to say, "You took my woman, and it didn’t sit well with me."
"Setting aside whether I have anything to do with Bai Mengzhu, even if I do, the two of you are divorced, aren’t you?" Yang Fan gently patted Sun Yuxi’s broken leg with his palm. "Do you think she can still be considered your woman now?"
"No... not considered." Sun Yuxi gritted his teeth.
The movement from Yang Fan terrified him, making his entire body tense up.
"Since she’s not, then is it wrong for me to beat you now?" Yang Fan asked.
Sun Yuxi shook his head repeatedly, "No, it’s not wrong, but I hope you won’t hit me anymore. I really realize my mistake. Please let me go."
"I can compensate for all the losses, just name your price, and I will not contest it."
"Ten million!" Yang Fan blurted out.
"T... ten... million?!" Sun Yuxi was staggered. "Brother, let’s be a bit more realistic."
"Didn’t you say I could state any price? I’ve said it. Pay up," Yang Fan spoke calmly.
Sun Yuxi’s expression was uglier than crying, as if his whole face was out of control. "Brother, I really don’t have that, please don’t mess with me, just name a fair amount."
"Don’t have it? Then why are you acting so tough here? Huh!" Yang Fan raised his hand and delivered another heavy punch.
Bang bang bang, his fists flew, hammering Sun Yuxi’s broken leg like beating a sandbag.
"Ah ah... Stop hitting, stop hitting," Sun Yuxi yelled with a vigor akin to slaughtering a pig, his body bending forward and backward, but with not an ounce of courage to fight back, just curling up, trying to shift the pain elsewhere.
After pummeling with a dozen or so punches, Yang Fan finally stopped.
The plaster on Sun Yuxi’s broken leg was shattered by his blows, and blood began to seep out from inside.
"You better be telling the truth, or next time I’ll make sure you end up a vegetable in that wheelchair!" Yang Fan stood up, lit a cigarette and gave Sun Yuxi a cold glance.
Sun Yuxi was in so much pain that his whole body was twitching, his back arching like a giant lobster seated in a wheelchair.
"Didn’t you hear what I said?" Yang Fan’s face suddenly darkened.
Enduring the excruciating pain, Sun Yuxi hastily looked up at Yang Fan with an ingratiating gaze, "Heard, I heard you. There won’t be a next time, I swear it, I can swear on my parents’ names if that’s what it takes."
Yang Fan snorted loudly, "You better remember what you’re saying now, or you’ll definitely regret it."
Twisting his face with effort, Sun Yuxi maintained his ingratiating smile and kept agreeing loudly.
Yang Fan gave a sideways, threatening glance and walked straight out of the alley.
He wasn’t after Sun Yuxi’s money, that bastard might have been setting a trap claiming to pay compensation.
Fighting and brawling weren’t big problems, but if it turned into extortion, that would be a whole different story.
When he got back to the shop, the sister-in-law and Yang Yuan were watching two technicians install surveillance.
Outside, they had installed two cameras, aiming at both ends of the street.
They were now installing them inside the shop.
"Sister-in-law, this whole setup must be costing a pretty penny, right?" Yang Fan asked.
"Don’t worry about the money, we need this equipment," Ye Tong said, then sized up Yang Fan from head to toe, "Didn’t find the person?"
"Found him. It was that bastard who did it, beat him half to death!" Yang Fan said.
"From the looks of it, you don’t seem to have suffered much loss," Ye Tong commented after a careful once-over, finally relaxing her gaze.
"No other troubles, right?"
Yang Fan shook his head, "I don’t know, but there shouldn’t be any other troubles."
"Once the surveillance is set up, if he dares to do something like that again, we’ll just call the police. Now with these three cameras, we can see everything inside and out, crystal clear," Ye Tong said. "If possible, you should still try to avoid getting physical. Although it can be satisfying, it can also bring big trouble."
Yang Fan took his sister-in-law’s lesson seriously, showing none of his earlier ferocity towards Sun Yuxi.
"Bro, did you really beat that guy up?" Yang Yuan asked in surprise.
She seemed unafraid, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Yang Fan nodded, "Why? From the look on your face, do you want to give it a try too?"
"Nah, doesn’t look good. But I do love to hear these stories," Yang Yuan said excitedly, "Come on, bro, tell me, how did you handle it?"
"Curb your curiosity, there’s nothing good about these things." Yang Fan looked at her askance, in disbelief.
What kind of thinking is that, to be curious about fighting and to treat it like a story.
"Sister-in-law, you two keep watching, I’m going to make a call inside," Yang Fan said.
He was still pondering over Liu Sanleng’s matter.
From the sounds of it, that guy seemed genuinely interested.
Yang Fan decided to get some information from Diwu Ming first. If the money wasn’t feasible, he needed to find a reason early on.
"Go ahead, we’re almost done here," Ye Tong said. "Go take a shower and wash off that aggressive energy from you."
Yang Fan smiled and agreed.
After walking through the back door, he reclined on a lounge chair tidied up by Little Mother in the courtyard and dialed Diwu Ming’s number.
