Chapter 686: Miss Wu’s Visit
Chapter 686: Chapter 686: Miss Wu’s Visit
After all, she had never seen Cai Bao’s black-bellied side.
It was truly amazing!
Just as she leisurely, a woman walked up to her.
"Are you Yu Holea?"
Yu Holea raised an eyebrow, "Who are you?"
The woman studied Yu Holea for a moment before replying, "From your tone, you are indeed Yu Holea. Our boss wants to have a chat with you, come outside for a bit."
Yu Holea chuckled, "Since she had work with me, why should I move? Call her over here."
The woman hesitated for a brief moment as if assessing whether to push further. Then, her lips curled into a tight smile. "I’m afraid that won’t be possible. My boss isn’t the kind to come when summoned."
Yu Holea smirked, a glint of amusement flashing in her gaze.
"And I’m not the kind to be summoned either."
A brief silence stretched between them.
The woman’s expression flickered—irritation, then restraint. She had come prepared to deliver a message, but she clearly hadn’t expected resistance.
"Look," the woman finally said, her voice lowering.
"This isn’t a request. It would be in your best interest to cooperate."
Yu Holea tapped her fingers against the railing, her demeanor unfazed. "You say that, yet I don’t even know who your boss is."
The woman exhaled sharply, visibly impatient now. "You will, once you come outside."
Yu Holea tilted her head, feigning deep thought before letting out a soft chuckle.
"Tell your boss that if she wants a conversation, she can come here herself. If she’s too proud to do that, then I suppose we have nothing to discuss."
The woman’s jaw tightened, and for a moment, Yu Holea thought she might lash out. Instead, she took a slow, controlled breath and stepped back.
"Very well," she said, her voice clipped. "I’ll relay your message. But don’t be surprised if you regret this."
With that, she turned and strode away, disappearing into the bustling streets.
The woman exited the shooting location and soon appeared near a black sleek car parked outside.
She entered the car and reported,
"Miss Wu that woman has asked you to come and meet her."
Inside the sleek black car, Miss Wu tapped her manicured nails against the armrest, her expression unreadable. She had been expecting Yu Holea to refuse, but hearing it still made her annoyed.
"She really said that?" Miss Wu asked, her voice calm but with a hint of amusement.
The woman sitting beside her nodded.
"Yes, Miss Wu. She refused to come and said that if you want to talk, you should go to her instead."
Miss Wu smirked, leaning back against the leather seat.
"Interesting... She’s bolder than I thought."
The driver, who had been silent all this time, glanced at Miss Wu through the rearview mirror.
"Should we force her to come?"
Miss Wu chuckled lightly.
"No need. If I go personally, it will show respect. And sometimes, respect is the best way to win a game."
The woman beside her hesitated.
"But Miss Wu, if you go to her, won’t that make it seem like you’re lowering yourself?"
Miss Wu turned her head slightly, her dark eyes gleaming.
"No. It will make her think she has the upper hand. And that is exactly what I want."
With that, she pushed open the door and walked up to the shooting location.
Entering inside, she made a beeline to Yu Holea’s previous location, only to find no one there.
She asked the staff and the staff told her that Yu Holea was in her room.
Miss Wu asked for the directions before reaching outside Yu Holea’s room. She knocked on the door.
The door opened with a soft creak, revealing Yu Holea sitting on a couch, sipping tea. She didn’t look surprised to see Miss Wu standing there. In fact, she looked amused.
Miss Wu stepped inside, her heels clicking against the floor. She studied Yu Holea, but the other woman showed no signs of nervousness.
Miss Wu sat on the nearby couch and greeted,
"Good afternoon Miss Yu."
"Good afternoon..." Yu Holea didn’t finish her words, as it was her first meeting with Miss Wu.
Miss Wu sensing her hidden question, introduced herself,
"I am Wu Nian. You can call me Miss Wu."
Yu Holea nodded and greeted her, "So Miss Wu, tell me what you want."
"Your boyfriend. Qiao Jun." Miss Wu calmly said.
..............................
At the same time.
Qiao Jun who was signing some documents, received a message from his subordinate, telling him that Miss Wu had somehow managed to meet with Yu Holea.
Qiao Jun stood up from his desk and gritted his teeth,
"Sh*t, I still messed up. What if Miss Wu asked Holea to leave me...Holea won’t hesitate to leave me!"
He hurriedly grabbed his coat and teleported, hoping to reach the location and stop Miss Wu from saying, what he dreaded the most.
..............................
Back at the shooting location.
Yu Holea blinked, feeling slightly surprised, she asked,
"What did you say?"
"I want your boyfriend. Name any price. I am ready to give you. Even if it means billions of yuan. As long as you are ready to leave your boyfriend, I will give you billions." Miss Wu said.
Yu Holea stared at Miss Wu for a moment, then suddenly burst into laughter.
"Billions of yuan? Just to leave Qiao Jun?" she asked, amusement clear in her voice.
Miss Wu remained calm. "Yes. I don’t mind spending that much. As long as you agree."
Yu Holea wiped a tear from the corner of her eye. "Miss Wu, do you think relationships are like business deals? That I can just sell my boyfriend like an object?"
Miss Wu’s expression didn’t change.
"Everything has a price. You just have to name yours."
Yu Holea leaned back on the couch, crossing her arms.
"Even if you offer me the entire world, I still wouldn’t trade Qiao Jun for money."
A flicker of irritation passed through Miss Wu’s eyes. "So you really love him that much?"
Yu Holea smiled. "Of course. Why else would I be with him?"
Miss Wu sighed, tapping her fingers against the armrest. "That’s a shame."
Before Yu Holea could respond, the air around them suddenly shifted. A strong gust of wind blew through the room, making the curtains flutter wildly.
Then, with a flash of light, Qiao Jun appeared in front of them.
He was breathing heavily, as if he had been running for miles. His sharp eyes landed on Miss Wu, filled with anger.
"Miss Wu!" he growled. "You really crossed the line this time!"
Miss Wu smiled, unfazed by his sudden arrival. "Oh? I was just having a friendly chat with your girlfriend."
Qiao Jun clenched his fists. "Trying to buy me with money is not what I call ’friendly.’"
Miss Wu shrugged. "I only made an offer. It was up to her whether to accept it or not."
Qiao Jun turned to Yu Holea, his face filled with worry. "Holea... you didn’t agree, right?"
Yu Holea rolled her eyes. "Of course not. Why would I ever sell you?"
She didn’t lack money.
However...
"Why are you so eager to buy him?" Yu Holea asked Miss Wu.
Unlike other women who had shown interest in Qiao Jun, purely either because they loved him or for money, Miss Wu doesn’t seem to fall into either of the categories.
Miss Wu chuckled,
"Well, it’s like this. I belong to the Wu family of the Capital. I am the heiress and the eldest. Logically speaking I should inherit the Wu family. However, my grandfather has placed a condition. I can only inherit the business if I marry Qiao Jun."
Yu Holea frowned. "That’s ridiculous. What does your family business have to do with Qiao Jun?"
Miss Wu sighed, crossing her legs.
"My grandfather and Qiao Jun’s grandfather were close friends. They made a promise years ago that their families would be connected through marriage.
Since Qiao Jun is the only suitable male from his family, my grandfather insists that I marry him."
Yu Holea raised an eyebrow. "And what does Qiao Jun think about this?"
Miss Wu chuckled. "Obviously, he refused. That’s why I came to you."
Yu Holea narrowed her eyes.
"So, because Qiao Jun won’t marry you, you thought bribing me would work?"
Miss Wu smirked. "It was worth a try. If you didn’t love him that much, you might have taken the money."
Qiao Jun, who had been listening the whole time, stepped forward. His eyes were filled with anger. "Miss Wu, I don’t care about your family’s stupid promise. I will never marry you."
Miss Wu shrugged. "It’s not about love, Qiao Jun. It’s about business. If you marry me, you gain power, connections, and wealth beyond imagination."
Qiao Jun scoffed. "I don’t need any of that. I have everything I need right here." He reached for Yu Holea’s hand and held it tightly.
Miss Wu’s eyes flickered to their joined hands before she sighed. "I see. You’re really not going to change your mind?"
