Chapter 681: Meaningful

Chapter 681: Chapter 681: Meaningful

"I didn’t say anything bad! Stop blaming me!" Qiao Jun shot back, looking frustrated.

"Enough, both of you!" Old Mr. Yu barked, his deep voice silencing them. He looked at Yu Holea with softened eyes.

"Lea, you don’t need to say anything until you’re ready. Just know that we’re here for you, no matter what."

Yu Shuchang stepped forward, his tone unusually gentle.

"Lea, if someone has done something to you, they won’t get away with it. Just give me their name, and I’ll make sure they regret it."

Yu Holea shook her head, her sobs intensifying.

She felt overwhelmed but also touched.

Yu Sile looked close to tears himself. "Lea, please don’t cry! It hurts to see you like this!"

Mrs. Yu wiped Yu Holea’s tears with trembling hands. "Whatever it is, Lea, we’ll fix it together. You’re not alone anymore."

Yu Holea finally managed to choke out through her tears, "No one hurt me... You’re all misunderstanding."

"Then why are you crying?" Sicong asked, still glaring suspiciously at Qiao Jun.

"Because..." Yu Holea sniffled, wiping at her cheeks. "Because... I’m just so... touched."

The room fell silent for a moment as everyone stared at her in confusion.

"Touched?" Mrs. Yu asked softly, her brows furrowing.

"Yes," Yu Holea said, her voice shaky. "You all care so much for me..."

Mrs. Yu hugged her even tighter, her tears falling freely now. "Of course we care about you, Lea! You’re our daughter! No matter what happened in the past, you’re still a part of this family!"

"Always," Shuchang said firmly.

"Forever," Sicong added, his gaze softening.

"You’re stuck with us, whether you like it or not!" Sile said with a small, shaky laugh.

Old Mr. Yu nodded, his expression both stern and loving. "This family is stronger together. We’ve made mistakes, but we’ll do everything we can to make things right."

Yu Holea’s tears slowed as she looked around at her family.

"Lea...what about the reply you were going to give us..." Yu Sile asked in a tentative voice.

Qiao Jun looked at his youngest brother-in-law and sighed in his heart. Yu Sile seemed to be a dumb person...

Sure enough, the other members of the Yu Family glared at Yu Sile, and started to scold him,

"Are you an idiot? Can’t you keep your mouth shut for a while?"

Yet the gaze of the Yu Family eventually shifted to Yu Holea, expecting her to answer Yu Sile’s question.

Yu Sile: "..."

"I thought a lot about everything," Yu Holea began.

"About what happened, about what you all did... and about what I did too."

Her family listened intently, holding their breaths.

"You hurt me," she continued, her eyes glistening with unshed tears.

"You ignored me when I needed you the most. But... I also shut you out. I didn’t give you a chance to make things right."

Mrs. Yu shook her head, tears streaming down her face.

"No, Lea. You don’t have to blame yourself. It was our fault. We—"

"Let me finish," Yu Holea interrupted gently.

"You were wrong, yes. But I can see now that you’re trying to change. And I want to give you that chance."

Shuchang stood, his voice breaking. "Lea... does this mean...?"

"It means," Yu Holea said, her lips trembling into a small smile, "that I’m willing to forgive you. I want to try to be a family again."

The Yu family froze. For a moment, it was as if no one could believe what they just heard.

Mrs. Yu was the first to react. She let out a shaky sob, her hands covering her mouth.

"Lea... Do you really mean it? You forgive us?"

Yu Holea nodded, her small smile growing. "Yes, Mom. I forgive you all."

Mrs. Yu pulled Yu Holea into a tight hug, her tears soaking into Yu Holea’s shoulder.

"Thank you... thank you so much, Lea. I swear, we won’t let you down this time. Never again!"

Old Mr. Yu wiped at his eyes with the back of his hand, his voice steady but emotional.

"You’ve got a strong heart, child. Stronger than all of us. I’m proud of you."

Yu Sicong cleared his throat, his usual confident face looking unsure.

"Lea... I don’t know how to say this, but... I’m really sorry. For all of it. I know words don’t mean much, but I’ll prove it to you. I’ll be a better brother."

Yu Shuchang stepped forward next, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

"I know I was probably the worst of all of us. I was harsh when I shouldn’t have been... And I... I don’t even know if I deserve your forgiveness, but thank you for giving it to me."

He looked at her with an earnest expression. "I’ll make up for everything, Lea. I promise."

Yu Sile, standing to the side, had tears streaming down his face.

"Lea, I always wanted to say sorry, but I was scared you wouldn’t listen. I... I was a coward. I should’ve stood up for you more."

He sniffled, trying to wipe his face quickly.

"But from now on, I’ll be the best little brother you could ask for! You’ll see!"

Yu Holea’s chest felt warm as she listened to their words.

She had never expected to hear such heartfelt apologies from her family.

"Thank you," she said softly, her voice shaking with emotion. "I’m not perfect either, but... let’s all try to be better. Together."

At that moment, Qiao Jun, who had been silently watching from the side, cleared his throat. "Looks like everything’s going well here."

The Yu family turned to him, Shuchang’s gaze narrowing suspiciously again.

"What are you doing here?"

Qiao Jun raised an eyebrow,

"What do you mean by what I am doing here? I am her fiance..."

"Ex-fiance." Yu Sicong interjected.

Qiao Jun grinned, "You seemed to have some misunderstanding. Me and Holea had sorted out the problem. I have also announced to the world that I am her boyfriend."

Yu Sile who had been silent till now shouted,

"So? We didn’t agree to let you her fiance yet!"

Qiao Jun chuckled,

"Oh? Since when do I need your permission, little brother-in-law?"

Yu Sile puffed up his chest, looking like he was about to burst. "I’m not little! And as her family, we have the right to decide if you’re good enough for her!"

Qiao Jun shrugged, leaning casually against the wall.

"Fair enough. But let me ask you this—do you think anyone else in the world would care for Holea as much as I do?"

Yu Shuchang crossed his arms, narrowing his eyes.

"You say that, but actions speak louder than words. You hurt her once before. How do we know you won’t do it again?"

Qiao Jun’s playful smile faded, and he stood up straight. His voice was calm but firm.

"I made mistakes, and I’m not proud of them. But I’ve learned from them. Holea is the most important person in my life, and I’ll do whatever it takes to prove it to all of you."

Yu Sicong scoffed, still not convinced.

"Big words. But can you really back them up?"

"I can." Qiao Jun said with a confident expression.

Yu Shuchang gently smiled,

"And this time words won’t be enough. If you dare to hurt her..."

Mrs. Yu the most experienced of all, suddenly said,

"You men can talk somewhere else, don’t talk here."

Her meaning was: Even if you want to threaten him don’t do it in front of Yu Holea.

The Yu brothers took the hint and changed the topic.

"Holea, now that you have forgiven us...can you live with us?" Yu Shuchang asked tentatively.

Yu Holea looked at her family, their faces filled with hope and worry. She bit her lip, thinking for a moment, then nodded slowly.

"Okay," she said softly. "I’ll stay here... with all of you."

Mrs. Yu let out a gasp of relief and grabbed Yu Holea’s hands tightly. "Really, Lea? You mean it?"

Yu Holea nodded again, her lips curving into a small, genuine smile. "Yes, Mom. I’ll come home."

Yu Sile jumped up with excitement. "Yes! This is the best news ever! Lea is coming back!"

Yu Sicong gave a satisfied smirk, crossing his arms. "Finally, things are going back to how they should be."

Yu Shuchang, standing tall, smiled warmly.

"This is your home, Lea. It always has been. And it always will be."

The word home warmed Yu Holea’s heart.

Home.

She will finally have a home where she will have her own blood-related family.

A strange kind of satisfaction filled Yu Hoela’s heart. the one she never realized she craved for.

Maybe...maybe some part of her heart had already forgiven the Yu Family and wanted to give them a chance but due to her own stubbornness, she always held back.

Now, that she agreed, she gained a lot.

Her own happiness.

Her family.

And a lot of love, care, and warmth.

Her life which was going great, suddenly seemed more meaningful to her.
