Chapter 621: Together

Chapter 621: Chapter 621: Together

Qiao Jun didn’t believe her for a second.

He shifted to face her, his hands cupping her face gently but firmly, forcing her to look at him. His eyes searched hers, unwavering.

"Lea, you don’t have to carry everything alone," he said firmly. "I’m here. Whatever it is, we’ll face it together."

The sincerity in his tone broke through her defenses, and the tears she had been holding back spilled freely.

"It was about my family... about my mother, my brothers..." Her voice cracked as she tried to piece together her jumbled thoughts.

Qiao Jun stayed silent, letting her take her time.

"They—" she swallowed hard, her voice trembling, "—they were in a ritual. They... they killed themselves, Jun. I saw it. It felt real. Too real."

His eyes darkened, and his grip on her tightened protectively. "A ritual? What kind of ritual?"

"I don’t know," she admitted, shaking her head in frustration.

"I couldn’t hear anything. It’s like the dream didn’t want me to know. But there was blood... so much blood. And their faces..." She paused, her chest tightening.

"My mother was there. My brothers too. But the last person... I don’t know who he was, but I’ve seen him somewhere before."

Qiao Jun’s jaw clenched as he processed her words. "This isn’t just a dream, is it?"

"No," Yu Holea replied, her voice resolute despite the fear in her eyes. "I don’t think so. It feels more like a vision.

He nodded, his expression turning serious. "If that’s the case, we can’t ignore it. What do you need me to do?"

Yu Holea looked at him,

"I do have a plan. I will deal with her. You don’t need to interfere for now."

Qiao Jun stare at Yu Holea for a few seconds before nodding,

"Alright, I won’t interfere." I will directly deal with her.

Yu Mei was a thorn in Yu Holea’s heart. The prime reason why his Yu Holea had to suffer so much.

He didn’t harm her because Yu Holea wanted to deal with Yu Mei herself, but now...

Since she is causing so much trouble she needs to be dealt with.

However, he didn’t show those thoughts on his face and instead put on a smile and pulled Yu Holea toward the bed.

"Come let’s sleep together."

Yu Holea who was still a bit scared, pulled her hand out and created some distance. With a faint smile on her face that didn’t reach her eyes, she stated,

"I am going to sleep on the bed. You will not."

Qiao Jun’s expression twisted into one of exaggerated displeasure, his brows furrowing and his lips curling downward as if he had just been told he couldn’t have dessert after dinner.

He folded his arms, leaning slightly toward Yu Holea with a theatrical sigh.

"How long are you planning to stay angry at me, Lea?" he asked, his voice tinged with mock despair. "Can’t you just forgive me already? It’s been forever."

Yu Holea rolled her eyes, crossing her arms as she stared him down.

"Forever? It’s been three months, Jun. Are you seriously tired of waiting?"

"Yes!" he replied immediately, his head bobbing enthusiastically as though she’d offered him a lifeline.

"I’m exhausted! Mentally, emotionally, physically. Waiting is torture for someone as devoted as me."

His eyes softened as he gazed at her, clearly expecting her to follow up with some sweet, forgiving words.

Yu Holea’s lips quirked into a sly smile.

"Oh, you poor thing," she said, her voice dripping with mock sympathy.

Qiao Jun’s chest puffed up in anticipation.

Yes, here it comes. She’s going to melt and take me back, he thought triumphantly.

But her next words hit him like a bucket of ice water.

"Well, if it’s so hard for you, why don’t you just leave?" she said, her tone almost too casual. "I’ll just find another boyfriend. Someone who isn’t so dramatic."

Qiao Jun froze, his jaw-dropping as his mind scrambled to process her words.

"W-What?" he stammered, his voice a mixture of disbelief and outrage.

Yu Holea’s expression didn’t waver as she shrugged.

"I mean, if waiting for my forgiveness is too much for you, I can’t stop you. I’m sure I’ll manage just fine with someone else."

"Someone else?" Qiao Jun’s voice rose an octave as the words sank in.

His eyes widened, and his face flushed with a mix of anger and jealousy.

"Are you seriously suggesting that I’d let you go near another man?"

"Why not?" Yu Holea shrugged, feigning indifference.

"You’re tired, after all. I wouldn’t want to burden you with the exhausting task of making me forgive you."

Qiao Jun’s expression darkened, and a fiery possessiveness ignited in his eyes.

"No way," he said firmly, crossing his arms over his broad chest. "I’m not letting you go anywhere near another man."

"Really?" Yu Holea teased, tilting her head innocently. "Why not? He might even be better than you."

"Better than me?" Qiao Jun clutched his heart as if physically wounded, his expression morphing into one of desperate pleading.

"Lea, no one is better than me for you. You know that."

"Oh? You seem very sure of yourself," she said, fighting back a grin at his antics.

"I am!" he declared, his voice brimming with conviction.

Then, dropping to his knees by the bed, he clasped his hands together like a begging puppy.

"Lea, please don’t abandon me. I’ll be the best boyfriend, the best husband, the best everything! Just give me another chance."

Yu Holea raised an eyebrow, trying to maintain her composed expression, but his antics were quickly wearing her down.

His soulful eyes, wide and shimmering, practically sparkled with desperation, and his lips jutted out in an adorably exaggerated pout.

"Mr. Qiao, stop acting like a child," she said, though her lips twitched with the beginnings of a smile.

"I’m not acting!" he protested, crawling closer and resting his chin on the edge of the bed. "I’ll do anything to earn your forgiveness. Just don’t even joke about another boyfriend."

"And if I don’t forgive you?" she challenged, crossing her arms.

He gasped dramatically, his expression one of utter devastation.

"Then I’ll have to camp outside your door until you do. Rain, snow, storms—I’ll endure them all! I’ll even write songs about my undying love and sing them under your window until you take me back."

"Songs?" Yu Holea laughed, unable to keep up her act any longer. "You, singing?"

"Yes! And dancing too!" Qiao Jun declared proudly, puffing out his chest. "I’ll even hire a flash mob if that’s what it takes!"

Yu Holea shook her head, her laughter spilling out freely now.

"You’re impossible, you know that?"

"I’m your impossible," he said, his voice softening as he looked up at her with a warm, genuine smile. "And I’ll never stop trying to make you happy."

Yu Holea’s heart melted. But she changed her expression and asked calmly.

"Have you dealt with Aunt Mila, Uncle Miller, and Vivian?"

"Yes." Qiao Jun nodded immediately.

"Good. Then go back and rest. I am going to sleep too."

Qiao Jun’s shoulders sagged dramatically, his proud demeanor crumbling like a house of cards. He gave Yu Holea a pitiful look, his lips curving downward in a mournful pout.

"When, Lea?" he asked softly, his voice tinged with a mix of exasperation and longing. "When will you forgive me?"

Yu Holea leaned back against the headboard, tapping her chin thoughtfully as if she were seriously considering his question.

Her eyes sparkled mischievously, but her face remained composed.

"Hmmm..." she mused, her tone deliberately slow, "I might take a lifetime."

Qiao Jun blinked, his mouth opening slightly in surprise.

For a moment, silence stretched between them as he processed her words.

"A lifetime?" he repeated, his voice rising slightly in disbelief.

"Yes," she replied with a small nod, her face as serene as a lake on a calm day. "At least."

Instead of being deterred, Qiao Jun straightened his back, his expression shifting into one of resolute determination. He nodded as if he had just been handed an important mission.

"Alright," he said firmly. "If that’s what it takes, I’ll wait a lifetime. And even after that, if I have to."

Yu Holea’s calm façade cracked as an amused chuckle slipped out.

"Jun, you’re ridiculous," she said, shaking her head with a small smile. "You’d really wait a lifetime?"

"For you?" he replied, his voice soft and genuine. "Always."

Her smile faltered for a moment, and she felt a flicker of warmth in her chest.

As frustrating and dramatic as Qiao Jun could be, he always managed to disarm her with his sincerity.

Still, she couldn’t let him win that easily.

"Well, if you’re serious," she said, leaning forward slightly, "then you can start by giving me some space tonight."

Qiao Jun’s face fell again, and he looked like a dejected puppy that had just been told to stay outside in the rain.

"But—"

"No buts," Yu Holea cut him off, pointing toward the door with a stern but playful glare.
