Chapter 687: Help
Chapter 687: Chapter 687: Help
"I am sure." Yu Holea calmly said. Then she paused before saying, "I can help you though."
Miss Wu was surprised, and her eyes brightened, "You mean to say you are ready to lend your boyfriend."
Qiao Jun instantly looked at Yu Holea with a pitiful gaze. If looks could speak he would have said, ’Wifey don’t sell me!’
Yu Holea chuckled, "No, I am not ready to lend my boyfriend to you. He is not something that can’t be lent."
A dark glint flashed in her eyes as she said those words. The aura around her turned slightly cold.
Miss Wu was stunned, before waving her hand,
"I am sorry Miss Yu, if I have offended you. I have no interest in your boyfriend. As long as you help me inherit my family business, I will remember the favor."
Qiao Jun on the other hand was filled with joy.
For the first time he saw his Holea’s possessive side and it was cool! He loved the look! He couldn’t help but cast a smug glance in Miss Wu’s way.
Wu Nian: "..."
Miss Wu asked curiously,
"So how can you help me?"
"Can you let me read your palm? Also, tell me your grandfather’s birthdate and birthtime." Yu Holea said.
Wu Nian was taken aback but such a strange question.
Miss Wu hesitated for a moment before finally nodding. "Alright."
She stretched out her hand toward Yu Holea, her expression a mix of curiosity and doubt.
Yu Holea gently took Miss Wu’s hand and studied her palm carefully. Qiao Jun leaned closer, watching with interest.
After a few moments, Yu Holea smirked. "Hmm... I see it now."
Miss Wu raised an eyebrow. "See what?"
Yu Holea let go of her hand and leaned back.
"Your luck with love is bad, but your luck in business is strong. Your grandfather believes only Qiao Jun can make you successful, but that’s not true. You can prove yourself without marrying him."
Miss Wu frowned. "And how exactly do I do that?"
Yu Holea smiled mysteriously.
"That’s where your grandfather’s birth date and time come in. If I know that, I can find the best way for you to convince him."
Miss Wu was silent for a moment, then finally said, "He was born on June 15, at exactly midnight."
"Name?" Yu Holea asked.
"Wu Zhongzhi." Miss Wu continued.
"What about the year?" Yu Holea asked.
Wu Nian told her the year.
Yu Holea calculated at her hand and finally asked,
"Did he love his wife a lot?"
"Yes." Wu Nian nodded. It was known on the entire internet how much the head of the Wu family adored his wife.
"Is his wife dead?" Yu Holea asked hesitantly.
Wu Nian nodded again.
"Then the problem is solved. Tell him, that I can help him communicate with his dead wife." Yu Holea answered.
Wu Nian frowned before a hint of confusion appeared in her eyes. She looked at Yu Holea with a hesitant expression, yet she eventually asked,
"Um...are you holding a grudge against me?"
Yu Holea frowned and shook her head, "What? No? Why are you asking such stuff?"
"Otherwise, how can you let my grandmother who died 2 years ago,
"Otherwise, how can you let my grandmother, who died two years ago, talk to my grandfather again?" Wu Nian asked, her voice filled with doubt.
Yu Holea smiled. "I never said I would bring her back to life. I just said I can help him communicate with her."
Wu Nian crossed her arms. "You’re joking, right? Do you expect me to believe in ghosts?"
Yu Holea shrugged. "Believe it or not, that’s up to you. But your grandfather will believe."
Wu Nian stayed silent.
It was true—her grandfather loved her grandmother so much that he never remarried. If there was even a small chance to talk to her again, he would definitely take it.
Wu Nian looked interested now. "How?"
Yu Holea tapped her fingers on the table
"Did you forget to investigate my main profession?"
"I know you are a ghost exorcist, but still..." Wu Nian didn’t finish her words but Yu Holea understood her.
Yu Holea smiled. "Then you already know what I do. I don’t just get rid of ghosts, I can also invite them back."
Wu Nian’s eyes widened. "You mean... you can really call my grandmother’s spirit?"
Yu Holea nodded. "Yes. But only for a short time. And only if she wants to come."
Wu Nian still looked unsure. "But... what if my grandfather finds out it’s fake?"
Yu Holea leaned back, confidence shining in her eyes.
"Who said I was going to invite a fake one?"
"So you are going to invite a real one." Wu Nian asked.
"Of course."
Wu Nian hesitated. "And you’re sure this will work?"
Yu Holea smirked. "Trust me."
Wu Nian let out a deep breath. "Alright. Then let’s do it. Can you take a day off?"
"I will be free after 4 days. You can come find me that day." Yu Holea answered.
Miss Wu agreed.
Before leaving she eyed Yu Holea up and down and couldn’t help but click her tongue,
"You know...you are really my type."
Yu Holea was stunned. While Qiao Jun hurriedly jumped between Wu Nian and Yu Holea.
"Don’t you dare have any other thoughts about my wifey."
Wu Nian rolled her eyes and muttered, "Three-legged toad."
Before waving at stunned Yu Holea and leaving.
Yu Holea blinked, still processing Wu Nian’s last words.
Qiao Jun turned to her with a serious face. "Wifey, you have to stay away from that woman. She’s dangerous."
Yu Holea chuckled. "Dangerous? She’s just joking."
Qiao Jun pouted. "What if she’s not? First, she wanted to take me. Now, she wants to take you. What’s next? Both of us?"
Yu Holea burst into laughter. "You’re thinking too much."
Qiao Jun sighed. "I’m just saying... be careful. I don’t trust her."
Yu Holea smiled and patted his head. "Don’t worry, silly. I only have eyes for you."
Hearing that, Qiao Jun’s mood instantly brightened. "That’s more like it!" He puffed out his chest proudly.
Yu Holea shook her head, amused by Qiao Jun’s dramatic reaction. She reached out and gently pinched his cheek. "You’re such a worrywart."
Qiao Jun pouted and held her hand. "Of course! You’re my wifey. I have to protect you!"
Yu Holea rolled her eyes but couldn’t hide the small smile on her lips. "Alright, alright, my great protector. What do you want as a reward for being so brave?"
Qiao Jun’s eyes lit up instantly. He pointed at his cheek. "A kiss."
Yu Holea raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Just a kiss?"
Qiao Jun nodded eagerly. "A kiss is enough for now. But I might ask for more later." He grinned mischievously.
Yu Holea laughed and leaned in, pressing a soft kiss on his cheek. "There. Happy now?"
Qiao Jun touched his cheek like he was holding the most precious treasure in the world. "Super happy!"
He suddenly grabbed her hand and pulled her close. "But... one more, please?" His voice was softer now, a little shy.
Yu Holea’s heart skipped a beat at the way he was looking at her. His usual playful eyes were filled with warmth, and his smile wasn’t teasing—it was full of love.
She bit her lip, pretending to hesitate. "Hmm... I don’t know..."
Qiao Jun’s grip on her hand tightened slightly. "Wifey, please?"
Yu Holea sighed in defeat. "Fine. But just one more."
Qiao Jun closed his eyes, waiting.
Yu Holea chuckled and leaned forward. This time, she kissed the corner of his lips, just a little closer than before.
Qiao Jun’s eyes flew open, and his face turned bright red. "H-Hey! That wasn’t on the cheek!"
Yu Holea smirked. "Oh? I missed?"
Qiao Jun touched his lips, still blushing. "You... you did that on purpose, didn’t you?"
Yu Holea winked. "Maybe."
Qiao Jun groaned and covered his face. "Wifey, you’re too dangerous."
Yu Holea giggled. "You started it."
Qiao Jun peeked through his fingers. "Then... can I start it again?"
Yu Holea tilted her head. "What do you mean?"
Qiao Jun suddenly pulled her into a hug. "I mean... can I kiss you this time?"
Yu Holea felt her face heat up. She had always teased Qiao Jun, but now that he was taking the lead, she was the one feeling nervous.
She cleared her throat. "O-Only if you’re brave enough."
Qiao Jun took a deep breath, then leaned in slowly. Yu Holea could feel her heart pounding as he got closer.
Then, finally, his lips brushed against hers, soft and gentle. It was warm, sweet, and filled with all the love he had for her.
When they pulled away, Qiao Jun grinned shyly. "Was that okay?"
Yu Holea smiled. "More than okay."
Qiao Jun pumped his fist in victory. "Yes! Best day ever!"
What they didn’t know was, that a phone camera was aimed in their direction and their photo was clicked.
