Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All -
Chapter 536: Dark Warden
Chapter 536: Chapter 536: Dark Warden
But when it comes to superhumans, especially those with mental power, the effects are almost null.
Yu Holea wanted to use that talisman on Aunt Mila and force her to retract the hypnosis from Qiao Jun.
After all, she knew that Qiao Jun was under Aunt Mila’s influence.
As to how she knows it?
Well on that day when Aunt Mila opened her mouth and tried to strengthen her hypnosis on Qiao Jun in between their conversation, Yu Holea sensed the strange energy getting emitted by Aunt Mila.
It was an energy she knew very well.
Corrupted dark energy.
Yu Holea was once influenced by that energy when she knew the truth about who swapped her during her birth.
However, she gradually got over it and made a solution for it.
It was the same energy that had corrupted the minds of those candidates in the goddess city.
She was very surprised. It took her 2 hours to digest the fact that Aunt Mila a human was related to dark energy that had the power to corrupt even the candidates of goddess city, where the goddess lives.
That day with questions in her mind she returned to the goddess city and got the answer to her questions.
When she told the goddess about the results, she saw that the goddess wasn’t very surprised, as if she already knew the truth.
"Candidate Qilin whatever I am going to tell you, might make you shocked but...the truth is, the energy you’ve sensed in your aunt Mila is not just any dark energy.
It’s ancient, far older than anything you’ve encountered before. It belongs to one of the most feared beings in the history of the realms—the Dark Warden."
"Dark Warden?" Yu Holea was confused.
"Hm. It was a past that the goddess city wanted to forget and one of the reasons why the goddess city is so confidential.
However, I can’t tell you about Dark Warden if you are planning to leave the goddess city. In fact, I will have to wipe away your memories." The goddess said.
Yu Holea was conflicted, and for a long time, she remained silent.
"Is that Dark Warden still alive?" She asked.
It wasn’t a question that needed to be kept confidential, since it could be easily found, so the goddess answered,
"Yes and No. Yes because Dark Warden wasn’t a person. No...it was more like a ball of negative energy that was created.
The negative energy that humans, animals, and other different races emit on a daily basis is accumulated somewhere.
They may think it might go away, but the truth is...it doesn’t. It requires thousands of years for this energy to gradually accumulate and become something we call a dark warden."
"No wait! What do you mean by it has no form? everything has a form."
"Incorrect. Nothing has a form of its own since the beginning. It takes millions and millions of years to create a form of its own.
Even the gods and goddesses who are worshipped all the time don’t have form. It is just humans who think, they have form.
No one has ever seen a god. It’s not because they don’t exist, it is just because they don’t have a form.
Science believes in what they see. But formless things can’t be seen. So they refuse to believe in the existence of god.
In fact, we are always around. Even when you feel we aren’t."
Yu Holea’s hands trembled.
God has no form?
On a deeper thought, Yu Holea felt it was true.
Every religion has a different god. But in reality, all of them are worshipping the same person...or the same...thing...
This would explain why every religion was right...
Shaking her head, Yu Holea took a deep breath.
She had much more important things to look after!
"So does the goddess have to make it disappear?" Yu Holea asked.
"It doesn’t just disappear," the goddess continued, her tone solemn.
"Instead, it festers, merging and growing stronger until it manifests as a sentient, corruptive force. The Dark Warden has no single form, no singular mind.
However, it does have the power to manifest into a human or possess a human. But to become a full-fledged person, it needs at least 100,000 years.
But all the goddesses tried to destroy it before it could reach that level of power. The Dark Warden, however, is incredibly resilient. It doesn’t die so easily.
Each time it was vanquished, it would merely retreat, bide its time, and slowly regenerate, feeding off the world’s negative energies again."
"Wait! So how is it related to the attack that happened on me and the other candidates? And how does Aunt Mila have it?" Yu Holea asked.
"When a dark warden succeeds in taking a form, it would try to infect more and more people. Some of the humans who knew about the existence of the dark warden made a deal with it.
They wanted the dark corrupted energy it had while they in turn would continue to create more chaos, which will further increase the power of the dark warden." The goddess explained.
Yu Holea understood.
Aunt Mila was one among them.
She used her superpower and dark corrupted energy together which resulted in Qiao Jun getting influenced.
The most important thing was Qiao Jun’s half-soul was still not with him.
"Where is Brother Jun’s other half-soul?"
The goddess didn’t hesitate and told her the truth.
How Qiao Jun was supposed to wake up before the end of the 4th year after falling coma, and how the candidate woke him up earlier, which resulted in this situation.
If Qiao Jun had woken up when his soul was complete, the hypnosis and the black corrupt energy wouldn’t have worked on him at all.
Yu Holea held her forehead, she wanted to scold the candidates, but thinking about how they did all of that for her, she could only sigh.
Especially when she knew how much Candidate Phoenix was going through just to make her happy...
Yu Holea snapped out of her daze.
From that day she convinced herself that she had to wait for the end of the year and Qiao Jun would eventually remember his memory.
As she entered the villa, Yu Holea’s phone rang.
When she saw Wu Ainan’s name flashing on the display screen, she massaged her head and changed the direction.
Soon Yu Holea reached the apartment where Wu Ainan was staying and rang the doorbell.
As she had expected the door of the apartment was emitting negative dark energy.
The door was flung open and Wu Ainan looked at Yu Holea with excitement in her eyes.
She welcomed Yu Holea inside and said,
"I am sorry for the mess. Once my condition improves, I promise to properly honor you."
Yu Holea waved her hand,
"No need."
As she entered the apartment, Yu Holea sensed that the atmosphere of the apartment was very chilly.
On a closer look, she could see two to three ghostly figures clinging to the corner of the rooms.
The ghosts were staring at Wu Ainan with a weird smile.
Wu Ainan rubbed her hand and said,
"Sorry. The temperature of this apartment is always so chilly. Do you want mufflers?"
According to Wu Ainan, the temperature of the apartment has been very cold since the moment she moved to this place.
So she thought Yu Holea would feel cold too.
Yu Holea shook her head and said,
"Let’s...look at your parents first."
Wu Ainan nodded and started to move towards the room on her left. Surprisingly the ghost didn’t leave together with Wu Ainan.
In fact, they were scared by Yu Holea’s sacred aura.
Yu Holea’s expression changed when she walked inside Wu Ainan’s parent’s room.
The room was filled with various ghosts.
Some were clinging to the ceiling of the room while some were sticking to the walls.
Some had hollow eyes, while others had twisted, ghastly forms that seemed to shift and waver as if struggling to maintain their shape.
Their presence weighed heavily on the atmosphere, making it difficult to breathe.
These spirits were not ordinary.
They were drawn to the dark energy that filled the apartment, and now, they were feeding off Wu Ainan’s parents, who lay motionless on the bed, their faces pale and gaunt as if life itself were being drained from them.
Wu Ainan’s parents seemed to be caught in a perpetual nightmare, their bodies twitching occasionally as they muttered incoherently in their sleep.
A dark mist surrounded their bodies, occasionally pulsing with a faint glow that Yu Holea recognized as the dark black and red mist which was a sign of impending death.
"This... This is worse than I expected," Yu Holea muttered under her breath.
Earlier she thought the celestial master hired by Min Jiao(who had exchanged her luck with Wu Ainan) just wanted to take away Wu Ainan’s life.
But now...from the thing she was seeing...it was clear..that the Celestial Master’s intentions went far beyond a simple life swap.
It wanted to kill everyone in Wu Ainan’s family.
Who was this celestial master?
