"Why don’t we let your brother do the honors." He suggested.

Yu Holea was stunned before agreeing.

"Good idea, in that way, all the misunderstanding between eldest brother and brother-in-law, will vanish."

She picked up her phone and called Yu Sicong.

Once the call was connected, she greeted him and told him everything that happened.

Yu Sicong was stunned before he asked in a suppressed voice,

"Is he with you now? Can you take care of him? I will be there, right away."

Yu Holea chuckled. Her earlier doubt was correct, her brother truly liked Fu Jian.

"Brother no need, we will return to City S and bring him along."

"No. Just tell me the address." Yu Sicong insisted.

"Alright then." Yu Holea told him the address and heard Yu Sicong say, "Don’t touch the Fu family. I will deal with them on my own."

She could hear the suppressed anger in Yu Sicong’s voice and nodded,

"Alright. They are all yours to deal with, but I need to teach them a lesson on behalf of my brother-in-law."

Yu Sicong didn’t stop her instead he said calmly,

"Then go ahead. But don’t destroy them completely."

He acted as if it was completely normal for Yu Holea to call Fu Jian her brother-in-law.

Yu Holea was thrilled.

..........

On the other side.

Yu Sicong hurriedly finished his work and boarded his jet plane.

A dark expression appeared on his face and he kept checking his phone in the hopes that Fu Jian would call him.

The little cat who loves to tug his heartstrings, and act arrogantly in front of him, has suffered so much, yet he didn’t even call her.

Why?

Did Yu Sicong seem so cold to him?

Thinking back, Yu Sicong realized that he was indeed too cold toward Fu Jian.

His heart ached.

He vowed in his heart to treat Fu Jian well. After all, if he continued to play hard to get now, his wifey would definitely leave him.

The next morning. The table was set with warm congee, steamed buns, and pickled vegetables. Yu Holea cheerfully placed a bowl in front of Fu Jian, who still looked a little lost."Eat up, brother-in-law," Yu Holea said with a grin, handing him a pair of chopsticks.

Fu Jian gave her a weak smile. "Thanks... but you really don’t have to call me that."

"But you are my brother-in-law," she replied, winking. "You just don’t know it yet."

Qiao Jun chuckled from his seat. "Don’t argue with her, man. She’ll call you that no matter what."

Fu Jian sighed, but a small smile tugged at his lips.

Just as he picked up his chopsticks, a servant appeared with Yu Sicong behind her.She leads him to the dining table.Fu Jian’s heart stopped.

Yu Sicong stepped inside, his eyes immediately finding Fu Jian at the table.

Without a word, he walked over and sat down right next to him, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

"Good morning," Yu Sicong greeted, his voice smooth and steady. He nodded at Yu Holea and Qiao Jun.

"Thank you both for taking care of him."

Yu Holea waved it off. "No problem, big brother. But you owe me for this."

Qiao Jun just grinned. "Glad you finally showed up."

But Fu Jian... Fu Jian was frozen.

He stared at Yu Sicong like he was seeing a ghost. His mouth opened slightly, but no words came out.

His heart pounded in his chest, and his eyes began to sting.

All the pain, all the betrayal he’d felt, rushed back in a wave.

But now, sitting right beside him, was the person he had wanted to see the most. The person he thought didn’t care.

For a moment, Fu Jian wanted to throw himself into Yu Sicong’s arms and cry. To tell him everything he’d been through. But then... he remembered. Remembered how cold Yu Sicong had been. How he’d felt so alone.

Fu Jian’s expression shifted, becoming complicated. He quickly looked away, staring down at his bowl.

But Yu Sicong wasn’t disheartened.

Under the table, he reached out and gently took Fu Jian’s hand.

Fu Jian’s eyes widened. His heart skipped a beat.

He shot a quick glance at Yu Sicong, who was calmly eating as if nothing was happening.

But his hand was warm, firm, holding Fu Jian’s like he never wanted to let go.

Fu Jian felt his face heat up. What was this guy doing?

Were Yu Holea and Qiao Jun seeing this? He glanced at them, but they were just eating like everything was normal.

Yu Sicong leaned in, his breath warm against Fu Jian’s ear.

"Are you alright?" he whispered softly, his voice sending shivers down Fu Jian’s spine.

Fu Jian’s heart was racing.

This had to be some kind of joke, right? Why was Yu Sicong being like this?

"I-I’m fine," Fu Jian whispered back, trying to pull his hand away.

"I-I’m fine," Fu Jian whispered back, trying to pull his hand away.

But Yu Sicong’s grip tightened just a little, enough to stop him from escaping.

"I’m sorry," Yu Sicong whispered again, his voice low and sincere. "For everything."

Fu Jian’s heart ached. He wanted to believe those words so badly, but...

"You don’t have to do this," Fu Jian muttered, his eyes still on his bowl.

Yu Sicong didn’t let go. "I want to."

Fu Jian felt like his heart was going to explode.

Was Yu Sicong really flirting with him? Right here? In front of everyone? But he couldn’t prove it.

He could only sit there, his face burning, his hand trapped in Yu Sicong’s gentle but firm hold.

Yu Holea finally looked up, smirking when she saw how red Fu Jian’s face was.

"You okay, brother-in-law? You look like you’ve got a fever," she teased.

Fu Jian glared at her, but it lacked any real heat. "I’m fine," he mumbled, trying once more to pull his hand free. But Yu Sicong wasn’t letting go.

Qiao Jun chuckled. "Yeah, sure you are."

Yu Sicong finally turned to look at Fu Jian directly, his dark eyes soft but intense.

"Let’s talk later, just the two of us," he said quietly, his thumb brushing lightly against the back of Fu Jian’s hand.

Fu Jian agreed. He too wanted to talk with Yu Sicong about his changed behavior.

Why does Yu Sicong suddenly act as if he cares for Fu Jian? Was it because of Yu Holea? Was he taking care of Fu Jian, just because Yu Holea asked him?

Or did he lie that, he, Yu Sicong liked Fu Jian, just to avoid marriage talk?

Fu Jian didn’t know what Yu Sicong’s intentions were, but he was sure it wasn’t because of his feelings.

Yu Sicong didn’t say anything more during breakfast. He just kept holding Fu Jian’s hand under the table like it was the most natural thing in the world. Fu Jian’s heart wouldn’t stop pounding, and his mind was a mess.

After breakfast, Yu Holea and Qiao Jun excused themselves, leaving the two alone.

Fu Jian stood up quickly, his face still flushed, and walked to the balcony.

The cool breeze felt nice against his hot cheeks. He leaned on the railing, trying to calm down.

A few minutes later, Yu Sicong joined him. He stood quietly beside Fu Jian for a moment, staring out at the view.

"Fu Jian," Yu Sicong finally said, his voice soft but steady.

Fu Jian didn’t look at him. "What do you want to say?"

Yu Sicong sighed. "I didn’t know you were hurt so much. If I knew...I would have never let you suffer."

Fu Jian felt his heart clench. "Oh? That is why you are here. Out of guilt? Because Yu Holea told you to?"

"No," Yu Sicong said firmly.

"I’m here because I care about you. I always have. I was just too afraid to show it."

Fu Jian finally turned to face him.

"Afraid? You? You’re Yu Sicong. You’re never afraid of anything."

Yu Sicong gave a small, sad smile.

"I’m not afraid of anything except losing you."

Fu Jian stared at him, unsure if he should believe those words.

His heart wanted to, but his mind was still cautious.

"You don’t have to say these things just to make me feel better," Fu Jian whispered.

Yu Sicong stepped closer, his eyes locking onto Fu Jian’s.

"I’m not saying them to make you feel better. I’m saying them because they’re true. I want to be with you, Fu Jian. Not because of Yu Holea, not because of guilt... but because I love you."

The words hung in the air, heavy and full of meaning.

Fu Jian felt tears prick at the corners of his eyes. He wanted to believe Yu Sicong so badly, but his heart was still scared of getting hurt again.

"How do I know you’re not going to push me away again?" Fu Jian asked, his voice trembling.
