Gon's Harem System -
Chapter 51: I could stab you
Chapter 51: I could stab you
Dina taunted, her voice dripping with sarcasm as she leaned casually against the fence. "What a funny thing."
The words cut deeper than Gon cared to admit.
They struck at his pride, at the part of him that refused to be seen as weak, especially by someone who clearly wanted to get under his skin.
His jaw clenched, and his fists tightened at his sides.
He could feel the heat rising in his chest, a mix of frustration and determination bubbling to the surface.
And then, something in him snapped.
Without a word, Gon let go of all hesitation, all restraint, and rushed at her with a speed that left no time for second thoughts.
His feet hit the ground hard, propelling him forward like a force of nature. The distance between them closed in an instant, his body moving on pure instinct.
Dina’s smirk widened, her eyes lighting up with something between excitement and amusement as she saw him coming.
She shifted her stance subtly, her body language betraying no fear, as though she had been waiting for exactly this reaction.
Gon’s mind was focused, his movements sharp and precise.
He wasn’t thinking about the consequences, wasn’t second-guessing his actions—he just wanted to meet her challenge head-on, to prove that she was wrong about him.
However, just before Gon reached her, Dina’s form shimmered for a split second, and then there were two of her.
She had cloned herself.
The original Dina stayed planted firmly in his path, her smirk growing as she watched him approach with unbridled determination.
Meanwhile, her clone darted to the side, moving quickly and silently like a shadow.
Gon’s focus remained locked on the Dina directly ahead of him, his momentum carrying him forward.
But just as he closed the gap between them, the clone struck.
With perfect timing, it stuck out a leg from the side, sweeping it low and fast across his stride.
However, Gon had anticipated a move from the clone and so he was ready.
As the clone’s feet shot out to trip him, Gon’s instincts kicked in.
Without hesitation, he activated Shadow Step, the world around him blurring as he moved.
In a single fluid motion, he vanished from his original spot, leaving only an afterimage behind.
He reappeared a few feet to the side, stepping out of the way just as the clone’s legs passed where he had been.
The clone stumbled forward, its foot striking nothing but air.
Gon was already poised for his next move, his body flowing effortlessly with the shadows, his eyes locked onto his opponent’s every movement.
In his next motion, he reached out and grabbed her shoulder, his grip firm but controlled.
The warmth of her skin barely registered as his fingers tightened, ensuring she couldn’t easily pull away.
At the same time, he swept his leg in a powerful arc, striking against the back of her knees.
Dina barely had time to register what was happening before her feet were lifted from the ground.
Her body tilted backward, her balance completely stolen from her.
For a brief second, she hung in the air, weightless, her arms flailing slightly as she tried to regain control.
But Gon was still holding onto her. His strong hand was the only thing keeping her from hitting the ground.
His grip anchored her in place, her body suspended between falling and standing.
The moment stretched, the tension between them almost tangible.
He could feel her heartbeat racing, her breath quickened from the sudden shift.
His own muscles were steady, keeping her in place with ease.
He had her right where he wanted her—off balance, vulnerable, completely at his mercy.
"Light work," Gon said with a smirk, his grip still firm on her shoulder as he looked down at her.
His eyes gleamed with confidence, his stance relaxed as if the entire fight had been nothing more than a simple exercise.
Dina had lost. She was completely off balance, her weight supported only by Gon’s steady hand.
Yet, instead of fear, frustration, or even disappointment, a wide smile stretched across her face.
Her chest rose and fell with each breath, but there was no tension in her body. If anything, she seemed... amused.
Her eyes held a glint of excitement, as if she had enjoyed every second of the battle, even in defeat.
A small chuckle escaped her lips, light and carefree, as she tilted her head slightly to look at him.
Gon raised an eyebrow, slightly surprised by her reaction.
She was supposed to be frustrated at being bested so easily.
But she wasn’t . She looked as if she had just uncovered something thrilling, something that made her eager rather than upset.
Gon frowned slightly, his smirk fading just a little as he studied Dina’s expression.
"Why are you laughing? You lost," he said, his tone edged with curiosity. He kept his grip firm on her shoulder, ensuring she remained off balance.
Dina’s smile didn’t waver. Instead, her eyes gleamed with something unreadable—something confident.
Then, with an almost teasing lilt in her voice, she simply said, "Look down."
Gon followed her gaze downward, his sharp eyes tracing the path until they landed on her hands.
And then he saw it.
One of Dina’s hands, which he had barely paid attention to in the heat of the fight, now held a small knife.
The blade was steady, its tip hovering just an inch from his skin—close enough that one wrong move could change everything.
His breath slowed as realization hit him. While he had been focused on throwing her off balance, she had been planning her own counterattack.
She hadn’t been helpless. She had been waiting.
His grip on her shoulder suddenly felt like a trap of his own making.
Gon looked back up at Dina, his golden eyes widening slightly in surprise.
She smirked, tilting her head just enough to make her confidence clear.
"I could stab you now if I wanted," she said, her voice smooth and teasing, the knife still hovering dangerously close to his skin.
