"Yeah, what is it?" A familiar voice asked in a curious tone.

Sheng Yin’s entire body froze. She mechanically turned her head toward the stairs, where Yu Shuchang in a casual white plain t-shirt and black joggers, was standing.

He had one hand in his pocket, and a lazy smirk was plastered on his face.

Sheng Yin chuckled awkwardly.

"Nothing...I just...I just wanted to tell you about my breakfast preference. What are you doing here?"

Yu Holea returned to the kitchen and explained,

"The Yu Mansion is going under construction. All of the apartments owned by him are at 2 2-hour distance from his new studio. His previous studio is under construction for the time being.

Out of all of us, my villa is the only one which is close to his new studio so...he has shifted here."

"What? How come the Yu Mansion has suddenly gone under construction? Just yesterday I had dinner with Mrs. Yu there." Sheng Yin was stunned.

Yu Holea paused, before continuing,

"Sister Yin don’t think much. The water pipe broke down, and the entire mansion was flooded last night. My mom has shifted to a different residence, while my eldest brother has his own residence. As for my third brother...well he has his own hideout."

Sheng Yin held her forehead. She kept on feeling something was amiss, but couldn’t pinpoint it.

A hand slid around her waist and pushed her toward a warm body. Sheng Yin instinctively wanted to move away.

His warm breath on her ear made her feel strangely vulnerable, and the closeness of his body sent an odd flutter through her chest.

His voice was low, teasing, but there was something else in it, something more intense.

"Sh. Don’t move," he whispered, his breath tickling her ear. "My sister will suspect us."

Sheng Yin could feel the heat of his body against hers, and for a moment, everything around her felt like it had gone quiet.

She could hear the sound of her own heartbeat, thumping loudly in her chest, and she knew he could probably feel it too.

"Yu Shuchang..." she whispered, her voice barely above a breath.

She didn’t know what to say.

Part of her wanted to push him away, to keep the distance between them, but another part of her was afraid to do so.

It was like her body was betraying her thoughts, caught in the tension of the moment.

Yu Shuchang didn’t let go. Instead, he leaned in slightly closer, his lips brushing against the side of her neck, sending a chill down her spine.

"You’re so tense," he murmured, his voice thick with something she couldn’t quite place.

Sheng Yin swallowed hard, her mind racing. She had to do something.

This isn’t right. He’s my...

The thought was interrupted as his hand moved from her waist, sliding gently over her hip, sending warmth through her whole body.

She couldn’t help but feel the heat pooling inside her chest.

"Shuchang, stop..." she said softly, though she didn’t really want him to.

Her mind was telling her one thing, but her heart... her heart felt like it was saying something completely different.

Yu Shuchang chuckled, the sound deep and warm like he knew exactly what was going on inside her.

"You’re not being honest with yourself, are you, Yin?" His voice was teasing, but there was an undeniable sincerity in it.

"You think you want to push me away, but deep down, I know you don’t."

Sheng Yin’s face flushed. She gritted her teeth and gathered all of her courage to push Yu Shuchang away.

Rushing inside the kitchen, she tried her best to act natural and asked,

"Is there something I can do?"

Yu Holea smiled and shook her head, "No need. You go and sit."

"No." Sheng Yin almost shouted.

Yu Holea blinked in confusion, "What happened?"

"Nothing...I...I am going upstairs. Bye." With that Sheng Yin hurriedly ran off.

Once the breakfast was made, Yu Holea called Sheng Yin.

After having her portion, Sheng Yin rushed out of the villa. She swore to not visit the villa, till Yu Shuchang left.

Yu Holea looked at Sheng Yin’s retreating back and pouted,

"Second brother, you are going too fast. If you continue like this, my sister-in-law will surely run away."

The truth was she already knew, that Yu Shuchang and Sheng Yin were in a contract relationship.

Last night.

Yu Shuchang returned to the Yu Mansion.

Mrs. Yu was sitting on the sofa waiting for him to return.

Once he sat down, Mrs. Yu raised an eyebrow and said calmly,

"If you tell the truth, I will help you. Otherwise, you can continue to ruin your chances of being with her."

Yu Shuchang was stunned, before plastering a fake smile,

"What are you saying mom, I can’t understand."

"You like her." Mrs. Yu declared.

"I do." Yu Shuchang accepted it graciously. There was nothing to hide. " That is why she is my girlfriend."

"Nope. She is not your girlfriend. She cares about you...but I don’t think she likes you. And your relationship doesn’t seem natural at all. Hm...it was more like a transaction." Mrs. Yu corrected him.

Yu Shuchang’s heart skipped a beat. His mother was too sharp.

After brainstorming for a while, he decided to ask for help. Maybe his mother could give him good advice.

"You are correct. I like her. And our relationship seems transactional because...it is a contract relationship. At first I just...wanted to put up an act to fool you, but later I fell in love with her. However, from her response, she doesn’t seem to have fallen for me. She is on guard around me."

Mrs. Yu’s expression darkened when she heard that her son had tried to fool her.

"I knew it." She muttered. "So what are you planning to do now?"

"I have tricked her into signing a movie with me. She doesn’t know that I am the male lead." Yu Shuchang explained calmly.

"Hm...anything else?" Mrs. Yu asked anxiously.

When she knew Sheng Yin was Yu Shuchang’s girlfriend, she was filled with joy.

After all, she wanted Sheng Yin to become her daughter-in-law. Who would have thought that it was all a contract relationship?

Now she was anxious like an ant on a hot pan.

She has to help her son abduct this beautiful cabbage named Sheng Yin before any other pig eats it.

Yu Shuchang stared blankly before shaking his head, "I...I didn’t do anything else."

Mrs. Yu almost wanted to slap him.

Taking a deep breath she picked up her phone and said,

"Wait, I will tell you. If you want to chase Yin, be more bold. First, make her familiarize herself with you. Stay near her, care for her, show off your culinary skills, and...cough...cough...show off your assets."

It took Yu Shuchang a few minutes before he realized what his mother meant. He wanted to slap himself!

Why didn’t he think about showing off his body?

Mrs. Yu ignored her dumb son and called Yu Holea. She explained everything to Yu Holea, who was instantly on board with the plan.

Soon Yu Sicong and Yu Sile also got their roles.

The entire Yu family became united and strived toward one goal: Steal the beautiful cabbage named Sheng Yin and feed it to their pig named Yu Shuchang.

Even though he was being called pig Yu Shuchang wasn’t upset. After all, he was the one who would get the cabbage.

In just one night, they came up with a good excuse to let Yu Shuchang stay in Sheng Yin’s villa and all of them gave tips on how to make Sheng Yin fall in love with him.

Poor Sheng Yin didn’t know that 5 people were making grand schemes against her.

"She won’t run away. Don’t worry."Yu Shuchang patted her back.

Yu Holea: "..." You are.

"Anyways, tonight’s dinner will be made by me. You just need to ensure that Sheng Yin returns home." Yu Shuchang said.

Yu Holea nodded, before holding his wrist,

"Brother, you are serious about Yin, right?"

"100%." Yu Shuchang said with a confident expression.

Yu Holea didn’t withdraw her hand, instead, and said,

"Never hurt her. She already had a worse biological family."

Yu Shuchang looked at Yu Holea, his expression softening as he nodded seriously.

"I promise, I won’t hurt her. I care about her too much to do that."

Yu Holea seemed satisfied with his answer but still had a concerned look on her face.

"Good. Just remember, she’s been through a lot, and she doesn’t trust easily."

"I know," Yu Shuchang said, his voice quieter now. "I won’t rush her. I want to take it slow, even if it’s hard."

Yu Shuchang sighed, thinking about what his mom had said.

Be bold. Show her you care.

But how could he do that without scaring her off? It felt like he was walking on thin ice, but he was determined.
