Chapter 80: Floor 10
Chapter 80: Floor 10
[Undead Abyssal Tyrannosaurus: Level 30]
The name and level hovered above the beast’s head. It was exactly the same as the one he had faced.
Louis took several steps forward, and these tyrannosaurs, as fast as he remembered them, immediately moved to attack him.
Their movements were quick and accurate, but he was no longer the same as last time. He could see those movements clearly, which gave him time to do many things at high speeds.
He raised his gun and aimed at the core of one of them. His first shot went out, enough to kill it.
When the first one fell, he ran to meet the other three and arrived quickly before them, delivering an extreme, power-packed blow to the chest of one of them.
The blow sank that strange tyrannosaurus’ chest hard and exploded it along with all its core, killing it.
The other two tyrannosaurs were very close to him, so Louis made a quick decision.
He threw his gun into the air and grabbed the carcass of the tyrannosaur he had just killed by its front legs. He then swung it like a chicken and threw it hard towards one of the two tyrannosaurs.
The force of the impact knocked the tyrannosaur back, and just then, his gun fell into his hand. He pointed it towards where the tyrannosaur stood, who couldn’t see it because the corpse covered everything, and fired without thinking.
BAM*
The wind shot echoed with frenzy and pierced the two bodies with terrifying ease.
But there was still one tyrannosaurus left.
"Be careful, Louis!" shouted Laura from behind and immediately reloaded her gun as she saw that the last tyrannosaur was already far above him.
He wouldn’t be able to dodge it.
But just before she could fire, a second shot rang out and the tyrannosaur’s chest exploded.
The force of the impact even sent a 200+ kg body of pure bone and rotting flesh flying backwards.
’Very fast.’ She thought as she saw it and took her hand off the trigger.
Louis smiled at her, "It looks like I’ve gotten strong, " he said, slightly jesting.
She couldn’t understand it, but he could.
He had trouble dealing with these guys before, but now he could do it without batting an eye.
Obviously, they were level 30, and his stats equated to a level above 80, but he had managed it in such a short time that he was proud.
All thanks to that wonderful Class that everyone despised.
Naturally, he was proud of himself.
Laura arrived in front of him and smiled. "I understand that they are much weaker than you, but didn’t that look too easy?"
"Hahaha, sometimes things will look like that." He replied and started walking.
Killing those 4 gave him 2 levels, finally raising him to Level 20.
But he didn’t encounter many beasts in the rest of Floor 8. At most, he managed to kill 3 more similar to that one and about 10 more of very low level.
And Floor 9 was practically clean. It had a motive.
"Floor 9 during these times is like that." Laura said, as they walked down the long, extremely thick, rocky corridors that seemed to be a world of rocks.
It had so many corridors that, if he were alone, he would have possibly gotten lost, as he had no idea which corridors to go to in order to get to the portal.
Each floor was a dungeon in itself.
He looked at Laura. "Why? I sense presences, but they are hidden. They don’t seem to come out of their burrows."
"Yes. They are hibernating. The beasts on floor 9 used to be quite strong undead, now they are beasts that came from the upper floors to hibernate or have their young. They are not undead anymore; now, there may even be weak dragons. This is because the 9th floor has many entrances from the 10th floor." She smiled.
"In fact, from the 10th floor on up, there is a dangerous system, and that is, if we get careless, we could end up teleporting into a den of powerful beasts."
Although surprised, Louis thought it would be interesting to have it happen to him. There were so many boring things in the world, and climbing a tower by following paths in a straight line was one of them.
At least they needed a little more fun, right?
Although he didn’t reveal it, it would surely make Laura scold him.
They soon made it through the portal to the 10th floor.
Then...
[Welcome to Floor 10 of the Red Sun Tower, Challenger Louis Lockward.]
A system message appeared in front of him, interrupting his gaze.
But it didn’t stop him from being able to see the other side.
"A city?" Louis asked.
In front and behind him was a small city that appeared to have been built on a small hill. Above it were clouds and even a sun, which was somewhat peculiar.
It was crimson red.
Above the city, people were walking, trading, and talking a lot. They all had the peculiarity of dressing like magicians, swordsmen, or martial artists.
They were all awakened.
He looked at Laura next to him, confused.
"Haha, I didn’t want to tell you, but this is what Floor 10 looks like. Welcome to the first Free Meeting Point." She said, introducing him to the city.
"Before us lies the City of the Little Hill. It was built by the Empire long ago. Here, people live and work from what is produced inside the tower. We may even meet people from the Capital here."
"A city built by the Empire? You mean people are living here permanently?"
"Yes. Believe it or not, this world has an absurd amount of resources." She said, starting to walk.
"There are so many that families have businesses at the various meeting points up the tower to make a lot of money. That’s why this city was built, to have a place to redeem the rewards you’ve been getting and simultaneously give resources to all the powerful cities that can build businesses inside."
"I understand." Louis nodded. "Are there different dungeons here? On this floor, I mean."
"Yes. You got some system message, didn’t you?"
"Yes."
"Pretend you’re going to touch it, and it will open up a map with the quests you need to do to complete this floor. There are a lot of dungeons here, and depending on what the system tells you, we’ll have to pass the ones indicated to get the entry pass to Floor 11."
