Chapter 145 A Bad Idea

Chapter 145: Chapter 145 A Bad Idea

Wu Xuelan spoke of her sister as if she were talking about a stranger, with hardly any hint of affection in her tone.

Yang Fan, truly an outsider, felt somewhat uncomfortable and couldn’t help but say, "She is, after all, your own sister."

"My own sister indeed. I washed her underwear from her childhood to adulthood. Don’t I know what she’s like? But after she got married, everything changed," Wu Xuelan shook her head and sighed, "Do you know why my husband turned to labor dispatch? It was all because of pressure from her family. At that time, her family’s situation was better, and our families often worked together."

"But, you see, being too close breeds conflicts. My husband is as soft as cotton, and they would borrow things from us and return them all broken up, yet we never said a word. But if we borrowed from them, and even if an axe was a bit dull, they’d nag about it for days. Eventually, my husband stopped cooperating with them."

"Not cooperating also led to problems. He said we had grown too prideful, that brothers no longer acted like brothers, nor sisters like sisters. From that point on, our relationship completely soured. My husband couldn’t stand their daily sarcasm and derision, so he decided to go abroad to make money, determined to earn some respect."

"Now, it seems he’s gained some respect, but our relationship can never return to what it was."

Yang Fan shook his head as he listened. Whose fault could this be declared?

In the end, it all boiled down to trivial matters, but each side had its own justification, and there really wasn’t anything that needed true debate.

Blood relatives turning into enemies was common in the village, and nearly always under similar circumstances.

What he was considering now was whether or not to seriously try Wu Xuelan’s risky suggestion, to conduct an experiment with Wu Xue Mei and see if Wu Xuelan’s advice actually had any real impact.

Wu Xue Mei was much younger than Wu Xuelan, probably around twenty-eight or twenty-nine, and also more delicate-looking than Wu Xuelan.

Yang Fan had interacted with her a few times, but they hadn’t spoken much; when they saw each other in the village, they merely nodded in greeting.

The only thing about Wu Xue Mei that left a deep impression on Yang Fan was her buttocks.

Round and tight, as if she had spent seven or eight years squatting in a gym.

Her legs were also voluptuous and straight. When she stood, they pressed tightly together, with hardly a gap visible.

If he were to push in from behind, it would surely be exhilarating.

"Despite some disagreements, asking me to test her out seems a bit inappropriate," Yang Fan said, thinking to himself.

"We are all adults here; what’s inappropriate about it?" Wu Xuelan dismissively said, "I know everything about her from her childhood to her married life. Now, all that’s left is this situation. If you can indeed bed her, I also want to see whether she’s as indifferent and unreasonable in bed as she is outside it."

As she spoke, she threw a flirtatious glance at Yang Fan and chuckled softly, "Think about it, the two of us sisters together, wouldn’t that make for an overwhelming experience? That would truly be a new height in life."

"Now that you’ve made it so clear, I’ll go and take the risk to see if your suggestion is reliable!" Yang Fan said, nodding. Wu Xuelan’s proposal had indeed stirred something inside him.

If he could indeed succeed, his new world would be opened.

Wu Xuelan, thoughtful for a moment, said, "Later, like this, you go to her house first. If you can make it happen, then do it. After that, come back to eat with me, and then we can have our second round. How about that?"

"You’ve really thought this through, haven’t you?" Yang Fan said with a wry smile.

Everything had been laid out very clearly for him.

"She foraged some mushrooms in the mountains recently, and seems to have not sold them yet. That excuse should work," Wu Xuelan said seriously, "I’m quite confident about this plan, you go ahead. They used to be quite frequent in their relations, though it lasted only about ten minutes each time, nearly once every couple of days. You tell me, with activity that frequent previously, the place must be uncultivated by now, after two years of quiet."

As they were talking, Yang Fan’s tricycle rolled into Shicheng Village.

The big locust tree at the entrance of the village, like a sentinel, was bathing in the sunset, its green branches casting a hazy golden light, looking both familiar and mysterious.

Yang Fan drove straight to the front of Wu Xuelan’s house and then walked to Wu Xue Mei’s house, located behind his house.

The distance between the two houses was even shorter than that between Yang Fan and Li Jia’s house, and aside from some slight differences in elevation, they were practically next to each other.

Wu Xuelan, walking behind Yang Fan, waved her arms and mouthed the words "come on" with great enthusiasm.

Yang Fan couldn’t help but chuckle, seeing that this woman truly treated the matter as a playful adventure.

And to think she was even more excited than Yang Fan when dealing with her own sister.

In fact, Yang Fan was somewhat skeptical about the whole thing; Wu Xuelan’s advice might not necessarily work for everyone, as nothing could be absolute.

The front door of Wu Xue Mei’s house was tightly closed, seemingly with everyone already retired for the night.

Yang Fan walked up and knocked on the door.

"Who’s there?"

A woman’s voice came from within the courtyard.

"It’s me, Fanzi," Yang Fan called through the door.

"Fanzi? What are you doing here so late?" Wu Xue Mei called from inside.

Yang Fan immediately felt a bit embarrassed; he was making a fuss, yet the door was still not opened.

"I’m here to spend some money. I heard you went up the mountain recently, got anything good?" Yang Fan called, mustering his courage.

The door of Wu Xue Mei’s house rattled loudly a couple of times and then swung open.

Wu Xue Mei, her apron on and hands covered in flour, greeted with a smile, "Sorry about that, I was just kneading dough. Come on in."

Yang Fan stepped inside, but he wasn’t quite sure what to do next.

Wu Xuelan had made it sound easy, but implementing her half-baked idea was anything but simple.

"I only got some mushrooms and those leaves from the mountain. They’re all over there in the corner," Wu Xue Mei pointed towards a corner under the eaves, where a white cloth was laid out with her mountain harvest displayed on it.

The "leaves" the mountain folks mentioned usually referred to horny goat weed.

Yang Fan walked over and looked through the items; the mushrooms were in all shapes and varieties, quite a mixed assortment.

There was also a fair amount of horny goat weed, but it was all damp.

After all, these were merely leaves, and although they appeared abundant, they didn’t weigh much.

"Sister Wu, what’s your price?" Yang Fan asked after roughly inspecting the quality.

"You make an offer; if it’s reasonable, I’ll sell. There isn’t much there after all," Wu Xue Mei responded as she walked over, having washed her hands.

Yang Fan’s mind was spinning like a generator as he thought for a moment and then said, "For all these, I’ll offer five hundred. What do you think?"

Wu Xue Mei was startled. After looking at the goods she herself had collected, and then back at Yang Fan, she asked incredulously, "Fanzi, are you feverish? For these items, two hundred and a bit should be the upper limit, right?"

Although he had made the offer, Yang Fan also felt a bit sheepish.

He wondered if he might get thrown out any minute now.
