Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All -
Chapter 539: Tearing Each Other Apart
Chapter 539: Chapter 539: Tearing Each Other Apart
He opened his mouth to retaliate but was at a loss for words; it was as if his thoughts were no longer his own.
Instead, what came out was,
"Oh, that’s rich coming from someone who couldn’t act her way out of a paper bag! You’ve been riding on everyone’s coattails for so long, you probably forgot how to walk on your own."
The crowd gasped, and a ripple of laughter broke out among the onlookers. Zhan Yibao’s eyes widened in horror at his own words, but he couldn’t stop.
"And that ’elegant figure’ you’re so proud of? It’s bought and paid for, sweetheart! I’ve seen more natural curves on a parking cone!"
Vivian’s jaw dropped, her face turning beet red.
She shot back,
"Oh, please, Zhan! You’re one to talk about coattails when you’ve been living off your family’s money like some glorified man-child!
Your idea of hard work is pretending to know what you’re doing when you’re too busy throwing tantrums over parking spots!"
"Let’s not forget the times you’ve cried to me about losing followers because someone else’s selfie got more likes. It’s pathetic!" Zhan Yibao shot back.
The onlookers were now laughing openly, some even recording the scene with their phones.
Zhan Yibao and Vivian were completely oblivious, their bitter thoughts spilling out faster than they could contain them.
Yu Holea took out a fresh tub of popcorn and a stool from her car(actually from her space.)
She sat on the stool, munching, as if she were front row at a comedy show, her occasional comments stoking the flames of the argument.
At the same time, she turned the camera of her phone on.
Next time Vivian thought of troubling her, she would send her the clip.
"That’s one point for Mr. President," she said between bites, pointing at Zhan Yibao with her popcorn tub as if keeping score.
Vivian’s eyes narrowed at Yu Holea’s casual spectating.
"Oh, look! Our audience is enjoying the show. Do you want autographs next, Yu?
I’m sure Zhan would love to sign your—oh wait, do you even have anything worth signing? That car? My pen would probably get tetanus."
Yu Holea simply nodded, smiling. "Nice one, Vivian! Point for you."
Zhan Yibao clapped sarcastically.
"Yeah, Vivian, great job. Maybe next time you can try not to sound like a rejected talk show host."
He turned to Yu Holea. "And you—do you carry that popcorn everywhere, or is this just your way of coping with your sad little life?"
Yu Holea grinned, holding up the popcorn.
"It’s my emergency kit. Some people carry first aid; I carry snacks. Much more useful in situations like these."
Vivian rolled her eyes but couldn’t help but crack a smile.
"Zhan, you can’t even win an argument without your stylist coaching you from the sidelines. Do you know how pathetic it is to have to rehearse your insults?"
"Oh, please, like you’re one to talk! You rehearse your fake laughs more than you rehearse your lines. And news flash, your laugh sounds like a dying goose."
Yu Holea stifled a giggle, wiping a tear from her eye. "That’s a good burn, Zhan! Another point!"
By now the director had already reached the location.
Looking at the lead cast fighting as if they won’t stop till they tear each other, Director Ou turned to look at Yu Holea.
If Yu Holea claimed that she didn’t do something in this matter, he would quit being a director.
Yu Holea blinked and offered her popcorn.
Director Ou: "..." Good...I can’t even get angry!
He quietly walked up to Yu Holea and said in a humble voice,
"My little ancestors, please stop this show."
"I want to...but the effect will wear off only after 1 hour." Yu Holea shrugged.
Director Ou sighed and asked,
"Why did you punish them so harshly?"
Yu Holea smiled brightly.
"Oh, Director Ou, don’t you think they’ve been holding in all this... creative energy for far too long? Consider it a team-building exercise. Honest feedback and all that."
Director Ou rubbed his temples, feeling a headache already brewing.
"Feedback? This is more like a roast battle at a comedy club, and they’re the headliners."
He glanced at the bickering pair, still firing insults with the intensity of a soap opera finale.
"Look, Yu Holea, this is a filming set, not a therapy session. How are we supposed to get anything done if they’re busy airing their dirty laundry for the world?"
Yu Holea leaned back, enjoying another mouthful of popcorn.
"Relax, Director. Once they’re done, they’ll probably have the most honest conversation of their lives. Or at least, they’ll run out of steam. Besides, it’s good PR! The audience loves drama."
"PR? What do you mean?" The director was stunned.
Yu Holea lifted her mobile phone and showed him the live stream which she had turned from the moment Zhan Yibao and Vivian were fighting.
"This.." Director Ou almost fainted.
Yu Holea hurriedly said,
"Don’t worry only a few of my friends are watching this shows."
Qiao Li, Sheng Yin, the rest of the Qiao Family, and some of her friends from the capital
Just yesterday night she received many of the messages expressing their concerns to her and asking if they should deal with Vivian.
Yu Holea didn’t know how they got to know about Vivian and Aunt Mila, but she felt warm in her heart.
Her mood improved and she didn’t feel as gloomy as she felt before.
Now she was broadcasting it so that they wouldn’t worry about her.
Director Ou heaved a sigh of relief and said to the rest of the staff,
"What are you all watching? Leave."
His stern words made the crowd sigh. How they wished they could continue to see Vivian and Zhan Yibao tear each other apart.
After all, though they are fans of Zhan Yibao, Vivian’s words weren’t a lie, and though Vivian was telling the truth they couldn’t bring themselves to like her since she was insulting their idols.
This toxic cycle was truly addictive and they didn’t want to miss out on such a show...
However, Director Ou’s glare made them give up and turn and leave.
Soon Yu Holea’s popcorn was over.
She stood up and said,
"There is still a low way to go. Director Ou I will practice my script in the conference room then."
Today wasn’t a shooting day, hence Director Ou didn’t insist on stopping the fight.
Yu Holea walked towards the building and just as she was about to enter, she was stopped by one of the guards,
"Miss we can’t allow non-staff members to enter the building."
He had heard the argument just now and from Vivian’s words, it was clear that Yu Holea wasn’t a crew member.
Before Yu Holea could answer, Director Ou who was behind Yu Holea, hurriedly said,
"She is one of the crew members. From now on never stop her!"
Director Ou emphasized his last sentence.
He was truly scared that Yu Holea would again take out a talisman and throw it at the guard...
The guard hurriedly retracted his hand and made an inviting gesture,
"Please."
Yu Holea smiled and said,
"Thank you."
As she walked past him, she didn’t forget to remind him,
"Don’t go in the woods behind the building tonight."
Her words stunned the guard named Wang Bin.
After all his habit of strolling in the woods at night was not known to anyone.
So how does she know about it?
And most importantly why was Yu Holea asking him to not visit the woods?
He wanted to ignore Yu Holea’s words as mere nonsense but when he remembered how Vivian and Zhan Yibao suddenly stopped insulting Yu Holea and started to insult each other, he felt as if...Yu Holea was some celestial master.
Director Ou waited till they were alone and asked,
"Why did you not punish him and help him instead?’
Yu Holea calmly said,
"He was just doing his duty and didn’t show any hostility towards me. Most importantly his clean aura showed me that he was an honest person.
If he went into woods today..."
"Would he die?" Director Ou asked with surprise.
Yu Holea frowned,
"Director Ou...it was a very bad dark joke. At most, he would be injured and bedridden for a few months."
"Oh...I was just..." Director Ou wanted to clean his name but not explanation could prove him innocent. In the end, he decided to keep his mouth shut.
Soon they reached the conference room.
Few of the side characters had long ago arrived and were discussing the roles and scenes.
When they saw Yu Holea appearing with Director Ou, all of them were stunned.
Some looked at Yu Holea with calculation in their eyes, while some looked at her with hostility, there was also someone who looked at Yu Holea calmly as if her existence doesn’t matter at all.
Yet all of them greeted Director Ou.
