Chapter 538: Insults And Karma
Chapter 538: Chapter 538: Insults And Karma
"Hey, can’t you hear the horn?"
"I did but I felt you were mistakenly pressing it. Otherwise, why would an RV stand right behind a vehicle and keep on honking." Yu Holea answered.
At the same time, she saw the face structure of the driver and concluded, that he wasn’t a mean person or a charitable person.
He was just short-tempered.
The driver’s face turned red from anger and he shouted,
"What the f*ck! If I am honking right behind your cheap car, then it means I want you to move away. Go and park somewhere else! I want to park here!"
Yu Holea frowned,
"Why would I park somewhere else when this parking lot is open to all?"
"Don’t you know, who is inside this RV?" The driver asked with an irritated expression.
Yu Holea rolled her eyes,
"He can’t be the president of the country, right?" Wasn’t Qiao Zixin the president of the country?
The driver however answered with confidence,
"Yes! The president is sitting in my car."
Just as Yu Holea was about to say something more, the driver said,
"The president of the entertainment industry is sitting in my car. So give me a side and park somewhere else."
President of the Entertainment Industry?
Wasn’t Zhan Yibao called the president of the entertainment industry?
So Zhan Yibao was in the RV?
Director Ou didn’t reveal to her who the other cast were.
He wanted to keep it a surprise for her.
Now she thinks the surprise will be a bad one for her...
Before she could respond, the RV door swung open, and a man in a tailored suit stepped out.
It was Zhan Yibao himself, wearing his trademark sunglasses and exuding an air of superiority.
He was tall, had fair skin, and neatly gelled black hair.
Zhan Yibao glanced at Yu Holea’s car with disdain before turning to his driver. "What’s taking so long?"
From his perspective Yu Holea had worn a mask and hat, covering most of her features and hence he didn’t know how she looked.
But from Yu Holea’s cheap car, he guessed she was one of the crew. Maybe an insignificant staff.
The driver pointed at Yu Holea’s car.
"This lady won’t move. She’s blocking your spot."
Zhan Yibao’s eyes shifted to Yu Holea, and he raised an eyebrow.
"You. Do you even know who I am? I don’t have time to waste."
Yu Holea stepped out of her car calmly. "I know exactly who you are, Mr. Zhan. But this parking spot isn’t reserved for you, and I got here first."
Zhan Yibao’s expression soured. He was used to people bowing to his every whim, not challenging him.
"Look, I’m not in the mood for arguments. I need this spot because my RV can’t fit anywhere else. Just move your car."
Yu Holea crossed her arms, her face calm,
"The parking lot has plenty of space. You can find another spot just fine."
Zhan Yibao took off his sunglasses, revealing piercing black eyes that were now fixed on Yu Holea.
"Do you have any idea who you’re messing with?"
Yu Holea met his gaze without flinching.
"I know who you are, Mr. Zhan. But I don’t care about your status or how famous you are. Rules are rules."
Zhan Yibao looked like he was about to argue further when the RV door opened again, and a familiar voice called out.
"What’s going on, Yibao?"
To Yu Holea’s surprise, she knew to whom this voice belonged to.
Vivian!
What was Vivian doing here?
Sure enough the next second she saw Vivian alighting from the RV.
She was dressed in a chic outfit that highlighted her elegant figure.
What was she doing with Zhan Yibao?
The next second Zhan Yibao’s face changed and a smile appeared on his face.
"Vivian, why are you out? You stay inside! What if the heat from the sun makes you faint? Go inside!"
Vivian waved her hand dismissively, clearly not concerned about a little sunlight.
"Relax, Yibao. I just wanted to see what all the noise was about." Her eyes flickered toward Yu Holea
Though Yu Holea’s mask covered her face, her beautiful silver hair was enough to make Vivian recognize Yu Holea.
The moment she recognized Yu Holea, Vivian’s face changed.
Memories of her nightmare, combined with her suspicion that Yu Holea might be behind it, flared up like fire in her mind.
"Yu Holea." Vivian greeted, her tone polite but dripping with hidden malice. "I didn’t expect to see you here."
"Vivian, I didn’t expect to see you here either. Did you have a good night’s sleep?" Yu Holea asked with a smile.
Vivian’s face changed and anger appeared in her eyes. If earlier she wasn’t sure, now she believed that Yu Holea had messed with her.
Zhan Yibao wrapped his arms around Vivian and asked,
"Vivian, do you know her ?"
Vivian took a deep breath and said,
"Hm. She is my cousin’s fiance."
Zhan Yibao was stunned.
"Oh? Then I will apologize to her..."
"No need." Vivian waved her hand. "They will soon call off their engagement. When my cousin was in a coma, she didn’t visit him at all.
Now my cousin has woke up, she has returned. My cousin has lost his memories and she is acting all lovey-dovey, so he thinks she is very good."
She turned toward Yu Holea and said with a smile,
"Are you here to apologize to me for yesterday’s incident?"
She thought that Qiao Jun had asked Yu Holea to apologize after yesterday’s incident and hence Yu Holea was waiting for her here.
It took a few minutes, but Zhan Yibao understood everything. Vivian knew Yu Holea, however, she didn’t like Yu Holea.
From Vivian’s words, he could understand that Yu Holea was a golddigger type of girl.
This will make things easier for him he could easily deal with and make a good impression on Vivian.
"Ah, so you’re the fiancée who’s trying to climb back up now that your meal ticket’s awake," he said mockingly.
"It’s funny, isn’t it? How some people only show up when there’s something to gain."
"Zhan, let’s not waste too much time," Vivian said, her voice dripping with feigned concern.
"Yu Holea must have a lot on her plate. After all, it takes a lot of work to pretend to be someone you’re not."
The mocking laughter of Zhan Yibao echoed, and a small crowd of onlookers began to gather, drawn by the commotion.
"Tell me," Zhan Yibao continued, his voice dripping with contempt.
"What’s your game plan, huh? Planning to play the devoted fiancée to regain your old status?
Or maybe you’re hoping to latch onto someone else here, now that your first option’s shaky? With hair like that, maybe you’re aiming for a witch role in some fantasy drama, huh?"
Vivian chuckled, covering her mouth with her hand, pretending to be amused.
"Oh, Yibao, don’t be so harsh. Yu Holea is just... trying her best."
Zhan Yibao stepped closer, his face now inches from hers. He sneered, pointing at Yu Holea’s car.
"Look at your car—it’s practically a heap of junk compared to mine. Why don’t you just save yourself the embarrassment and go back to where you belong? Somewhere out of sight."
"Honestly, Yu, you should know your place. Not everyone is destined for greatness. Some of us are just better suited to watching from the sidelines." Vivian chuckled.
Yu Holea frowned.
The crowd’s whispers and judgmental glances didn’t bother her, but Vivian’s and Zhan Yibao’s nonsense was making her frown.
She was debating whether she should take out a silencing talisman or an influence talisman.
After thinking about it, Yu Holea decided to go with influence talismans.
Since they like to gossip so much...then why don’t they continue to gossip?
Vivian and Zhan Yibao continued their verbal war.
"Vivian, let’s not waste any more time on people who don’t matter. We have better things to do than entertain the desperate."
"Of course, Yibao. After all, some people just can’t accept that their time in the spotlight is over."
"Are you done?" Yu Holea finally said. She quietly took out a yellow talisman and walked up to Vivian, she lifted her hand to pat her shoulders, but Vivian moved away vigilantly.
Yet she couldn’t avoid the talismans. Yu Holea did the same to Zhan Yibao.
"Now both of you will tell your real thoughts to each other." She said calmly.
The onlookers were confused by Yu Holea’s words. But the very second, they were shocked.
Vivian and Zhan Yibao were still mid-insult when the talismans began to work their magic.
Their expressions shifted slightly, almost imperceptibly at first, but soon, their words began to change in a way neither of them seemed to notice.
Vivian’s voice, still dripping with contempt, suddenly took on a strange tone.
"You know, Zhan, sometimes I think I’m better off without people like you around me, dragging down my status with your constant whining."
Zhan Yibao blinked, momentarily stunned by the unexpected jab.
