Chapter 662: Dinner

Chapter 662: Chapter 662: Dinner

Yu Holea shrugged,

"I am telling the truth, believe it if you want. I just was telling what I knew."

Lin Meixi’s assistant shouted,

"You are just trying to mess with us."

One of the crew members who had been silent till now suddenly said,

"Actually...Miss Yu might be telling the truth. I have heard the same thing from my hometown."

Lin Meixi was stunned.

Even the assistant was silent.

Yu Holea waved her hand and said,

"Anyways, let’s start with the scenes already. We can’t delay the shooting."

The director cast a grateful glance in Yu Holea’s direction.

Lin Meixi’s face turned red with embarrassment, but she didn’t dare to argue. "Fine," she muttered. "I’ll do it."

Within minutes, a crew member brought over a small bowl with a goldfish swimming lazily inside. Lin Meixi had no choice but to take it, holding it awkwardly as she tried to maintain her dignity.

The assistant ended up carrying a second bowl, looking just as miserable.

News started to circulate about the shooting location.

The evening shoot was canceled. The third female lead and her assistant suddenly collapsed.

It wasn’t because they remained unconscious for the rest of time. It was said that when both of them woke up, they kept shouting,

"Don’t push me in water."

When they calmed down, they started to run around the shooting location with a bowl in their hand.

................

Yu Holea finished her shooting earlier and left the shooting location.

Just then a black sedan started to follow her.

Yu Holea smirked and continued to act as if she didn’t know anything.

The black sedan after a while sped up and stopped a few meters ahead of her. The door opened and a masculine voice sounded,

"Lea...shouldn’t you come inside?"

Yu Holea calmly shook her head and said,

"I am sorry, I don’t take rides from strangers."

Though she said so, she stood beside the sedan and didn’t move. From her position, the person sitting inside was clearly visible.

Qiao Jun raised an eyebrow,

"Stranger? Don’t tell me, you know Chu Wugao, but not me."

Yu Holea: "..." What?

The change in the topic caught Yu Holea completely off guard.

Qiao Jun however wasn’t done,

"I heard, his mother wanted to introduce you to him."

Yu Holea coughed,

"That...It was a misunderstanding. Anyways..."

"No anyways. I am not over this topic." Qiao Jun interrupted her.

Yu Holea’s face turned expressionless and she asked, "So tell me what you want."

Qiao Jun with a solemn expression continued, "I want compensation."

Yu Holea calmly sat down inside, and closed the door,

"But I am not ready to give you any compensation. Ouch...my legs are paining."

Qiao Jun frowned, "Why?"

Yet his actions were much smoother. He lifted Yu Holea’s legs, took off her sandals, and started to massage them.

Yu Holea felt her cheeks heat up, but she quickly masked her emotions with a calm expression. She tilted her head slightly and said,

"Qiao Jun, what are you doing? You don’t need to massage my legs."

Qiao Jun didn’t stop, his hands moving gently yet firmly.

"Your legs hurt, right? I’m just helping."

Yu Holea crossed her arms and looked out of the window, pretending not to care.

"I didn’t ask for help."

Qiao Jun smirked, his deep voice teasing,

"But you’re not stopping me either."

She glanced at him, her lips twitching as if she wanted to say something, but she held back. Finally, she sighed,

"You’re so stubborn."

"And you’re too independent," Qiao Jun shot back. "Always trying to handle everything alone."

Yu Holea stayed silent, letting his words sink in.

The car ride became quiet except for the hum of the engine and the rhythmic motion of Qiao Jun’s hands.

After a moment, Qiao Jun looked up and asked, "Feeling better now?"

Yu Holea nodded reluctantly. "Yeah, thanks."

Qiao Jun instantly changed the subject and asked,

"So about my compensation."

"Regarding this, the central government will give you a reply in 7 days." Yu Holea replied with a serious expression.

Qiao Jun was silent before asking,

"Are you truly going to withhold my compensation?"

Yu Holea in a business-like tone explained, "That is the procedure, sir." She sounded like a government clerk.

"You are acting like a rogue!

"Rogue? That is how government is sir." Yu Holea counterattacked.

Qiao Jun calmly nodded, "Fine. Then I will behave like a rogue too."

With that, he leaned toward Yu Holea and captured her lips with his own. His kiss was slightly aggressive, yet it wasn’t aggressive to the point of hurting her.

When he finally pulled back, his face was still close to hers, a sly smirk playing on his lips.

"That’s my compensation," he said in a low voice, his tone both teasing and serious.

Yu Holea rolled her eyes, "Crazy." Yet her flushed cheeks told a completely different story.

"Maybe," he replied, leaning back casually as if nothing had happened.

"But I got what I wanted."

"You—!" Yu Holea pointed at him, her finger trembling with frustration.

"You’re shameless!"

Qiao Jun chuckled, clearly enjoying her reaction.

"You started it with your government act. I’m just following your lead."

Yu Holea glared at him, her lips pressed into a thin line.

Qiao Jun, in a good mood, smiled, "Have you decided where we are going to have dinner?"

No response.

"How about hotpot?"

Yu Holea folded her arms and raised an eyebrow.

"Hotpot? You think I’m in the mood to eat with you after all that?"

Qiao Jun leaned closer, his grin widening.

"Come on, Lea. Hotpot makes everything better. Plus, I’m paying."

She snorted, pretending to think.

"Oh, wow. Are you paying? What an honor."

"See? You already feel special," Qiao Jun said, ignoring her sarcasm.

Yu Holea sighed, glancing out the window.

"Fine. But if the food isn’t good, I’m leaving."

"Deal." Qiao Jun’s smile turned into a triumphant smirk as he started the car.

They drove to a high-end hotpot restaurant and were about to enter when Yu Holea suddenly sensed a highly negative energy in the air.

For ordinary people negative energy was nothing, but for celestial masters, negative energy was like foul-smelling garbage.

Yu Holea looked around to locate the smell, and saw a woman with straight black hair, wearing a white dress that reached to her knees.

Since her back was toward Yu Holea, Yu Holea couldn’t see the woman at all.

She decided to check on her and was about to walk up to her, but her phone. When she saw that it was from a special force, Yu Holea received the call.

On the other side, Luo Murong’s serious voice sounded,

"Holea we looked into the information you have sent and the matter may be even more serious than it seems.

Thousands of luck-changing talismans have already been sold till now. Even though, we have deployed our special force, I don’t think the issue can be handled right away.

To ease the burden on the special forces each member is given the address of 5 people who have bought the luck-changing talisman. You will receive your part of work soon."

Yu Holea raised an eyebrow,

"Huh? Do you mean to say the reward for task completion will be held back and I need to do even more work?"

Luo Murong sighed on the other end of the call.

"Holea, don’t be lazy. This is serious. People’s lives are at risk."

Yu Holea clicked her tongue, annoyed. "Yeah, yeah, I got it. Send me the addresses."

"I already did," Luo Murong replied. "Check your phone. And don’t mess around, okay? This isn’t a game."

"Relax, I’m a pro," Yu Holea said confidently, hanging up before Luo Murong could lecture her more.

She opened the message and scanned the addresses. Five locations, all nearby.

Qiao Jun, who had been leaning casually against the car, raised an eyebrow. "What’s that about?"

"Nothing that concerns you," Yu Holea replied, slipping her phone into her pocket.

"Really?" Qiao Jun smirked. "You’re not planning to ditch dinner, are you?"

"Not yet," Yu Holea said with a shrug. "But if something comes up, you’re on your own."

Qiao Jun laughed. "Fine. Let’s eat first. You’ll need energy for whatever shady business you’re up to."

They entered the restaurant, and soon, the spicy aroma of hotpot filled the air. Yu Holea’s mood lightened as she started to eat.

Once their dinner was over, Yu Holea returned to her villa and decided to sleep.

Just like before she woke up from a nightmare at around 4 am.

It took Yu Holea a few minutes to calm herself down. She again saw the dream of the Yu family sacrificing their lives for her.

It was a bone-chilling experience.

After thinking for a while, she dropped a message to Qiao Jun,

"You up?"

Coincidentally Qiao Jun was awake too, he instantly replied, "Yes."

After hesitating for a while, Yu Holea messaged,

"Can you find a location based on the description?"
