Yang Fan casually dealt with Gao Lanlan before leaving the village.

For women like Gao Lanlan, having them occasionally as a side dish for meals was still quite tasty.

But by the time Yang Fan got to the county town and contacted Yu Hong Dou again, the girl had changed her plans, saying her grandfather had suddenly had a cardiac arrest, and the doctors were consulting, so she couldn’t leave.

Yang Fan naturally understood.

After comforting her briefly to take good care of her grandfather and contact him whenever she was free, Yang Fan hurried to Old Zhou’s place.

Before he even reached the door, Yang Fan saw Zhu Shanshan from afar, bending over with her round buttocks poking out as she was wiping the paint off the wall.

Zhu Shanshan let out a light laugh, "Didn’t you say that even if knives were falling from the sky, it wouldn’t delay your collecting goods?"

"That was just a bit of bragging." Yang Fan chuckled awkwardly, then pointed to the storefront and asked, "Who did this? Have you found the person?"

"Someone from the market, a bastard named Tian Gaofei, almost drove me mad," Zhu Shanshan cursed angrily.

Upon hearing this, Yang Fan immediately knew who this guy was.

The chubby one among the three men who bullied Yu Hong Dou that he encountered that day!

"Sister-in-law, how did you guys manage to provoke this person?" Yang Fan asked in surprise.

Zhu Shanshan hesitated slightly, then waved it off, saying, "Who knows? That scoundrel probably envied our earnings. Anyway, he was never a good fellow, doing something like this isn’t surprising."

"But him causing us trouble is probably like the King of Hell looking for the Elixir of Life, wishing he had a longer life. He really thinks we’ve been set up in the market for so many years, drifting in like rootless duckweed."

Yang Fan looked at Zhu Shanshan with suspicion in his eyes.

For some reason, he always felt that Zhu Shanshan’s tone seemed to be hiding something.

But if she didn’t want to discuss her personal grievances, Yang Fan naturally wouldn’t ask.

"Where’s Old Zhou?" Yang Fan asked.

It was surprising that Old Zhou wasn’t present considering the gravity of the situation.

"He went to throw paint on Tian Gaofei, that bastard just takes himself too seriously. Unlike him, we don’t sneak around. If I want to throw, I’ll do it openly," Zhu Shanshan said coldly.

"I’ll go have a look," Yang Fan immediately said.

Old Zhou and his wife had helped him a lot, and now that they were facing this situation, he certainly couldn’t stand idly by.

Zhu Shanshan suddenly jumped out and grabbed Yang Fan, "Don’t go, you can’t help much. Nobody in this market dares to mess with us, Tian Gaofei, that grandson, even if he throws paint, sneaks around and doesn’t dare to show his face."

"I’ll have a look, just in case things escalate. Although I don’t have much connections, I still have some strength in my arms, enough to protect Old Zhou!" Yang Fan said.

"Just listen to me, Old Zhou won’t have any issues. Tian Gaofei wouldn’t dare lay a finger on him, otherwise he wouldn’t be able to mix in this market in the future," Zhu Shanshan declared confidently and resolutely.

Zhu Shanshan however stubbornly stopped Yang Fan from going, which made him inwardly perplexed.

He was just going to have a look, just in case of any unexpected situation. Why was Zhu Shanshan so adamantly preventing him from going?

Suddenly recalling the incident that day in the alley, Yang Fan furrowed his brow and asked in a deep voice, "Sister-in-law, this situation wouldn’t have anything to do with me, would it?"
