Ghost Exorciser: Is Loved By All -
Chapter 454: Karma Cycle
Chapter 454: Chapter 454: Karma Cycle
If she had not seen the magical scene unfold in front of her, she wouldn’t even have believed that Yu Holea was an exorcist.
Though she was a bit skeptical, Mrs. Zhao didn’t question her.
Yu Holea moved to her bag, pulling out several small packets of herbs.
She began to mix them with water in a small bowl, creating a fragrant and soothing tonic.
As she worked, she spoke softly to the Zhaos, explaining each step of the process and the properties of the herbs she was using.
"This tonic will help replenish his strength and cleanse any residual malevolent energy from his body," she explained.
"It’s important that he drinks this as soon as he’s able."
Mr. Zhao watched in amazement as Yu Holea worked with calm confidence.
"Thank you, Celestial Master Yu," he said, his voice filled with gratitude.
"We don’t know what we would have done without you."
Yu Holea finished preparing the tonic and handed it to Mrs. Zhao.
"Here, hold this. When Junjie wakes up, make sure he drinks it slowly."
Mrs. Zhao took the bowl, her hands still trembling slightly.
"Thank you," she whispered. "We’re so grateful for your help."
Yu Holea nodded.
"That...Master Yu, did the ghost go away? He won’t return back, right?"
Yu Holea shook her head with a grim expression and said,
"That ghost has mostly likely flown away. And even if I had exorcised it, some other ghost would have attacked him."
"What?" Mrs. Zhao and Mr. Zhao were shocked.
Yu Holea narrowed her eyes and said,
"Before I tell you the reason I need to know the backstory."
Mrs. Zhao and Mr. Zhao suddenly fell silent.
Yu Holea waited for them to open up.
In fact, just by using her powers on Junjie, she could easily know the past, but she didn’t like to sneak into other’s personal matters and hence she didn’t use it.
Mr. Zhao hesitated and said,
"Can’t we skip it?"
Yu Holea shook her head,
"If you don’t tell me, even if I successfully exorcise the ghost, you and your family won’t be able to escape from the Karma cycle."
Mr. Zhao sighed and exchanged looks with Mrs. Zhao, who shook her head.
Mr. Zhao coughed and said,
"Master Yu would like to have dinner?" His tone was filled with politeness and Yu Holea understood their meaning.
They wanted to change the topic.
Yu Holea glanced at Mr. Zhao, and then at Mrs. Zhao, who were both trying to avoid the topic of their family’s past. Her expression remained gentle but firm.
"I’m afraid I must decline your dinner invitation, Mr. Zhao," Yu Holea said, her tone polite but resolute.
"Understanding the full history is crucial for addressing the root of the problem. Without it, any solution I provide will be temporary at best."
Mrs. Zhao looked worriedly at her husband, who sighed deeply.
"Very well, Celestial Master Yu," he said. "We will discuss this tonight and share the details with you tomorrow."
Yu Holea nodded in agreement.
"I will return in the morning then. Please think carefully about what you need to share."
As she turned to leave, Mrs. Zhao called out, "Wait, Master Yu!"
Yu Holea paused, turning back to face them. "Yes, Mrs. Zhao?"
Mrs. Zhao hesitated for a moment before speaking.
"The talismans you used earlier... could we buy some from you? We want to ensure that our home is protected tonight."
Yu Holea considered this for a moment.
"Of course," she said, reaching into her bag. She pulled out a set of ten talismans and handed them to Mrs. Zhao.
"These will help to ward off any malevolent spirits that might attempt to return."
Mr. Zhao took the talismans, his expression one of gratitude mixed with anxiety.
"How much do we owe you for these, Master Yu?"
Yu Holea replied,
"One million yuan for the set. It’s a small price to pay for your family’s safety."
Mr. Zhao nodded and handed her a check for the amount.
"Thank you," he said sincerely.
Yu Holea accepted the payment and tucked it away.
"Make sure to place them at each entrance and around Junjie’s room. They will form a protective barrier."
Mr. Zhao followed Yu Holea as she made her way to the door.
"Mr. Lin will show you to your room," he said. "It’s the apartment right next to ours."
"Thank you, Mr. Zhao," Yu Holea said, giving him a slight bow before stepping out into the corridor. Mr. Lin, the family’s butler, was already waiting to escort her.
"This way, Celestial Master Yu," Mr. Lin said, leading her down the corridor and to the adjacent apartment.
He opened the door, revealing a spacious and well-furnished living area. "I hope you find everything to your satisfaction."
"I’m sure it will be perfect," Yu Holea replied with a warm smile.
"Thank you, Mr. Lin."
After Mr. Lin left, Yu Holea explored the apartment briefly.
She found the bedroom and set her belongings down. The en-suite bathroom was equipped with a luxurious shower, and she decided to take a moment to freshen up.
After a refreshing shower, she felt rejuvenated.
She wrapped herself in a plush robe provided by the apartment and made her way to the living room.
She needed to report the day’s events to the Yu family.
She pulled out her phone and dialed the Yu family’s number. After talking for a while, Yu Holea hung up and called Qiao Jun.
When the call was connected Qiao Jun’s said,
"Let’s chat on Video call!"
Without giving Yu Holea a chance to understand anything, he hung up the call.
Yu Holea: "..." I have a bad feeling in my heart!
Soon Qiao Jun’s video call request appeared on her phone. Yu Holea hesitated for a moment before accepting it.
The screen flickered to life, showing Qiao Jun’s familiar handsome face.
"Holea! Why are you still in your hotel room?"
According to Qiao Jun, Yu Holea was supposed to leave the hotel the same and return to City S.
Hence he decorated Yu Holea’s room to surprise her.
Yu Holea chuckled awkwardly when she saw Qiao Jun’s background.
Even though Qiao Jun tried his best to hide everything, she could see that he had decorated her room.
With a stiff smile she replied,
"I will stay here for 4 days."
The smile on Qiao Jun’s face vanished instantly he asked with serious expression,
"Holea are you trying to prank me?"
Yu Holea gulped and smiled,
"Yes. I asked you to leave me yesterday and show some mercy, but you didn’t so...I decided to take revenge on you!"
Qiao Jun narrowed his eyes and said,
"Revenge?"
"Yes, revenge," she continued, trying to maintain a light-hearted tone.
"You didn’t listen to me when I asked for a break, so now you have to wait a little longer for my return."
Qiao Jun was silent for a while before chuckling,
"Sure wifey. I will ’wait’ for you. And since you are capable of taking revenge, then I won’t hold back from now."
With that, he hung up the call.
Yu Holea trembled.
Qiao Jun was angry!
Did she do the right thing?
Yu Holea doesn’t think so.
Qiao Jun looked at the beautiful decoration that he had done with his own hands and a bitter expression appeared on his face.
He berated himself for being too much. If he hadn’t troubled her so much yesterday she would have at least informed him the truth...
Yu Holea could only lay on the bed and close her eyes.
At 3 AM, Yu Holea stirred awake, feeling an unexpected thirst. She reached for the mug on the bedside table, only to find it empty.
Annoyed but too parched to ignore it, she groggily opened her eyes and sat up.
As her vision adjusted to the darkness, she noticed a shadowy figure sitting on the chair in the corner of her room.
Confused and slightly alarmed, she squinted to get a better look. "Who are you?" she asked, her voice low and cautious.
The figure let out a creepy laugh that echoed in the quiet room. "You did the wrong thing by taking over this case," it hissed.
"If you’re here to spout nonsense, leave now," Yu Holea said with a bored expression.
Did the ghost think that by re-enacting the scenes from horror movies, the ghost could scare her?
How childish and cute.
In her previous life when she first confronted the ghost, Yu Holea wasn’t scared and even had a calm expression.
She almost never felt scared of the ghost, which was strange for Yu Holea.
Even Yu Holea’s master was surprised and commented that she was destined to become a ghost exorcist.
So if the ghost thinks that it could act horrifying and dangerous by sitting in the chair of her room...it is totally wrong.
The figure’s demeanor changed in an instant. It leaped from the chair, sprinting toward her with malicious intent.
Yu Holea reacted swiftly, rolling out of bed and narrowly dodging the attack.
