Chapter 455: Dream Realm
Chapter 455: Chapter 455: Dream Realm
She reached into her pocket for her talismans, only to find them missing.
"Where did I leave those talismans?" she muttered under her breath.
She remembered placing them on the nightstand after speaking with the Zhaos, but they were gone now.
The figure by now had reached Yu Holea.
Yu Holea didn’t have the time to think about any other thing and tried to use her mystic energy.
But the mystic energy didn’t channel at all.
Having no choice, Yu Holea again dodged but the figure had reached to her by now.
Relazing something Yu Holea muttered,
"So I am in a dream."
Her sentence was filled with certainty.
Only in her dream could Yu Holea not use her mystic energy or her talismans.
The figure, distorted and menacing, continued to close in on her. But now, knowing it was a dream, Yu Holea felt confident.
Dreams could be manipulated.
"You’re not real," she said calmly.
The figure’s laughter echoed again, but Yu Holea stood her ground. She focused her mind, willing herself to wake up.
The surroundings began to blur and shift as she concentrated.
"Wake up," she commanded herself. "Wake up now."
The figure lunged at her one last time, but just as it reached her, Yu Holea’s vision went black, and she jolted awake in her bed, gasping for air.
The room was silent, the only sound being her own rapid breathing.
She glanced around, her eyes adjusting to the dim light.
The talismans were still on the nightstand where she’d left them.
Reaching for one, she felt the familiar texture and let out a sigh of relief.
"It was just a dream," she whispered to herself.
So that ghost was capable of controlling dreams? Powerful.
Yu Holea was impressed but she was more concerned about the Zhao family.
Using her teleportation talisman, Yu Holea entered the Zhao Family’s apartment without their knowledge.
In an instant, the familiar sensation of displacement washed over her, and the world around her shifted.
Yu Holea found herself standing in the corridor outside the Zhao family’s apartment.
The air was still and quiet, the darkness of the late hour pressing in around her.
Moving swiftly but quietly, she approached the door to Junjie’s room. Her steps were deliberate, her mind focused on the task ahead.
She reached out, her hand hovering over the doorknob, and gently pushed the door open.
The scene inside was harrowing. Junjie lay on his bed, his body contorted in distress, his face etched with pain.
Yu Holea’s concern deepened as she took in his condition. Whatever malevolent force had targeted him was clearly powerful and persistent.
Before she could step further into the room, a voice from behind startled her.
It was one of the maids who had emerged from her own quarters nearby.
"What are you doing here at this hour?" the maid demanded, her voice sharp with suspicion.
"And why are you standing outside Young Master Junjie’s room?"
Yu Holea turned to face the maid, her expression calm yet urgent.
"I am here to help Young Master Junjie," she replied evenly. "He is in great distress, and I must assist him."
The maid’s eyes widened in alarm.
"Help him?" she exclaimed, her voice rising. "How did you get in here? Mrs. Zhao was clear—"
Before the maid could finish her sentence, her raised voice caught the attention of Mr. and Mrs. Zhao, who emerged from their bedroom with surprise on their face.
"What is happening here?" Mr. Zhao demanded, his tone firm as he took in the scene before him.
When he saw Yu Holea, Mr. Zhao was stunned and asked in a surprised tone,
"Master Yu, what are you doing here?"
Mr. Zhao was sure that he and his wife who were discussing their son’s matter didn’t hear any doorbell, so how come Yu Holea entered their apartment?
Did any of the maids open the door for Yu Holea in advance?
Yu Holea met Mr. Zhao’s gaze directly, her expression serious yet calm. "I apologize for the intrusion," she began, her voice steady.
"But your son, Junjie, is in grave danger."
Saying so she pointed in their son’s direction.
Mrs. Zhao and Mr. Zhao’s face changed when they saw their son’s painful expression.
Mrs. Zhao stepped forward, her skepticism evident in her tone.
"But how did you get into our home?" she pressed, her voice tinged with concern for her son but also a hint of suspicion.
Yu Holea hesitated only briefly before responding.
"I used a teleportation talisman," she explained simply.
"It allowed me to enter your apartment swiftly, without prior notice. I understand this must be unsettling, but please believe me—Junjie needs our help."
Mrs. Zhao was about to say something more when Mr. Zhao held her back.
Yu Holea entered the room.
She knelt beside Junjie’s bed, placing a gentle hand on his forehead to assess his condition more closely.
Junjie’s breathing was labored, and his body twitched involuntarily as if battling an unseen assailant within his dreams.
"He’s burning up," Mrs. Zhao whispered anxiously, her eyes fixed on her son’s anguished expression.
Yu Holea nodded solemnly, her brow furrowed in concentration.
"He’s trapped in a nightmare," she murmured, more to herself than to the others in the room. "I need to enter his dream to free him."
Mr. Zhao exchanged a worried glance with his wife, uncertainty shadowing his features.
"Can you help him?" he asked, his voice tight with concern.
Yu Holea looked up, her eyes meeting Mr. Zhao’s with a steady resolve.
"I can try," she affirmed, her voice unwavering. "But I will need your trust and cooperation."
What she didn’t tell was that if she failed not only his son but even Yu Holea would be affected.
Before entering Junjie’s dream, Yu Holea created a barrier.
During the time she was in Junjie’s mind, her body would become an easy target for many ghosts. Not to mention if any of the three people attacked Yu Holea or killed her, she would be dead even without having the chance to fight against them.
She also used a talisman called Bridge Talisman, using which she could access the talismans in the real world and use it in dream realm.
With that, Yu Holea closed her eyes and began to chant softly, her hands hovering over Junjie’s forehead.
Slowly, the atmosphere in the room shifted.
A subtle shimmer enveloped Yu Holea and Junjie, indicating her presence within his dream realm.
She found herself standing in a surreal landscape, where shadows danced menacingly and whispers of unseen entities echoed in the background.
"This is Junjie’s dream," Yu Holea murmured to herself, taking in the surreal surroundings with a mix of caution and determination.
Ahead, she spotted Junjie, a spectral version of him, trapped in a nightmarish scenario.
He struggled against dark tendrils of energy that ensnared him, causing his form to convulse in pain.
Without hesitation, Yu Holea advanced towards him.
She extended her hands, channeling her own mystic energy to counteract the negative influence that gripped Junjie.
The spectral Junjie turned towards her, his eyes filled with a mixture of fear and hope.
"Who are you?" he asked, his voice wavering with uncertainty.
"I am here to help you," Yu Holea replied
"No! You should leave! That ghost will hurt you!" Junjie said weakly.
Yu Holea understood the ghost was mentally draining Junjie by taking control of his dream and she needed to free him anyhow.
"It’s okay, I will fight with it." Yu Holea said calmly.
"No! That ghost is too powerful! You can never defeat it!"
Yu Holea knelt beside him, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
"Trust me," she urged softly, her eyes reflecting the flickering light of the dream realm. "I have faced many challenges like this before. We will find a way."
Junjie hesitated, his expression torn between fear for her safety and desperation for his own liberation.
"But if it gets you..." he started, his voice trailing off as he struggled to convey the gravity of the situation.
Yu Holea squeezed his shoulder gently.
"I will handle it."
Suddenly a faint guttural growl echoed in the dream realm, causing Junjie to tense.
Shadows gathered at the edges of the surreal landscape, coalescing into a dark, swirling mass.
The malevolent presence that had tormented Junjie’s dreams materialized before them, its form shifting between grotesque shapes and sinister shadows.
Yu Holea stood up, her hand gripping the Bridge Talisman firmly.
With a swift motion, she activated its power, drawing forth the energy of her talismans from the real world into the dream realm.
The talismans materialized in her grasp, glowing faintly with protective runes.
The malevolent entity hissed its voice a chilling whisper that echoed through the dream.
"You dare to take away my slave? Human, you are too courageous."
"I’m not here to negotiate," Yu Holea declared, her voice steady and resolute. "Release Junjie from your grasp."
The entity’s laughter filled the dream realm, a discordant sound that sent chills down Junjie’s spine.
"Release him? He belongs to me now," it hissed, its form undulating with malice.
