Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All -
Chapter 620: Dungeon
Chapter 620: Chapter 620: Dungeon
In a dark dungeon.
A few people in cloaks were marching in one direction. They had a knife in one hand and a candle in another.
The hood of the black cloak covered the faces of those people, who, though varying in height, had the same aura.
Gloomy. Emotionless. Filled with longing.
Yu Holea in her soul form was baffled. However, her heart ached when she saw the cloaked people.
Who were they? And how can they affect her even without showing their face to her?
Strange...so strange...
After the incident from 3 years ago, Yu Holea learned to take her dream seriously. She followed the figures and soon reached a room.
There was a huge circular platform in the room with strange symbols illuminated by the sunlight peering through the small hole in the ceiling. Instead of walls, there were pillars. It gave off ancient vibes, but Yu Holea kept on feeling as if she knew the place.
Before she could remember where she had seen it, those black cloak people stepped onto the circular platform and stood at a distance of 3 feet from each other.
Yu Holea’s heart tightened. Her instincts were telling her to stop them.
’I should follow my instincts.’
Thinking so Yu Holea made some hand gesture. In the dream realm, nothing can be brought including talismans, until and unless she uses some special method.
So Yu Holea decided to use hand seals, which she had learned from the goddess city.
It worked every time, so Yu Holea was sure it would work this time too. But to her surprise, nothing happened. It was as if her attack had punched a cotton wall.
’What’s happening? Am I having visions of the future?’ Yu Holea wondered.
The small figure among the cloaked individuals caught her attention immediately.
Unlike the others, who had a more imposing presence, this person’s petite stature stood out.
Yu Holea estimated the figure’s height at about 5’5"—a good deal shorter than her own 5’9".
Who could it be? she wondered, her heart sinking under the weight of dread.
The thought that it might be someone she knew gnawed at her.
She guessed it could be Qiao Li or Sheng Yin, given the small build, while the taller figures might be Qiao Jun, Qiao Zixin, Qiao Zirui, or Qiao Zifei.
But something didn’t feel right.
Yu Holea narrowed her eyes, focusing on their auras—bleak, detached, and heartbreakingly filled with longing.
The wax began to melt quickly, dripping onto their hands.
Yu Holea’s breath hitched as she saw the wax burning their flesh.
The pain should have made them flinch, but they didn’t even react.
She focused on the smallest figure again, trying to discern their identity. As she squinted, something inside her twisted.
No... this can’t be right.
Her mind rebelled against the creeping realization that this wasn’t Qiao Li or Sheng Yin.
The energy radiating from the figure felt far too familiar, far too personal.
Why does this feel like—
The ritual began before she could complete her thought.
The figures raised their hands, holding the candles aloft.
Their breaths shifted into a steady rhythm, almost as if they were chanting, but Yu Holea couldn’t hear any sound.
It was as though the dream realm muffled their voices, letting her see but not hear.
The silence felt like a cruel joke, leaving her helpless and unable to intervene.
The figures’ breathing grew heavier as the ritual intensified.
Yu Holea’s heart stopped when she saw them lift their knives, the blades glinting in the dim light.
Her stomach churned as realization dawned on her—they weren’t just performing a ritual. They were preparing for a sacrificial act.
"No!" Yu Holea cried out, her voice echoing in the vast, ancient space.
She surged forward, desperation overtaking her, but she was repelled again by an invisible force.
Her horror peaked when the figures slashed their own necks in unison.
Blood sprayed across the platform as their bodies collapsed, lifeless, their heads rolling to the ground like discarded dolls.
Yu Holea screamed, her ethereal voice raw with anguish. Her eyes darted to the smallest figure, who had fallen with an eerie grace.
As the hood slipped from their head, her breath caught in her throat. It wasn’t Qiao Li or Sheng Yin.
It was her mother. Mrs. Yu.
"No..." The word escaped her lips in a whisper, trembling with disbelief.
She turned her gaze to the other figures, hoping against hope that her guesses were wrong.
But as the hoods fell back, she recognized them instantly: Yu Shuchang, Yu Sicong, and Yu Sile.
The fourth man, however, remained a mystery. His face was unfamiliar, yet Yu Holea felt she had seen him before.
Her heart shattered into a thousand pieces as she stared at their lifeless forms.
Despite everything, despite her broken ties with the Yu family and her vows to never forgive them, she didn’t want this. She didn’t want them slaughtered like this—soulless, empty, and discarded.
Tears streamed down her face as she dropped to her knees, clutching her chest.
The dream realm began to distort, the images blurring as her emotions overwhelmed her. She tried to steady herself, to think rationally.
Was this truly the future? she wondered, her hands trembling. If it is, then I can’t let this happen. I won’t let this happen.
’But for whom they were doing this?’
Once that question popped in Yu Holea’s mind cleared.
There were many possibilities.
Maybe they were forced by someone...who?
Yu Mei.
That was the only person Yu Holea can think of.
But if it was Yu Mei why didn’t she see Yu Mei near them?
Or maybe they were doing the sacrificial act for someone...who?
But most importantly, she needed to stop this from becoming a reality.
With that, the dream dissolved into darkness, leaving Yu Holea gasping for breath as she woke.
The lingering ache in her chest reminded her that this was more than just a dream—it was a warning.
She wiped away her tears and called her subordinates. At the same time, she starts to rummage through the books she has.
The novel she had read in her previous life. She didn’t know of its origin, but it can be used as a reference for now, right?
She had smartly written down all the plots when she had time so that she wouldn’t forget them in the future.
When the call with her subordinate was connected Yu Holea got straight to the point,
"Did you find the item?"
"Ma’am it will take a few more days." The person on the other end replied in a respectful tone.
Yu Holea paused just for a second before asking,
"What about the other work?"
"We found them."
A glint of coldness flashed in Yu Holea’s eyes and she said,
"Once they are here, bring them to me, I want to inquire about some things."
"Yes, Ma’am."
Yu Holea hung up the call and started to go through the novels. There were many plots from which Yu Holea had managed to escape.
After all, she wasn’t living in a novel, so she could escape those plots.
Such as when Yu Mei was about to debut, Yu Holea’s reputation was already in shambles. And Yu Holea never succeeded in becoming even a second female lead in a movie, but she did.
However, right now Yu Holea wasn’t concerned about those scenes, she was concerned about what had happened to the Yu Family.
But the more Yu Holea turned the pages, the more she frowned. The Yu Family’s mention toward the end becomes more and more spare.
At some point, they were even shown as a neutral party.
Towards the end, though they didn’t help Yu Holea, they didn’t continue to degrade her.
In fact...at one point they all started to ask Yu Holea to leave for abroad...
Earlier Yu Holea saw it as an injustice, but now...what if...what if they realized that they couldn’t break through Yu Mei’s influence and wanted to send Yu Holea away?
Yu Holea’s heart skipped a beat.
No...right?
It can’t...it can’t mean that!
With trembling hands, Yu Holea closed the book and held her head.
’Don’t think too much! That book is just a life story of your previous life! The Yu Family deserves not to be forgiven! Yes! They weren’t good to you in your previous life!
You have the Qiao Family, good friends, a lover, and many more people! You don’t need them!’
Suddenly a warm hand hugged her from behind.
Yu Holea’s trembling subsided slightly as the warm hand on her shoulder pulled her into an embrace.
Before she could attack, the familiar soothing fragrance wafted in her nose calming her down.
"Lea, are you alright?" A manly voice filled with concern asked. "What happened?"
Yu Holea hesitated.
"I..." she began, her voice cracking. She quickly turned her face away to hide the tears that had begun to gather in her eyes. "It’s nothing. Just a bad dream."
