Chapter 322
Chapter 322: Chapter 322
Yang Fan let out a shout, and the gang of delinquents instantly froze in their tracks like puppets with their strings pulled, their eyes filled with timidity, fear, and anxiousness as they turned to look at Yang Fan.
"Take out the stuff you just took!" Yang Fan barked.
The group promptly started to empty their pockets, tossing everything they had just stolen onto the ground.
Meanwhile, Sun Yuxi was rolling his eyes in desperation, seeking help from his underlings with his gaze.
But no one paid him any attention.
"Go get your stuff back," Yang Fan yelled at the few students.
The frightened students nervously stepped forward and picked up their belongings, one by one.
When they were done, the ground was still littered with various bills, looking to be around one hundred and eighty yuan in total.
"Whose money is this?" Yang Fan scanned and asked.
One of the thugs, trembling and with utmost caution, said, "It’s ... it’s our tribute to the big brother ..."
At these words, Sun Yuxi was so enraged that his eyes nearly bulged out of his head.
However, the thugs pretended to see nothing, silently hanging their heads down, ready to accept their fate.
"Take it away!" Yang Fan commanded sternly, "Paying a tribute of a hundred or so yuan, are you trying to disgust me? I thought you were something else, but all of you together can barely scrape up this much? Let me tell you, I’ve got my eye on you guys. If I catch you doing this again, I’ll end you!"
"No, we wouldn’t dare ..." they mumbled.
"We wouldn’t dare ..."
The group of thugs hung their heads, murmuring quietly.
They looked just like quails being scolded, wishing they could bury their heads in the ground.
"Scram!" Yang Fan grunted and waved them off.
The thugs, as if pardoned, bowed haphazardly to Yang Fan and scattered out of the alley, not even sparing a glance at Ex-husband, their supposed leader.
Yang Fan chuckled, "Tsk, tsk, Emperor Sun, looks like you’ve been decisively abandoned, eh?"
"Big brother, are you fighting over territory? Does that mean you’ll be in charge of this area from now on?" A girl with her hair in a bun approached cautiously and asked in a whisper.
Yang Fan was taken aback, "Why would you have such a ridiculous question?"
"It’s ... not so ridiculous, is it?" The girl forced a smile on her tense face and, mustering her courage, continued, "I mean, could we maybe negotiate with you, big brother, to pay monthly instead of being robbed every now and then?"
"You’ve got one thing wrong, I just wanted to clean him up, it’s not about taking over territory, and I won’t be in charge here. Hurry back to school," Yang Fan gestured dismissively.
What was about to happen next could be brutal, not suitable for children.
With her bun and her face pale and innocent-looking, the girl looked up at Yang Fan, "Then big brother, can we ... ask for your protection? We are willing to pay for it."
Yang Fan was stunned again.
It seemed that these students had suffered a lot at the hands of Ex-husband and his gang.
"For something like this, I suggest you go find the police and your school," Yang Fan advised, "I have an actual job to do and don’t have time to protect you all the time. You should seek help from professionals for professional matters."
"Big brother, we’ve been to the police so many times, and we’ve told the school, but ... it’s useless," the bun-haired girl said with a quiver in her voice. "They get detained for a few days, and when they come out, they still rob us and beat us up even worse."
"Then big brother, can we come to you for help when we’re in trouble? Like, when we’re being robbed, you could come and help us out of the situation."
Yang Fan had been through his high school days as well.
He knew what the girl was saying was true; normally, getting detained for a fight meant just a few days.
These guys, none of whom had a decent job, would come out and first thing, they would take revenge on the students who reported them, threatening them never to call the police again.
That was how things were when Yang Fan was at that age, and it seemed, after two or three years, they hadn’t changed at all.
"Do you usually get robbed by them?" Yang Fan asked after thinking for a moment.
He didn’t want to meddle in these trivial matters; his days were busy enough. If he took on this task, it would delay his more important work.
Several students nodded in unison and pointed at Ex-husband.
"Since it’s just him, I might be able to help out. Just give me a call if there’s trouble," Yang Fan said.
If it was just targeting this bastard, then it would be manageable.
After all, he had no intention of letting him go so easily after just one cleanup.
This guy needed a harsh lesson to truly rid him of the hatred and resentment festering inside.
Yang Fan planned to help him adjust properly over a few sessions.
"Then, big brother, your phone number... I’ll write it down," the girl with the bun said very softly.
Yang Fan couldn’t help but smile with resignation.
You’d say she has little courage, yet she made such a request without knowing anything about him.
But if you say she’s brave, her voice is so timid that she’s barely audible.
Timidly courageous.
Yang Fan then reported his phone number and waved his hand, "Alright, get going."
"Thank you, big brother. We won’t bother you for no reason," the young girl bowed slightly to Yang Fan with much courtesy.
"Go on, off you go," Yang Fan said with a smile.
The bun-headed girl left with the other students.
Yang Fan also released Ex-husband’s neck from the iron chain; any longer and the guy might have breathed his last.
His face had turned completely purple-red, his eyes rolled back, looking as if he could drop dead at any moment.
"Emperor Sun, there aren’t many people around now, let’s have a proper chat."
Yang Fan patted Sun Yuxi’s cheek and seeing no reaction, he suddenly slapped him hard.
"Emperor, wake up!"
Sun Yuxi’s head jerked upright, and he stared at Yang Fan with terror-filled eyes. "You... what exactly do you want?"
"Did you instruct someone to throw stink bombs into my shop tonight?" Yang Fan asked with a light smile.
Sun Yuxi’s face collapsed in an instant, his cheeks turning purple as if frozen in place, "This... I, I..."
"I was wrong, I’m sorry. I definitely won’t mess with you again, so I’ll cover all the losses, okay?"
His admission came quite readily, his tone suddenly humbled to the point of pleading.
This took Yang Fan by surprise; he had thought the guy would hold out for a while, stubbornly denying it.
Slap!
Yang Fan suddenly backhanded Sun Yuxi across the face.
"Why did you agree so quickly?"
Sun Yuxi clutched his cheek in shock, "Brother, then what should I say? I’ll say whatever you tell me to.
"Don’t admit it just yet," Yang Fan said seriously.
"Alright, alright, I won’t admit it... is that okay now?" Sun Yuxi immediately responded.
