Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All
Chapter 477: Test Of Will

Chapter 477: Chapter 477: Test Of Will

A melodious voice announced,

"Congratulations, Awakener Yu Holea, your hard work has paid off and now you have become a candidate for the Goddess City."

The golden light enveloped her, lifting her off the ground and transporting her to a realm she had only heard of in legends.

The transition was smooth, almost dreamlike, and Yu Holea felt a strange combination of exhilaration and trepidation as she crossed into the realm of the Goddess City.

When the light finally faded, Yu Holea found herself standing at the gates of a magnificent city.

Towering spires and intricate architecture greeted her, their beauty and grandeur far surpassing anything she had ever seen.

The air was filled with a sense of power and mysticism, a tangible reminder of the extraordinary place she had entered.

For a moment Yu Holea thought that she was dreaming but when she pinched herself she knew that it wasn’t a dream.

When she entered the Goddess city, the first thing Yu Holea did was learn the rules and within one day she understood, memorized, and learned many things.

After carefully looking through all the records, Yu Holea realized that she would be in a disadvantageous position if her enemy was the phoenix-masked woman.

Yu Holea prayed in her heart that phoenix masked woman was not her opponent.

Not because she was afraid of her powers but Yu Holea feared that she would die without getting revenge for her fiance!

However, she soon saw a unique rule.

As long a person is acknowledged by heaven no rules are applied to that person and no one other than goddess could command that person.

Yu Holea hurriedly skimmed through the records to know the criteria to be acknowledged by heaven.

After looking around for a long while, she finally found a book in which the criteria to be acknowledged by heaven were written.

First, the candidate should be a virgin.

Second, the candidate should have exorcised more than 30 ghosts.

Third, the candidate should pass a test of will.

Yu Holea realized that she had already fulfilled the first 2 conditions and was happy.

For the third test, she needs to enter the test room and endure pain for the entire night.

If she survived, then she would be acknowledged by the heavens. But if she didn’t then...she would die.

Yu Holea hesitated for a long time, before taking the decision.

If she wanted to take revenge for her boyfriend she needed to be strong and hence Yu Holea started to look through the book to find where the test room was.

But other than the fact that no one has been able to gain acknowledgment from heaven and how hard it is to fulfill all three conditions, nothing else was written.

Just when Yu Holea gave up, she heard a mind voice above her head,

"Little girl, what are you looking at?"

Yu Holea was a bit surprised and asked,

"You...you can see me?"

All these while to ensure that she doesn’t face any obstruction, Yu Holea wore an invisibility talisman.

Yet the old woman who questioned her was able to look at her.

Yu Holea took a step back, her heart pounding as she stared at the old woman who had just addressed her.

The invisibility talisman had never failed her before, and the sudden awareness of being seen sent a shiver down her spine.

The old woman was small and hunched, with wisps of gray hair escaping from beneath a tattered shawl.

Her eyes, however, were sharp and piercing, as if they could see through not only the invisibility talisman but also through the very fabric of one’s soul.

"You... you can see me?" Yu Holea stammered, trying to keep her voice steady.

The old woman cackled, a sound that echoed eerily in the quiet library.

"Oh, little girl, I see many things that others cannot. Your talisman is no match for my sight."

Yu Holea swallowed hard, her mind racing.

"Who are you?" she demanded, forcing herself to stand tall and project confidence.

"I am the librarian here." the old woman replied cryptically.

"Now, tell me, what are you looking for so intently in these ancient texts?"

Yu Holea hesitated. She had no reason to trust this stranger, and revealing her goal could be dangerous.

But something about the woman’s eyes told her that she might hold the key to the answers she sought.

"I’m looking for the test room," Yu Holea said cautiously.

"I need to pass the test of will to be acknowledged by heaven."

The old woman’s expression shifted from amusement to seriousness.

"Ah, the test room. Not many seek it, and even fewer find it."

"Do you know where it is?" Yu Holea asked, her voice tinged with both hope and suspicion.

"I do," the old woman replied, her tone enigmatic.

"But why should I tell you?"

Yu Holea passed for a minute and asked,

"What do you want?"

"The thing I want can’t be given by you." The old woman said with a dazed look.

Yu Holea’s eyes narrowed.

"If you know, then tell me. I don’t have time for games."

This was her first time being rude to an old lady and she apologized to the old lady in he heart.

The old woman laughed again, softer this time.

"You are brave, but bravery alone will not get you through the test. There is much you do not understand."

Yu Holea felt a flash of frustration.

"Then help me understand. I need to be acknowledged by heaven. It’s the only way I can achieve my goal."

"And what goal is that?" the old woman asked, her eyes glittering with curiosity.

"I can’t tell, only when it is fulfilled that I can I tell you..." Yu Holea replied calmly.

The old woman’s expression softened, and she nodded slowly.

"Okay, I won’t ask anymore. But once you enter, you are on your own."

Yu Holea nodded, her resolve hardening.

"Lead the way."

The old woman turned and began to walk away, her steps surprisingly light and quick for someone of her age.

Yu Holea followed, keeping a wary eye on her surroundings. She couldn’t shake the feeling that this was all too convenient, but she had no other leads.

They wound their way through the labyrinthine corridors of the Goddess City’s library, the old woman moving with an uncanny familiarity.

Finally, they reached a small, nondescript door hidden behind a tapestry. The old woman stopped and turned to Yu Holea.

"This is it," she said, her voice solemn.

"Beyond this door lies the test room. Enter if you dare, but know that once you cross the threshold, there is no turning back."

Yu Holea took a deep breath, her heart pounding in her chest.

She reached for the door handle but hesitated.

"How do I know you’re telling the truth?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

She can’t trust anyone...especially because she was here to take revenge, so she should be on guard against others.

Not to mention, this old woman was too good to be true!

The old woman smiled a hint of sadness in her eyes.

"You don’t. But sometimes, we must take a leap of faith. Good luck, Yu Holea. May you find the strength you seek."

With that, the old woman stepped back, leaving Yu Holea alone in front of the door.

"Wait! How do you know my name?" Yu Holea asked with surprise.

"I know everything." The old woman said with a smile.

Yu Holea felt that the old woman was too strange but she couldn’t sense any hostility from the old woman at all.

On the contrary, the old woman constantly cared about her and even guided her to the test room even though she caught Yu Holea red-handed.

So Yu Holea could only give up for the time being and made a mental note to investigate the old woman later.

She took another deep breath, steeling herself for whatever lay ahead.

Then, with a determined push, she opened the door and stepped inside.

The room was dark and cold, the air thick with a sense of foreboding. As the door closed behind her, Yu Holea felt a chill run down her spine.

She could barely see anything, but she could sense the presence of something powerful and ancient.

A voice echoed through the darkness, deep and resonant.

"Welcome, the candidate. You have entered the test room. Please tell your name and prepare yourself for the trial of will."

"Yu Holea."

The sound of her name echoed through the dark, cold room, lingering in the air like an ethereal whisper.

The ancient presence she felt was almost tangible, a weight pressing down on her soul. She took a deep breath, summoning all her courage, and waited for what was to come.

"Yu Holea," the voice resonated once more,

"You have chosen the path of the will. Prepare yourself, for the trial begins now."

Suddenly, the room was bathed in a harsh, blinding light, forcing Yu Holea to shield her eyes.
