Chapter 697: No Longer Young Master Fu
Chapter 697: Chapter 697: No Longer Young Master Fu
Fu Jian was amused by Yu Holea’s words.
How could she be even so sure?
"What if I have already called him?" Fu Jian questioned.
Yu Holea raised an eyebrow and shook her head,
"Then you wouldn’t be standing here."
Fu Jian: "..." Just how much she misunderstood his relationship with Yu Sicong?
After a moment of silence, Fu Jian sighed. "Fine," he muttered. "I’ll call."
Yu Holea’s eyes lit up. She pulled out her phone and quickly dialed Yu Sicong’s number.
As the phone rang, she handed it to Fu Jian, motioning for him to speak.
But Fu Jian just stared at the phone, his throat tightening.
He wanted to open his mouth and confidently tell Yu Sicong about his situation, but for some reason, he felt like crying.
His heart ached, and his pride crumbled under the weight of his emotions.
Yu Holea was about to urge Fu Jian to speak when she noticed his expression and froze.
She had been so focused on mending Fu Jian and Yu Sicong’s relationship that she forgot to consider Fu Jian’s feelings.
Quickly, she grabbed the phone from Fu Jian’s trembling hands.
"Oops! I dialed the wrong number," she said cheerfully when Yu Sicong answered.
"There’s no need to worry," Yu Sicong replied calmly.
Yu Holea mumbled a quick goodbye and hung up.
She turned to Fu Jian, her expression softening. "Come with me," she said gently.
Fu Jian hesitated, his eyes narrowing slightly. "Where are you taking me?"
Yu Holea sighed, exasperated by his guarded look.
"Somewhere warm. Somewhere safe. Just trust me, okay?"
Reluctantly, Fu Jian nodded.
They left the alley, and Yu Holea led him to a sleek black car. The drive was quiet, with only the soft hum of the engine filling the silence.
They arrived at a beautiful villa on the outskirts of the city. It was modern and elegant, with large glass windows and a perfectly manicured garden.
Yu Holea guided Fu Jian inside, her voice firm but kind. "Qiao Jun, bring some clothes for him," she instructed before turning to Fu Jian.
"Go take a shower in the guest room. You’ll feel better."
Fu Jian hesitated again but eventually nodded.
The warm water felt like a small luxury, washing away the grime and cold that clung to his skin.
When he stepped out, fresh clothes were waiting for him—a simple but comfortable outfit.
Feeling oddly out of place, Fu Jian followed the smell of food to the dining room.
There, laid out on the table, was a feast. Steaming bowls of rice, savory dishes of meat and vegetables, warm soup, and freshly baked bread. It was more food than he’d seen in days.
Yu Holea smiled warmly. "Come on, sit down. You must be starving."
Fu Jian sat at the table, overwhelmed by the sight.
As he picked up his chopsticks and tasted the first bite, a wave of emotion washed over him
Thinking back as to how Bei Han had broken off his relationship just because he was no longer Young Master Fu of the Fu family, Fu Jian decided to be honest with Yu Holea and said,
"If you are flattering me because of my status then I would like to tell you the truth. My grandfather has kicked me out. I am no longer the Young Master of the prestigious Fu family."
Yu Holea blinked, then leaned back in her chair with a small smile. "I know," she said simply.
Fu Jian froze, chopsticks halfway to his mouth. "You... you know?"
"Of course," Yu Holea replied, her tone light. "I knew something was wrong when I saw you in that alley. But that doesn’t change anything."
Fu Jian frowned, confused. "Why are you being nice to me, then?"
Yu Holea rolled her eyes playfully.
"Of course, because you are brother’s favorite person..."
"I am not." Fu Jian interrupted her and looked at her desperately. "I would clarify it now so that you won’t be disappointed later."
Yu Holea paused, seeing the desperate expression, she changed her words and said softly,
"Even if you are not, I will still help you."
"Why?" Fu Jian asked in a dazed voice.
"Because you are a good person." Yu Holea smiled.
Fu Jian stared at Yu Holea, his mind struggling to process her words.
No one had called him a "good person" in a long time, especially not after everything that had happened.
His heart felt heavy, but there was also a strange warmth growing in his chest.
"You don’t even know me," he whispered, his voice shaky.
Yu Holea leaned forward, resting her elbows on the table.
"I know enough," she said gently.
"I know you didn’t have to stop that thief earlier, but you did. I know you’ve been through a lot, but you’re still standing. That says a lot about who you are."
Fu Jian looked down at his plate, pushing the food around with his chopsticks.
He wasn’t used to kindness without strings attached. It felt strange, almost unreal.
"You really don’t have to do this," he muttered. "I’ll figure things out on my own. I always do."
Yu Holea sighed, a hint of frustration in her voice.
"You don’t have to do everything alone, you know. It’s okay to let people help you."
Fu Jian shook his head. "Every time I trusted someone, they left. My grandfather, my best friend...my own subordinates..."
Yu Holea’s eyes softened.
"I’m not them," she said quietly. "And I’m not going anywhere."
For a moment, they sat in silence.
The only sounds were the faint ticking of the clock and the soft rustling of the wind outside.
Slowly, Fu Jian’s tense shoulders began to relax. He took another bite of the food, savoring the warmth that spread through him.
After a while, he spoke again, his voice barely above a whisper. "Thank you."
Yu Holea smiled brightly, her silver hair catching the light. "You’re welcome. Now eat up. There’s plenty more where that came from."
Fu Jian chuckled softly—the first genuine laugh he’d had in days.
He still didn’t fully understand why Yu Holea was helping him, but for the first time in a long while, he felt like maybe, just maybe, he wasn’t completely alone.
As he ate, Yu Holea and Qiao Jun chatted about random things, filling the room with a comforting buzz of conversation.
Fu Jian listened quietly, feeling like he was part of something again, even if just for a little while.
When the meal was over, Yu Holea stood up and stretched.
"Alright, you’re staying here tonight. No arguments."
Fu Jian opened his mouth to protest, but the words never came.
Deep down, he knew he needed this—a warm bed, a safe place, and maybe even a friend.
"Okay," he whispered, surprising even himself.
Yu Holea grinned. "Good. Welcome home, Fu Jian."
Once Yu Holea returned to her room, Qiao Jun followed behind shamelessly.
Yu Holea raised an eyebrow,
"You don’t want to ask about anything?"
"No, I knew about Fu Jian’s existence since I started to date. After all, if you love a person, you have to love her dog too." Qiao Jun said with nonchalance.
Yu Holea rolled her eyes and changed the subject,
"Do you know what exactly happened?"
Qiao Jun grinned and waved his hand, suddenly a folder appeared in his hand.
"Everything is written inside, but I need some commission for the information I provide."
"Hm? Really?" Yu Holea dragged out her words.
Qiao Jun nodded his head seriously.
"It’s alright then I won’t ask for the information. I still have Miss Wu who can help me..." Yu Holea acted as if she was going to call Miss Wu.
Qiao Jun’s face darkened and he immediately passed her the folder, while muttering under his breath, that she was being too petty.
Yu Holea laughed, before going through the document.
The more she read, the angrier she became.
Turns out Old Master Du had very cleverly taken away all of Fu Jian’s property and distributed it to his illegitimate child.
Yu Holea clenched her fists, her eyes narrowing as she read through the last page of the folder.
"This is ridiculous," she muttered, slamming the folder shut.
Qiao Jun flinched slightly at her sudden outburst but didn’t say anything. He knew better than to interrupt when she was angry.
"How could his own family do this to him?" Yu Holea hissed, pacing the room. "And that grandfather of his... he’s worse than I thought."
Qiao Jun leaned against the doorframe, arms crossed.
"Old Master Fu’s been planning this for a while. He made sure Fu Jian had no way to fight back. The legal papers are airtight."
Yu Holea stopped pacing and looked at him. "But there’s got to be a way to fix this. We can’t let them get away with it."
Qiao Jun shrugged.
"We’d need solid proof to challenge those documents. Without it, Fu Jian doesn’t stand a chance."
Yu Holea’s eyes sparkled with determination.
"Then we’ll find that proof. I don’t care how long it takes."
Qiao Jun sighed but smiled slightly.
