Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All -
Chapter 541: Dream Demon
Chapter 541: Chapter 541: Dream Demon
"I never went to any theatre school." Yu Holea shook her head.
"What?" Ni Wulin was surprised. "How can that be possible? You act so well!"
"I learned from... different experiences." Yu Holea smiled.
"Different experiences? What kind of experiences could make someone act like that without training?" Ni Wulin asked expectantly, if possible even she wanted to experience those things.
"Sometimes, living is the best acting class."
Ni Wulin was about to press further, her curiosity piqued, but Director Ou clapped his hands to regain the group’s focus.
"Alright, everyone. Let’s move on to our next scene."
Ni Wulin quietly walked out of her seat and sat beside Yu Holea.
The script reading continued.
Yu Holea slowly got the chance to find the source of the black energy and realized it was being emitted by one of the women with faded grey hair.
The woman had a dark circle under her which she tried her very best to hide through concealer.
The more she looked at the woman, the more curious Yu Holea became.
She muttered,
"Wait...she is getting haunted by a Dream Demon!"
Dream Demon as the name suggests, feeds on the nightmares of humans. 90% of the dream demons are of a gentle nature and never harm any humans.
However, there are a few Dream Demons who, after failing to find suitable targets, decide to forcefully induce nightmares in humans, making their prey’s lives unbearable.
The more terrified the person is, the stronger the demon becomes.
Yu Holea’s eyes narrowed as she studied the woman, who seemed completely unaware of the sinister energy clinging to her.
Dream Demons were tricky creatures—neither fully malicious nor entirely innocent.
They were one of the few existences, whom the special force didn’t dare to touch.
"Yu Holea it’s your turn." Director Ou’s shout brought Yu Holea back to her senses and she nodded,
"Oh? Yes." Yu Holea said and continued with her dialogue.
Finally, after half an hour, the team decided to take a rest.
"Miss Yu, you really are something else, aren’t you? No training, no audition, and yet... you outshined everyone." Mo Jiang commented with a smile.
How could Yu Holea not understand the underlying meaning in Mo Jiang’s words and said,
"Thank you, Miss Mo. Your praise means a lot coming from someone as... experienced as you."
Mo Jiang’s smile stiffened slightly, but she quickly recovered, her eyes narrowing playfully.
"I hope you keep up this level of performance. We wouldn’t want to see you fall from that pedestal."
Yu Holea’s smile didn’t waver.
"I’ll do my best. But remember, Miss Mo, the higher the pedestal, the more fun the view."
Mo Jiang chuckled, though it didn’t reach her eyes. "I guess we’ll see, won’t we?"
Others were a bit surprised by the sudden change in Mo Jiang. Wasn’t she acting sweet with Yu Holea just a few minutes before? Why has she suddenly turned against Yu Holea?
Yu Holea calmly drank a cup of water and continued to read the script.
She understood that Mo Jiang didn’t like the fact that she praised Ni Wulin and hence she made things difficult for her.
Just then, the doors to the set swung open, and the male and female leads finally arrived, creating a stir among the crew.
Vivian, with her classic beauty and refined aura, strode in confidently, while Zhan Yibao followed close behind, exuding an effortless charm that had made him a fan favorite.
Looking at their forced smile Yu Holea laughed in her heart.
She was curious about their relationship now. Did they break up after knowing what they think of each other or...did they continue to stay in a relationship?
Unsurprisingly Vivian and Zhan Yibao acted as if nothing had happened.
They even went as far as eyeing each other in an ambiguous way.
Both of them sat together and apologized to the crew,
"We are sorry. We didn’t mean to be late, but one of the major brands suddenly acted us to shoot a video of us bickering.
They even unreasonably demand that we shoot it right away, or else they would take back the endorsement from us. Left with no choice we did as we were said to.
In order to compensate we will pay for the dinner."
Zhan Yibao was the one who explained everything while Vivian nodded with a smile throughout the explanation.
The crew members shook their heads and smiled but they felt uncomfortable in their hearts.
Ni Wulin rolled her eyes and asked,
"Yeah right...as if a meal could return us our time."
She loved Zhan Yibao and considered him her idol but when she heard his pathetic lie and how different his personality seemed from the one she had heard, her heart was broken.
Vivian frowned and said softly,
"Miss we are trying our best to compensate. We truly can’t bring back the time wasted but I can assure you that we will never waste your time again."
Ni Wulin smiled and asked,
"And who are you?"
Vivian didn’t back down and introduced,
"I am the female lead of the movie. My name is Vivian Davis."
"I haven’t heard your name in the field of the entertainment industry. Please enlighten me as to how you got your role?" Ni Wulin asked with a smile.
"Just like you did. By auditioning." Vivian smiled widely.
Mo Jiang suddenly said,
"Wulin why can’t you keep your mouth? What if she blacklists you?"
She wasn’t saying her words loudly but it was just enough to fall in everyone else’s ears.
Vivian stared at Mo Jiang who smiled and said,
"Miss Vivian please ignore this woman, she loves to cause trouble."
"Hm. What is your name? I can feel that you are highly intelligent." Vivian commented.
All the other crew members regretted not reprimanding Ni Wulin before. Just from one look one can tell that Vivian belonged to a wealthy family!
If they could gain her favor, maybe in the future they won’t have to worry about not getting roles!
"Intelligent? She is more like a green tea b*tch. And if you feel that she is intelligent then maybe you are like her too." Ni Wulin rolled her eyes and commented.
"Pfft..." Yu Holea couldn’t control herself and laughed.
Yu Holea’s sudden laughter caught everyone off guard.
All eyes turned to her, some filled with shock, others with amusement, and a few with clear annoyance.
Vivian’s eyes narrowed slightly at Yu Holea, her polite smile fading for a moment before she regained her calm.
"I’m sorry," Yu Holea said, wiping the corners of her eyes with a sly smile. "It’s just... Ni Wulin has such a way with words. It’s rare to see someone so honest and straightforward in this industry."
Vivian’s smile became strained, but she quickly regained it and said,
"Yes, honesty is... refreshing. Though sometimes, it’s best to keep certain thoughts to oneself, wouldn’t you agree, Miss Yu?"
Zhan Yibao nodded,
"I think so too. Saying and doing whatever a person wants could lead to their demise sooner or later."
He was pointing out that he would take revenge on Yu Holea later.
Yu Holea nodded, unfazed.
"Oh, absolutely. But sometimes, hearing the truth out loud is much more entertaining, don’t you think?"
She reminded them how she made them tell their true thoughts just a few seconds ago. And if they continued to provoke her she would not back down.
Her threats were effective because the next second, the faces of Vivian and Zhan Yibao turned red from anger.
Yet they shut their mouth and ignored her.
Their behavior didn’t go unnoticed by the crew. Some of them were curious and some of them were worried.
The person who was worried the most was Mo Jiang.
Just a few moments ago she was flattering Yu Holea because she thought, Yu Holea was close to the director Ou.
However, her assistant who happened to watch the fight between Vivian and Zhan Yibao immediately recorded their fight and sent it to Mo Jiang.
Hence Mo Jiang turned against Yu Holea.
Maybe Yu Holea knows director Ou, but the lead actor Zhan Yibao knows many more famous directors.
So she gave up on Yu Holea and sided with Zhan Yibao and Vivian.
And her instinct was telling her that she was choosing the right side from the way Vivian looked.
Yet when she saw how Yu Holea had made Zhan Yibao and Vivian shut up their mouth, Mo Jiang started to wonder whether she had made the right decision or not.
Vivian and Zhan Yibao continued to socialize a little to dissipate the dissatisfaction in the crew’s hearts.
All this while they ignored Yu Holea. Mainly because they didn’t want to provoke her, but to also tell others that she and they were at odds and whoever dared to talk with her would be ignored by them too.
Ni Wulin rolled her eyes and felt a little sad for Yu Holea.
"I hope I am not too late." A greasy voice said.
