Chapter 324: Chapter 324
"Little brother, do you need me to arrange something for you today?"
As soon as the call connected, Diwu Ming’s enchanting voice rang out.
This woman, whose attire leaned towards androgyny, possessed a voice that could charm people to the bone.
If one hadn’t seen her in person, upon hearing such a voice, they’d certainly imagine her as a captivating little vixen.
Yang Fan was actually somewhat intimidated by this woman.
Especially after knowing her rags-to-riches story, he became even more wary of her.
If it weren’t for his boasts already out there, and his incidental desire to earn a bit of cigarette money, he would never have made this call.
"Manager Diwu, I really can’t afford to patronize your place often; I have something I’d like to consult you about today," Yang Fan said earnestly.
Diwu Ming giggled, "What kind of address is that, it sounds so awkward, call me ’sister’!"
"Sister Diwu," Yang Fan compliantly changed his address.
"You’ve taken my surname, what’s that, it sounds like a sequence number, even worse sounding," Diwu Ming cooed.
"Uh... Sister."
"That’s better, now tell me, what is it?" Diwu Ming laughingly urged, her voice charming and crisp.
Yang Fan felt so awkward, even his toes were curling.
"It’s like this, can your side provide training for others to open their own shop?" Yang Fan asked politely.
"Training to open a shop for others? Like my kind of shop?" Diwu Ming inquired.
Yang Fan then summarized the gist of his bluff with Liu Sanleng.
After listening, Diwu Ming pondered for a moment and said, "His situation, it’s pretty much on the verge of closing down, providing training for him now wouldn’t make much sense. The only things he could leverage now are a stable customer base and a fairly large shop space."
"That’s roughly the situation," said Yang Fan.
"Let me think, your idea could work, but I feel the prospects aren’t very promising," Diwu Ming remarked, "After all, there are only so many customers in the town, and their spending power is limited. Even if we push their spending to the limit, he’d probably only be able to make about ten thousand yuan off of each customer."
"That’s already a lot!" exclaimed Yang Fan.
Making about ten thousand yuan per customer seemed like a small amount of money in Diwu Ming’s mouth.
"The number he quoted is quite inflated, cutting off the high and the low estimates, I can only calculate it based on a range of a hundred to two hundred people. Moreover, most people who go to dance halls can’t afford or are unwilling to spend at our level of service. That cuts out half of the people right there, leaving probably around a hundred customers," Diwu Ming muttered as if to herself.
Yang Fan listened silently, simply responding where necessary.
Indeed, she was a strong woman in this industry; her calculations were way more detailed than Yang Fan’s.
"One million, we’d all have to share a bit, how much could you make?" Diwu Ming asked, "But let me think it over first, perhaps we could come up with a more affordable option. With this scale of customer base, we might be able to make three million."
"Little brother, I can agree to this; including the ladies, I can arrange everything for him. But twenty thousand is too low for the training fee, it needs to be five hundred thousand. However, you can tell him there’s another option. We could take forty percent of his net profits later on, and then the training fee could just be a simple twenty thousand," she proposed.
"If nothing unexpected happens, with his current crappy situation, he should accept my second proposal,"
A pro shows their expertise just like that; Diwu Ming’s words sounded so convincing as soon as they were uttered.
Yang Fan nodded in agreement and then asked, "So, should I play it cool for a bit and wait for him to come to me on his own?"
"You could wait a couple of days and then check in," Diwu Ming replied, "This deal is doable, but it does carry certain risks. You need to make it clear to him that if the overall business doesn’t meet our expected results within a week, I’ll have to pull the girls out. We will absorb that loss ourselves; it won’t cost him a dime."
"Diwu... sister, how much would that loss amount to on your part?" Yang Fan asked.
"Roughly ten thousand or so," Diwu laughed, "Little brother, there’s always some risk in doing business and investing, and the magnitude of that risk depends on our judgment. Your instincts for this kind of business are very sharp. Why not reconsider and come work with your sister?"
Yang Fan immediately felt overwhelmed. "Sis, let’s not, I’m doing pretty well collecting herbs."
"I’ll pay you thirty thousand a month to do just what we were talking about, finding projects to invest in. I’m treating you quite well, aren’t I? Plus, as long as you’re full of vim and vigor, you can enjoy the services at the shop every day. There likely aren’t many companies that offer such employee benefits. Give it some thought, eh?" Diwu Ming said in a coquettish and soft voice, her laughter enchanting.
Yang Fan couldn’t help but be surprised; his fragile heart was almost tempted.
Thirty thousand yuan a month, such attractive employee benefits—it really was tempting.
"Sister... I’m afraid I might not be up to the task," Yang Fan forcibly suppressed his own thoughts and turned Diwu Ming down.
Diwu Ming said with a hint of regret, "Alright then, you should think it over. Carry on with the negotiation, and once it’s settled, I’ll give you a twenty percent profit share, okay?"
This twenty percent probably referred to twenty percent of Diwu Ming’s net profits.
"I’m just bluffing him, so let’s not talk about money," Yang Fan said after a moment of thought.
He would just skim a little extra cigarette money from Old Zhou; after all, his initial intention was to bluff someone, never really considering it anything serious.
"Are you rolling in cash right now?" Diwu Ming asked with a teasing smile.
"... I’m broke!"
"Then why are you being so polite with me? Let’s leave it at that, ha. Give me a shout once there’s news, little brother," Diwu said with a seductive laugh.
The charm in her voice nearly melted Yang Fan’s bones.
Dressed like a man (she was), but whether it was her tone or demeanor, the allure was turned up to the max.
Just as Yang Fan hung up the phone, Ye Tong and Yang Yuan walked in together.
"Fanzi, the surveillance has been set up. I need to get back home; Little Mother asked me to help with butchering a chicken," Ye Tong said hurriedly, "Make sure you head home early too tonight."
"Got it," Yang Fan responded.
Ye Tong quickly bid farewell and dashed out the door.
No sooner had she left than Yang Yuan suddenly pounced onto Yang Fan. "Brother, I want to eat lychees!"
"Aren’t you going back with your sister-in-law?" Yang Fan gasped for air and asked.
"I’ll go back with you. I can’t stand to watch the killing," Yang Yuan pouted and cooed, "Brother, I want to eat lychees."
