Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All -
Chapter 609: Connections
Chapter 609: Chapter 609: Connections
The night passed in a blur.
From their conversation, Yu Holea reached a conclusion. Olivia wasn’t the culprit.
She was still the same innocent but clever girl.
Even her parents were good.
Her dad was actually hunted by his brother who wanted to kill Philip for inheritance.
One day when those forces reached America, Philip and Emily decisively cut off their relationship with Olivia, so that she could survive.
Both of them started to confront the forces by themselves.
The reason why Olivia couldn’t find any traces of them was because they were the ones who misled her.
However, they never expected Olivia to get scammed.
Later when Olivia returned to confront the fake Mr. Amber, they hinted to her to stay away from them for the time being and that they would find her later.
Olivia instantly gave up and focused on her company.
She slowly expanded to different fields. After 3 years her parents finally contacted her again.
They were still in the middle of a confrontation with Philip’s Brother but now Philip and his enemy aka his brother were locked in a stalemate. Both sides had suffered heavy losses, making it impossible for either to claim victory
When they finally contacted Olivia after three years, their reunion was bittersweet.
While they couldn’t reveal every detail of the ongoing conflict, they assured her that they were safe and were working to end the chaos.
Yu Holea however fished out a very important news from Philip.
Philip’s brother’s name was Miller.
The room grew silent as Yu Holea sat forward, her usually calm demeanor charged with excitement.
Philip, Emily, and Olivia exchanged uncertain glances, caught off guard by her sudden intensity.
"Philip," Yu Holea began, her tone measured but eager, "does your brother, Miller, have a foothold in Europe?"
Philip’s brows furrowed, his suspicion evident. "Yes... how do you know that?"
Yu Holea pressed on, her gaze sharp.
"And does he have a wife named Mila and a daughter named Vivian?"
Philip’s eyes widened in shock, and Emily gasped. "He does," Philip confirmed, his voice a mix of surprise and caution.
"Mila and Vivian are deeply involved in his affairs. But how do you know all of this?"
Yu Holea’s heart raced with the pieces clicking together.
Mila... Vivian... Miller. The connections were becoming too clear to ignore.
She leaned back in her chair, a faint but unmistakable smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
"It’s just that I’ve recently come across some interesting information, and it’s starting to add up."
She paused, savoring the thrill of her discovery.
"Olivia... she has the power of hypnosis, doesn’t she? And, considering her family ties, she’s connected to Miller’s bloodline, isn’t she?"
’That means Olivia, being Miller’s niece and having inherited the ability of hypnosis, could be the key to breaking a very ancient and dangerous blood ritual.’
Olivia nodded.
Yu Holea turned her attention to Olivia, her expression softening slightly.
"Olivia, I need your help. And I promise that if you agree, I’ll help you take down Miller once and for all."
Olivia blinked, utterly confused.
"What? Take down, Miller? Holea, what are you talking about? Why would you want to—?"
"Because this isn’t just about your family," Yu Holea interrupted her voice firm but not unkind.
Philip and Emily leaned forward, their concern mounting.
"Explain yourself," Philip said. "Why do you need Olivia’s help? What does she have to do with any of this?"
Yu Holea drew a deep breath, organizing her thoughts.
"Miller, Mila, and Vivian aren’t just causing trouble for you. They’ve also been targeting me—directly and indirectly. They recently summoned a powerful spirit to try and harm me.
But that’s not the real issue. The real issue is the blood ritual they performed on someone I care about."
"A blood ritual?" Emily echoed, her voice trembling.
Yu Holea nodded gravely.
"They performed a ritual on my close one. It’s a dark spell that hypnotizes and forces a person to obey their every command.
This isn’t just a casual enchantment—it’s a binding that strips away their free will entirely."
Emily gasped, her hands flying to her mouth in horror. Philip’s expression darkened, his jaw tightening as he leaned back in his chair
"Olivia’s ability—her power of hypnosis—might be the key to undoing the damage." Yu Holea continued.
"But how?" Olivia questioned.
"That..."
After dinner, Yu Holea was satisfied and thought of calling Qiao Jun. She unblocked his number and gave him Olivia’s number while explaining everything to him.
Coincidentally she met a man whom she didn’t want to see.
Li Jinhai.
The disgusting man who wanted to recruit her to his company and cut off her career.
Yu Holea just wanted to ignore him but Li Jinhai was much faster than her. Once his eyes landed on her, he walked up to her and said with a smile,
"Miss Holea! Long time no see."
Yu Holea’s eyes narrowed at Li Jinhai’s approaching figure, his confident smile sending a wave of irritation down her spine.
"Mr. Li," she replied coolly, her tone neutral but sharp enough to cut through the pretense. "Yes, it’s been a while. I see you’re still meddling in places you don’t belong."
Li Jinhai chuckled, seemingly unfazed by her barb.
"Ah, Miss Holea, your wit is as sharp as ever. I must say, it’s always refreshing to see someone who doesn’t beat around the bush."
"Thank you for the compliment. I will leave then." Yu Holea said and turned to leave, but Li Jinhai blocked her path and said,
"What is the rush, Miss Yu? Can’t you listen to what I have to say?"
The polite smile on Yu Holea’s face vanished and she rolled her eyes,
"What do you want, Mr. Li?"
Li Jinhai’s smile widened, his tone dripping with feigned sincerity.
"I simply wanted to check on you, Miss Holea. You’ve been making waves lately, and I can’t help but admire your tenacity. Surely, you’ve considered how much more we could accomplish if we worked together?"
Yu Holea suppressed the urge to roll her eyes. She had heard this pitch before.
"Recruit me again?" she asked with a hint of mock amusement. "I thought I made it clear last time—I’m not interested in becoming one of your pawns."
Li Jinhai raised his hands in mock surrender, his grin never wavering.
"Now, now, let’s not call it ’pawns.’ I prefer the term ’partners.’ You’re a smart woman, Miss Holea. You must know there are bigger threats out there. Aligning with me could secure your position against... less favorable outcomes."
He stared at Yu Holea up and down. Lust was dripping from his eyes as he continued,
"If you give me enough I promise to give you enough in return too."
Yu Holea’s eyes darkened, her once-neutral expression transforming into something icy and dangerous.
She stepped closer to Li Jinhai, her heels clicking sharply against the floor, the sound reverberating in the quiet hallway.
"Mr. Li," she began, her voice calm but carrying an undertone that sent a chill down his spine. "Let me make something very clear to you."
Li Jinhai’s confident grin faltered slightly as he noticed the storm brewing in her eyes.
"You think you can buy me? Control me? Treat me like some... commodity?" Her voice grew colder, sharper with each word.
"Newsflash: I don’t need your offers. I don’t need your ’protection.’ And I certainly don’t need you looking at me like that."
The last sentence hit like a whip. Li Jinhai flinched, his mask of arrogance slipping.
But before he could recover, Yu Holea took one more step forward, now invading his personal space. Her voice dropped to a whisper, laced with venom.
"If you ever look at me like that again—or dare to speak to me as if I owe you anything—I will make sure you regret it in ways you can’t even imagine."
Li Jinhai gulped but to look confident he showed an angry expression and threatened Yu Holea,
"Woman you should watch your words. You don’t know how well-connected I am. Once I snap my finger, your entire career will be ruined."
Yu Holea’s expression didn’t change, but the air around her grew colder, almost suffocating. Her sharp eyes locked onto Li Jinhai’s, freezing him in a place like prey caught in a predator’s sights.
"Connections?" she said softly, her tone deceptively calm. "Is that what you think gives you power, Mr. Li? Money? Influence? The ability to ruin lives with a snap of your fingers?"
Li Jinhai opened his mouth to respond, but Yu Holea raised a single finger, silencing him instantly.
"Let me tell you something about power," she continued, taking a step closer. Her voice carried an edge so sharp it could cut steel. "Real power isn’t about ruining others. It’s about surviving and thriving, no matter what pathetic little threats people like you throw my way."
Li Jinhai tried to maintain his composure, but the sweat on his brow betrayed him.
"And as for my career," Yu Holea added, her smile cold and unyielding, "Even your dad won’t be able to ruin it. Let alone you."
