"And most importantly he doesn’t remember you. How come he would know that you will be hurt by those words?

Lea understanding your partner doesn’t mean you have to bear everything and act as if everything is okay when you are hurt.

"A true understanding partner knows when to communicate and when to speak up about their own feelings too," Sheng Yin continued, her voice gentle but firm.

"You don’t always have to pretend to be okay, Lea.

If something bothers you, talk to him. Holding it in will only create a gap between you two, and you deserve better than that. You both do."

"I know you’re right," Yu Holea whispered, feeling a lump form in her throat. "I thought I could handle it... I thought if I stayed silent, I’d spare him the pressure. But it’s starting to feel like... like I’m losing him."

Sheng Yin pulled Yu Holea into a gentle embrace, her voice soft.

"You won’t lose him if you talk to him, Lea. You’ll only lose him if you keep pushing him away without giving him a chance to understand what you’re going through."

Yu Holea nodded, though a part of her was still scared. Scared of confronting the feelings she had been trying to suppress.

Scared of hearing what Qiao Jun might say if she truly opened up to him.

"But what if he..." she hesitated, "that was his actual feelings?"

"Then so it be. Qiao Jun will someday remember his memory. Once he does, he will continue to love you.

So what he doesn’t feel that way now? It is only a matter of time before he continues to feel what he felt for you previously."

Yu Holea’s furrowed brows relaxed,

"You are right. I will call him."

"Good." Sheng Yin patted Yu Holea’s head and said, "Just remember, clear the misunderstanding before the third person creates more misunderstandings."

Qiao Jun was on the balcony of his floor when a hand tapped on his back.

When he turned around he saw Qiao Li standing behind him.

"Brother? What happened? Why are you so sad? You even skipped the dinner." Qiao Li frowned.

"Nothing." Qiao Jun shook his head but suddenly remembered that Qiao Li was Yu Holea’s best friend and asked,

"You...do you know who was Holea...I mean Miss Yu’s first crush?"

Qiao Li was surprised by Qiao Jun’s sudden question and a smile formed on her face,

"You only want to know that? Hahaha...Sure I will tell you, how he looks. He is better looking than you, because of his gentle aura."

Qiao Jun clenched his fist and instantly defended himself,

"I can be gentle too."

"But you lack in terms of gentleness. The gentleness her first crush radiated was the gentleness he had preserved for only for her." Qiao Li pointed out.

Qiao Jun couldn’t utter a single word.

"Um...her first crush was a talent too. He can compete with you in terms of talent. He has a nice background too."

The more Qiao Jun listened, the more hostile he felt toward whoever the first crush of Yu Holea was.

Qiao Li smiled when she felt she had achieved her goal. She wanted to tease her brother a bit more before telling the truth.

"Maybe she will never forget her first crush in her life ever."

Just then her phone rang. With a confused expression, Qiao Li picked up the call.

The words said to her was maybe horrific because her face changed and Qiao Li tapped on Qiao Jun’s hand hurriedly,

"Brother bad news! Dad had an accident."

Qiao Jun’s face changed too.

By the time Yu Holea received the news it was already the next morning. She informed Sheng Yin about Mr. Qiao’s accident and turned to leave.

Sheng Yin was the person who was most confused.

After all, Mr. Qiao never had an accident in her previous life.

Soon Yu Holea reached the hospital and went to room no. reported by Qiao Li.

She could hear Mr. Qiao’s kind voice as he said,

"I am fine, it was a minor accident. The truck driver was a heavily drunk and he has already been sentenced."

Yu Holea hesitated for a moment before entering the room.

When she stepped inside, the sight of Mr. Qiao sitting up in bed, looking tired but otherwise unharmed, filled her with a wave of relief.

His warm, kind eyes landed on her, and he smiled.

"Ah, Holea, you’ve come," he said, his voice gentle as always.

"I’m sorry to worry you. It was just a small accident, nothing to fuss over."

Other than Qiao Jun, the room had Qiao Li, Qiao Jun, Qiao Zixin, Qiao Zirui, Qiao Zifei, Mrs. Qiao, Aunt Mila, Vivian, and a strange man.

Yu Holea simply looked at the black clouds on Qiao Heng’s head and gritted her teeth.

She knew it.

"Uncle, did you go to some unclean place?" Yu Holea asked in a soft tone.

Qiao Heng was surprised and shook his head.

"No. I just was returning from my office and met your Uncle Miller. Thanks to him, I avoided the attack and didn’t get too much injured."

Yu Holea stared at a strange-looking man named Uncle Miller.

Uncle Miller had fair skin, deep black eyebrows, long lashes, and finely shaped lips. If it wasn’t for the cut on his left cheek, he would look as handsome as Qiao Heng.

Uncle Miller had a friendly aura around him and he looked at Yu Holea with a kind smile.

Yu Holea clenched her fist when she saw Uncle Miller’s kind smile.

She walked in his direction but before she could touch him to know the truth, Vivian pushed Yu Holea away,

"Stay away from my dad. He didn’t do anything. He just wanted to discuss with Uncle Qiao about the company matters!"

Qiao Li pulled Yu Holea behind her and said,

"Vivian, could you tone down your voice? Did Lea ask anything? Why are you rushing to defend Uncle? Did any of us say anything?

If you can’t talk properly and only know how to bark then shut your mouth."

Vivian who wanted to use this incident to scold Yu Holea froze.

Unwillingness appeared in her eyes for a brief moment.

"Vivian, is this your manner to talk with Jun’s fiance?" Uncle Miller frowned. "Apologize right now!"

"But dad she..." Vivian was about to argue but Unlce Miller glared at her.

With no choice, Vivian gritted her teeth and lowered her head to look at the floor. Her stance was clear she wasn’t going to compromise.

"You..." Uncle Miller’s face turned red from anger.

"Dear please don’t be so harsh. She understands her mistake." Aunt Mila interrupted when she saw the Qiao Family had no plan to stop Uncle Miller.

In fact, the entire Qiao Family was angry with Vivian’s words, and if they were given a chance they just wanted to scold her.

How can she say such words about Yu Holea?

But once they heard Uncle Miller’s angry voice they could only keep quiet.

Yu Holea suddenly broke the tension and said,

"If Uncle Miller doesn’t mind, can you let me touch you? I just want to ensure that you haven’t been infected by the dark energy.

You see Uncle Qiao was infected by the dark energy and hence he had an accident. So I will advise you to cleanse you."

"Ah? Is that so? Dear, no need. I have a cross with me that protects me from all the dark energy.

If possible please cleanse him." Uncle Miller said and pointed his finger in Qiao Heng’s direction.

"I will cleanse him for sure. But first I would like to cleanse you." Yu Holea insisted.

Vivian was instantly angry,

"Why are you insisting so much? Can’t you understand? My father doesn’t like to be touched!"

Yu Holea gave up.

After all, Vivian wasn’t wrong.

It was Uncle Miller’s free will.

"I apologize." Yu Holea said calmly. She gave one last look to Uncle Miller before turning toward Qiao Heng and holding his hand.

In a soft voice, she chanted a spell.

Qiao Heng only felt his body warm up as Yu Holea’s gentle spell washed over him.

After a few moments, Yu Holea released Qiao Heng’s hand, wiping a thin sheen of sweat from her brow.

"There, Uncle. You should feel better now. The dark energy has been cleansed."

"Thank you, Holea. I do feel lighter."

The family members talked with each other for a few hours and finally, Uncle Miller and the other two members of his family left.

Once they left, Qiao Li held Qiao Heng’s hand and asked,

"Father, what actually happened?"

The smile on Qiao Heng’s face disappeared.

"I don’t know. Just a few hours ago, I was on the way home, when suddenly out of nowhere I saw Miller.

I tried to ignore him but he called me right away and I could only let him sit in my car."
