Goodbye, Ex-husband! I’m Pregnant with Your Uncle’s Child! -
Chapter 92 Congratulations on His Engagement
Chapter 92: Chapter 92 Congratulations on His Engagement
Julia Land had just returned home from the clubhouse when she smelled barbecue.
"So fragrant!"
Sophia Hart was holding a skewer of barbecue, smiling at Julia, "Sister Julia, wash your hands and come eat. I bought a lot."
"Okay, wait for me."
Julia washed her hands, changed into her home clothes, walked over, and started eating the barbecue.
"Will you be home tonight?" Sophia asked with a wink.
"Yeah, at home." As soon as Julia spoke, she received a message from James Thompson.
James, [Little Julia, I’m so hungry, and I haven’t left work yet.]
Julia smiled when she saw the message; he couldn’t possibly be hungry, so the emphasis must be on him still being at work.
Doctor Thompson seemed to have had a busy day; it was only now that he found time to message her.
After eating several skewers of barbecue, Julia turned to Sophia and said, "Sophia, looks like you’ll be alone tonight. I’m heading to the hospital."
"Why are you going to the hospital? Are you feeling unwell?" Sophia suddenly changed her train of thought, "Oh, you’re going to see Brother Thompson? Go ahead."
Julia pinched her face and stood up to go to the fridge.
She had brewed some licorice tea to soothe the throat and planned to bring a pot for James.
Julia changed into a set of white sportswear and drove out with the thermos.
When she arrived at the hospital, it was already quite late. She asked the nurse where Mr. Thompson’s clinic was.
"Doctor Thompson just left work."
The nurse glanced at Julia, a real beauty, wondering if she was the girlfriend Doctor Thompson had talked about.
"Thank you."
Suddenly, Julia felt a bit foolish; she had intended to surprise Mr. Thompson.
She hadn’t expected to bring her heartfelt licorice tea only to find he had left work.
A silly thing she had to keep a secret.
Absolutely keep a secret.
She couldn’t let James know.
*
James was unaware of Julia’s visit; after work, he returned to the Noble Grid Hotel and was busy with his company’s affairs.
Thompson Group was currently managed by Cody Thompson, and James was mostly busy with his own company’s business.
He heard the doorbell, went to open the door, and saw Julia. He chuckled, "Little Julia, why come so late? Tell me next time, and I’ll come to you."
He had just finished his work and taken a shower, and hadn’t even dried his hair when he heard the doorbell.
Julia glanced at his abs and coughed lightly, "Brought you some tea to soothe your throat."
She eyed him, "How can you just open the door without checking who it is?"
Just wrapped in a towel, who was he trying to seduce?
She had planned to go straight back to Sincere Heart Community after leaving the hospital, but ended up at Noble Grid Hotel.
James’s eyes, deep like ink, pulled her into the apartment and closed the door.
He was tall and long-legged, using his height advantage to envelop her.
He looked down at her and extended his hand to pinch her chin.
Then, he casually chuckled, "Honey, didn’t you see the video doorbell installed by the door?"
Meaning, whoever stood outside, the person inside could see through the intercom.
Julia, "....."
Sorry, she really didn’t know.
James chuckled softly. He let go of Julia and fetched a pair of slippers for her from the shoe cabinet.
"Little Julia, stay with me tonight, okay?"
He was giving her an out, otherwise, she’d probably have stormed off in a huff.
Julia changed her shoes and handed him the thermos, "For you, I brewed the tea myself."
James looked at her, "Little Julia is really sweet."
Julia nodded, "Yes, I am."
Having delivered the tea so late, she couldn’t possibly leave now.
She took a shower.
James, eyes smiling, poured a glass of the licorice tea Julia had brought and sat on the rocking chair on the balcony, savoring it.
He sipped the tea, reading messages sent to the hospital group chat, knowing a beauty had been looking for him.
James inquired about what the beauty was wearing.
The nurses in the group replied, [White sports outfit.]
Coincidentally, Julia was wearing a white sports outfit tonight.
The silly secret Julia had intended to keep was eventually exposed.
After her shower, she came out to the balcony.
Seeing her, James laughed, and a confused Julia hit his shoulder, "What’s so funny?"
James put down his teacup, took Julia’s hand, and made her lie down on him.
He was still laughing, his chest heaving with motion.
"Have you gone mad?" Julia lifted her head and bit James Thompson’s chin.
"You came to see me at the hospital tonight," James held her by the waist, "I’m really surprised now."
"...." Julia pushed him, "I won’t do that again."
What a silly thing to do.
"Next time, I’ll surprise you," James said, looking at her seriously.
The light in the room shone onto the balcony.
It illuminated Julia’s radiant smile.
Her smile was captivating.
She voluntarily touched his Adam’s apple.
"Alright, next time Mr. Thompson, it’s your turn."
James slightly lifted his neck, his lips pursed together, his jawline and Adam’s apple extremely sexy.

Julia and James shared a warm togetherness, but the situation at Imperial View Gardens was different.
Noah Quarter returned home directly from the clubhouse that night, and first went to his daughter Bella’s bedroom.
Seeing her face flushed, he touched her forehead only to find that it was somewhat hot.
The nanny responsible for looking after Bella was not around.
He called the family doctor.
By the time the doctor arrived to check the child’s temperature and gave her medicine, the butler had located the nanny.
The nanny had just been in her room calling her family.
"Sir, the little miss was fine when I went to make the call," the nanny explained stiffly.
"What about the other one?" Noah asked the butler.
There were two nannies taking care of Bella.
"The other nanny had a family emergency and went home on leave a few days ago."
The butler also knew this mistake was partly his fault; he should have arranged someone to replace the one who was on leave.
"Sorry, sir, I’ve been negligent."
Arabella Shaw also came home, seeing the butler and the nanny stand in the living room, she didn’t think much of it.
Seeing Austin Langston being egged by haters had put her in a fairly good mood.
"Noah, my knee hurts a bit from dancing today," Arabella cooed as she sat down beside Noah, blinking at him with a grievance.
Noah quietly watched Arabella.
They had met while studying, and the school occasionally organized volunteer work.
He noticed her patience and sunny smile when she volunteered.
They later became lovers.
After graduation, his grandma opposed their relationship, giving her two choices: quit the entertainment industry or go abroad.
She chose to study abroad.
Noah knew it wasn’t her fault; it was because he wasn’t capable enough at the time.
So he was willing to wait for her.
In this circle, not many kept themselves clean.
For her, he kept his surroundings immaculate.
She returned from abroad matured, and he had become capable, he was so delighted that he forgot the uncertainties in his heart.
Until he looked back and realized Julia, who had been by his side for years, was no longer there.
And Arabella didn’t seem like the one he knew anymore.
"Noah? Why are you looking at me like that?" Arabella touched her face, puzzled, "Is there something on my face?"
"No, you look very beautiful with makeup tonight," Noah said with a slight smile.
Makeup transforming into another face.
Hiding the real self behind a made-up face.
Arabella smiled shyly, "You really have a way with words tonight."
Yet until now, she hadn’t asked the nanny anything about the child.
Noah glanced at the butler, who, understanding, led the nanny away.
Bella would have a new mother in the future.
Feeling rather despondent, he stood up and went upstairs.
"Go take a bath and rest well. I’ll be in the study."
Noah went to the study.
He pulled out a photo of Julia from the drawer.
Tonight, she had raised her glass to congratulate him on his engagement.
He noticed her fair fingers gently grasping the cup, her nails painted in dark red.
