Chapter 122: Chapter 122: The Woman with a Big Addiction
Yang Fan paid no attention to Zhou Wenhui’s shenanigans.
Calling her "Little Mother" came naturally, but directly calling her "Mother" was absolutely out of the question.
If he were to drop that diminutive prefix, Yang Fan reckoned he wouldn’t even dare entertain any sneaky thoughts about Zhou Wenhui.
Zhou Wenhui herself seemed fixated on this nickname lately.
"Fanzi, you’ve got to seize the opportunity. If you call me ’Mother’ now, tonight I’ll let you smoothly take possession of your sister-in-law, turning the raw rice into cooked rice, it’s a rare chance," Zhou Wenhui said with a wicked smirk, staring at Yang Fan with ill intentions.
Yang Fan immediately shook his head in refusal, "Anything else is fine, but not this. I really can’t bring myself to say it, stop messing around."
"Hey, you little rascal!" Zhou Wenhui exclaimed with her hands on her hips, "How am I messing around? Isn’t a Little Mother a mother? I’m telling you, it’s just a matter of the moment. I’ve been dropping hints again today when I spoke to your sister-in-law."
"She didn’t show any particular resistance, just a complex expression. There’s definitely hope for you, just one little slip-up, and if you barge in all of a sudden, the deed will be done."
Yang Fan sat down next to the dining table, "How did you ask her?"
"Straightforwardly, just asked her. I asked if you were deeply smitten with her and couldn’t help but forcefully have your way with her, what would she do? Your sister-in-law seemed conflicted at the time, but her answer was ’I don’t know.’ Therefore, that is hope!" Zhou Wenhui whispered, "If you’re up for it, I’ll arrange things tonight for a quick resolution."
Yang Fan shook his head, "I don’t know could mean a lot of things. Let’s just go along with what my sister-in-law wants."
"What are you talking about? What’s this ’going along with my wants’?" Ye Tong’s voice suddenly rang out from the doorway.
As she spoke, she and Wei Juan walked in, one after the other.
"Just some life decisions, what else could it be? Fanzi thinks I’m not reliable, doesn’t want my help with setting up blind dates, she wants you to do it and to listen to your opinion," Zhou Wenhui found an excuse very naturally, transitioning without missing a beat.
But for Yang Fan, this excuse became an instant social deathtrap.
Wei Juan was still there, and if she overheard, heaven knows what she would think.
Being upset would probably be inevitable, and more seriously, she might feel that Yang Fan was making a monkey out of her.
"Fanzi, you want to go on blind dates?" Wei Juan asked with a somewhat strange expression.
"Ah... yes, you could talk more with my sister-in-law when you’re free," Yang Fan had to fumble his way through the conversation.
The situation was a mess, now almost tangled into a messy knot.
"Talk about what?" Wei Juan asked, puzzled.
Yang Fan managed a stiff smile and said, "Just talk about your worries and such."
Wei Juan’s cheeks quietly flushed, as if a peach blossom had been affixed with blush.
She understood what Yang Fan meant; this match-making was meant to pair her with him.
Yang Fan’s straightforward words were, of course, understood by Ye Tong and Zhou Wenhui as well.
Zhou Wenhui, realizing she had misspoken, fumbled with her apron and then suddenly said loudly, "Oh right, I just remembered there’s a soup, too. I’ll go serve it."
And Ye Tong’s face could only be described as rather colorful at that moment.
Looking somewhat jealous and possibly a bit angry, she cast a covert glance at Wei Juan and petulantly said, "The person is right here, you chat on your own, there’s no need to get me involved."
Since the issue was already out in the open, Yang Fan didn’t care about the rest and simply came clean, candidly stating, "I think a woman would understand another woman better."
"I don’t understand!" Ye Tong sat down and started eating voraciously, consuming a mouthful of rice, and shaking her head while chewing, she said, "I can’t even figure myself out, how could I possibly understand women? We live on grains and cereals, yet exist like we’re just air."
Wei Juan quietly nudged Yang Fan, attempting to stop him.
But Yang Fan had already been so frank, so he just went all in, "I don’t think our situation is that complicated. A little help from my sister-in-law should more or less do it. My main issue is that I don’t know how to approach it, and she’s unwilling to talk to me."
Wei Juan, seeing Yang Fan revealing more and more, hurriedly explained, "Sister Ye, don’t misunderstand, there’s nothing going on between us. Fanzi is talking nonsense. He’s out of his mind today."
Ye Tong suddenly looked up, glanced at Yang Fan, and said, "Okay, I’ll help you."
Yang Fan’s mood was somewhat gloomy. He nodded simply and then buried his head in eating his meal.
Because of an excuse from Zhou Wenhui, the relationships among them were completely exposed.
Though egged on by Little Mother, Yang Fan found himself again unable to give up on his sister-in-law.
But emotionally, he actually felt more inclined toward Wei Juan.
Even though it was a forced shift, now that he had spoken out loud, he had to take some responsibility.
After shoveling down a few mouthfuls of rice, Yang Fan had a realization. Let it be, he thought, and let things take their natural course.
Now that the situation was as it was, he felt unable to clarify it by force.
Everyone had their own thoughts, and it wasn’t up to him alone.
Zhou Wenhui’s delicious and aromatic lunch, once again, left everyone tasteless and joyless.
After lunch, Wei Juan took Ye Tong back to the room, and who knows what they talked about.
Yang Fan didn’t bother with it and went straight back to his own room to rest.
Maybe it was the frequent tumult of the last couple of days, but after the morning’s events involving Gao Lanlan and Yu Guafu, his back suddenly felt a bit sore, necessitating some rest.
When Yang Fan woke up, the rain that had been pouring down since the morning finally ceased.
He glanced at the time; it was nearly three, and he felt he might still have time for a stroll outside to pick up some things.
Taking advantage of the fresh air after the rain, Yang Fan rode off on his three-wheeler.
Passing by the convenience store on his way out of the village, he happened to see Gao Lanlan standing at the doorstep.
When this woman saw Yang Fan, her eyes brightened immediately, and she came over with a grin, "Fanzi, are you coming over tonight?"
Upon hearing this, Yang Fan was instantly filled with a look of shock.
This woman couldn’t be that desperate, could she? After just having a go this morning, she was already thinking about tonight?
Was her addiction really so great?
"My back hurts. If I come over tonight, I’m afraid I might breathe my last at your place, let’s do it another day," Yang Fan said with a mixture of amusement and helplessness.
Gao Lanlan began to laugh somewhat licentiously, "With a body as sturdy as a bull’s like yours, what’s there to worry about? Between us, I think it’s only possible for you to wear me out; I couldn’t possibly do anything to you. Come over around ten tonight, I’ll leave the door open for you."
"There was too much going on this morning, you must not have been satisfied. Tonight, I’ll play with you properly to make sure you have a great time," she said.
For a moment, Yang Fan really didn’t know what to say.
The fact that Lao Er was tormented by Gao Lanlan to the point of being afraid to go home was probably true.
"I’ll see how things go, I might not be able to come back tonight," Yang Fan said tactfully.
"Do your best to make it, those trivial matters are not as satisfying as spending time with a woman," Gao Lanlan winked and laughed at Yang Fan.
