Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All -
Chapter 491: Justice Served
Chapter 491: Chapter 491: Justice Served
Just then, the doors at the far end of the hall swung open, and the goddess entered.
The candidates quickly straightened up, their smug expressions replaced with ones of feigned innocence.
One by one each of them started to greet the goddess.
The goddess nodded and gave a brief glance to Yu Holea, which further confirmed the guess of all the candidate.
Yu Holea is in trouble!
"Good morning," the goddess began, her voice carrying an authoritative weight. "I have called you all here today to address a matter of great importance."
The room was silent, the air thick with anticipation.
"There have been disturbances within the city," the goddess continued, her eyes scanning the room.
"Actions that go against the very principles of our society."
Sister Phoenix smiled and said,
"Goddess, can I say a few words?"
"Sure."
"I know that you are going to punish the person who did something inhuman. And I just want you to punish that person severely.
After my rebirth, I learned some important things, and one of them is being too kind-hearted would only encourage the troublemakers."
The goddess lightly glanced at Sister Phoenix and then she swept her gaze over others,
"Do you all think so too?"
"Yes!" All the candidates nodded.
In fact, in their heart, they were looking forward to the scene where Yu Holea was punished.
The goddess finally turned toward Yu Holea and said,
"Then Candidate Yu I would like to call you here."
Yu Holea slowly stood up and walked up to the goddess.
"Candidate Yu...do you want to say any words..." The goddess asked.
"Goddess you can’t be lenient on Candidate Yu this time!"
"Yes! She has crossed the line this time. Any words now would only be counted as an excuse!"
"Yeah!"
Yu Holea chuckled and said,
"Punish the culprit severely."
Her words stunned the candidates.
But they thought that Yu Holea was bluffing and hence followed behind.
"Punish the culprit severely."
"Punish the culprit severely."
"Punish the culprit severely."
............
Lira: "..." Only my lady can be so smart.
Sie Aldric:"..." As expected the intelligence of other candidates are...on minus!
The goddess looked at Yu Holea and for some reason, Yu Holea felt as if she was asking Yu Holea to stop causing trouble.
Yu Holea chuckled even more.
"Anyway. Let’s begin. Since an innocent life has been harmed by the candidates, as punishment all the candidates would suffer the pain of being harmed for no reason." The goddess announced.
Yu Holea: "..." What?
She couldn’t help but shake her head.
What did the goddess say?
Suffer the pain?
But how?
All the candidates’ faces turned pale.
"Goddess, what do you mean? Why are you punishing us?" The cat-masked woman asked. Disbelief was visible on her face.
"Goddess, you can’t punish us! You should punish Yu Holea! She was the one who brought ghost in the pure goddess city!"
The goddess coldly glanced at the cat-masked woman.
"Silence!" Her voice echoed through the hall, commanding instant obedience.
The candidates fell into an uneasy silence, their earlier bravado evaporating. Yu Holea watched them with amusement.
"As I said," the goddess continued,
"An innocent life was harmed by the candidates. Therefore, as punishment, all candidates will suffer the pain of being harmed for no reason."
The room erupted into chaos. The candidates protested, their voices overlapping in a cacophony of indignation and fear.
"This is unfair!"
"We didn’t do anything wrong!"
"Punish the real culprit, not us!"
The goddess raised her hand, and the hall fell silent once more. Her eyes swept over the candidates, her expression stern.
The candidates almost cried.
They didn’t want to live that punishment!
"Goddess, why don’t you send us all to hell for 3 days? Or..." The swan-masked woman was about to propose some other punishments when the goddess interrupted her,
"Candidate Swan, are you worthy of telling me what to do and what to not?"
The swan-masked woman fell silent, her face turning pale beneath her mask.
Faint blood started to leak from her lips and she instantly knelt down,
"I am sorry Goddess! I am truly sorry!"
"You all seem eager to dictate terms," the goddess continued, her voice icy.
"Yet none of you showed this courage when the innocent suffered. Today, you will learn the true meaning of justice."
"But goddess, what about her! She brought ghosts to the goddess city. Shouldn’t she be punished too!" Sister Phoenix argued.
Since she can’t save herself, she would drag Yu Holea with her!
Let’s see whether that b*tch will still be as arrogant as she is now after she suffers the punishment given by the goddess.
"Her reaction was the effect of something you did. I won’t punish her." The goddess announced.
Before Sister Phoenix could argue any further, a soft gold enveloped all the candidates and they disappeared one by one.
Yu Holea raised an eyebrow and turned toward to goddess,
"Where are they?"
The Goddess snapped and a chair appeared. She sat on the chair and suddenly a huge golden cauldron appeared in front of her.
The cauldron was filled with water.
"All of them will be reincarnated with no memory. They would live a life where they would suffer again and again, even though it is not their fault.
Their life would be displayed in the water. If you want to know what life they are living, you can see it from here." She pointed at the cauldron.
Yu Holea frowned,
"Reincarnated?"
"Hm. Think it of as a book transmigration. They would be teleported to a parallel reality with no powers and memory.
They would suffer till the end of their lives and only in the end would tell know the truth of their life. Even after coming back here, they would still have the memory of all that they had suffered."
Yu Holea was stunned.
Such punishment...it was too amazing.
"So will I have to wait for 10 years or..." Yu Holea asked.
The goddess shook her head.
"No. At most 6 months. They would experience 60 years of life in the next 6 months.
Yu Holea’s eyes widened.
"Sixty years of suffering in just six months? That’s..."
The goddess nodded.
"It’s necessary. They must understand the weight of their actions."
Yu Holea stood silently, processing the severity of the punishment. It was harsh, but it was a lesson that needed to be learned.
Her eyes flicked to the cauldron, where ripples began to form, showing glimpses of the lives the candidates would now lead.
She saw the phoenix-masked woman in a cold, desolate land, laboring tirelessly to keep herself and her frail family alive.
Her once proud and haughty demeanor was replaced with one of despair and exhaustion.
She was surrounded by harsh elements, fighting against the unyielding nature to survive.
The once confident and domineering presence had crumbled into a figure of hardship and relentless toil.
The cauldron’s surface shifted again, revealing the cat-masked woman in a rundown slum, working multiple jobs to provide for her sickly children.
Each day was a struggle, her health deteriorating as she pushed herself beyond her limits.
The smug arrogance she once displayed was now replaced with desperation and fatigue, her spirit crushed under the weight of her responsibilities.
Yu Holea watched as the swan-masked woman appeared, her elegant grace replaced with the roughness of manual labor.
She was toiling in a field from dawn until dusk, her hands raw and blistered from the relentless work.
Her beautiful attire was replaced with tattered rags, and her face, once full of pride, now reflected the toll of endless suffering and poverty.
As the scenes played out, the other candidates appeared one by one, each living a life filled with unending hardship and pain.
They faced injustice, betrayal, and relentless suffering, mirroring the agony they had inflicted upon the innocent.
The goddess had crafted a fate that forced them to endure the very cruelty they had once meted out without a second thought.
Now she understood why those candidates were ready to spend 3 days in hell but faced with this punishment, they were utterly broken.
It was not the physical suffering alone, but the emotional and psychological torment of living lives of despair, stripped of their power and privilege, that would leave a lasting mark on their souls.
Yu Holea couldn’t tear her eyes away from the cauldron. The scenes were haunting, each one more tragic than the last.
Yet...she liked the scene...
A lot!
The goddess’s gaze remained steady on Yu Holea, who finally tore her eyes away from the cauldron and met her gaze.
"Are you satisfied now?"
Yu Holea shook her head.
The goddess frowned and was about to say something when she heard Yu Holea say,
"I am thankful that you have given such a harsh punishment to them. They would truly learn their lesson but..."
A sad smile appeared on Yu Holea’s face as she said.
"But this won’t cure my Jun’er,right?"
