Getting spoiled in a woman dominating world -
Chapter 220: Time?
Chapter 220: Time?
Charlotte looked down at the dead body of the World Leader and her eyes condensed "This damned bitch..."
Blue ether began to glow around her body and time itself stuttered.
Everything around her froze in time.
Behind Charlotte, an enormous projection of a clock with numbers and needles hovered silently.
Its long needles began to spin counterclockwise and the light in the room dimmed and twisted as reality itself bent.
Glass shards lifted off the floor, shattered desk fragments hovered in midair and paper reverted into its previous form as time reversed.
Charlotte blinked and dismissed the technique, exhaling slowly.
Before her, the World Leader is sitting behind the desk, blinking slowly.
Her brows drew slightly together, sensing a strange change in the air but unable to place it.
Charlotte’s boots tapped softly on the floor as she stepped closer.
Looking at her, Charlotte spoke, "I am asking you again... did you send Jingsha to kill Brandon."
The woman looked at her for a moment before replying "No... she acted on her own accord."
"Charlotte, if I really wanted to harm him, I would have done it already. I could have taken him and conducted research on him." View the correct content at NovelFire.
"Respecting your words, I never made any moves against him."
She sighed, leaning back slightly in her chair "Lingsha because of her old grudges against Elizabeth must have gone to harm him."
Charlotte’s gaze lowered slightly and she replied "This is another warning from my side. Never touch my Brandon again."
The woman gave a shallow nod "Yes, yes. I know. You’ve made yourself clear."
Charlotte turned, her coat fluttering slightly as she began to walk toward the door.
But then the World Leader’s voice followed her "By the way... where is Lingsha?"
Her tone was casual, "I assume she’s alive? I’ll have her punished. A short term in our prison should keep her from acting out again."

She walked through the splintered remains of the door, and without turning her head, she replied...
"She’s dead."
Behind her, the World Leader stood up violently from her chair that it scraped loudly across the floor.
Her eyes widened in horror and disbelief "WHAT?! Charlotte! Do you realize what you’ve done?"
She rushed to the ruined doorway, slamming her palms against the frame as she shouted after the retreating figure.
"CHARLOTTE!! You just killed one of the Council’s Empyreans!"
"CHARLOTTTTEEEE!!!"
---
The kitchen was quiet and a soft breeze wafted in from the open sill, carrying the scent of simmering herbs.
Dhayun stood in front of the stove with her sleeves rolled up, her long hair tied in a messy low ponytail, and her eyebrows narrowed in intense concentration.
In one hand, she held her mobile, propped up on the countertop with a spoon resting across it to keep it steady.
A Ztube video played with the cheerful voice of a cooking vlogger guiding her step by step through the recipe.
"Okay, now we add the diced potatoes... then the browned beef... and let that simmer for fifteen minutes-"
Dhayun blinked and leaned in close "Wait... potatoes after the beef? Or was it the other way around?"
She looked between the simmering pot and the video again, then awkwardly muttered to herself, "Ehh... am I doing this right?"
Her hand hovered between two bowls of ingredients.
On the left, neatly diced onions and garlic; on the right, tender chunks of browned beef.
A soft sigh escaped her lips "Let’s just pretend I didn’t already throw in the carrots first..."
She stirred the stew slowly, watching as steam curled up in lazy tendrils, warming the air around her face.
The bubbling sound was oddly comforting.
She tasted the broth with a wooden spoon and immediately scrunched her nose.
"A bit more salt... and maybe... soy sauce? No, wait-"
The mobile screen briefly darkened but she quickly tapped it with her elbow to keep the video going.
Her eyes squinted as the cooking vlogger cheerily explained how to thicken the stew with a slurry "Slurry? What even is- oh right, that cornstarch thing..."
She reached for the cornstarch and accidentally knocked over a small bowl of chopped parsley "Aah! Nooo- my garnish!"
She bent down to pick it up with a groan and she stood up again, smiling sheepisly at the pot "Okay... you better taste good after all this effort."
A moment passed as she stirred gently and her expression softened.
The stew was beginning to smell delicious now and a faint smile tugged at the corner of her lips.
The rich scent of beef, carrots, onions, and slow-simmered herbs hung in the air, growing thicker and warmer with every passing minute.
The steam rose in gentle spirals, curling up to brush her cheeks.
She leaned forward and took in a long, satisfied breath.
"Mmm... smells perfect," she whispered.
Then, almost involuntarily, a quiet giggle escaped her lips.
She turned slightly, biting the corner of her smile as she remembered Brandon.
Just the thought of him going "Mmm!" with an enthusiastic grin while eating her food made her heart do a little backflip in her chest.
She pressed a hand to her cheek which is now flushed with a warm pink hue "He’s gonna love this... It’s his childhood favourite after all."
In excitement, she twirled once in place like a child and the apron fluttered around her knees.
"I can’t wait for dinner!!" she exclaimed, bouncing on her toes happily.
In her rush of joy, she grabbed the lid of the pot and placed it down carefully, turning the heat to a gentle simmer.
Then, still smiling ear to ear, she turned and peeked out of the kitchen, toward the front door.
Her eyes sparkled with anticipation "I hope he comes soon..."
Suddenly a thunderclap startled her and she blinked "Hm? is it going to rain?"
---
The stew had finished simmering to perfection.
The rich, savory aroma filled every corner of the small dorm room.
Han Dhayun carefully lifted the pot and carried it over to the dining table.
Her movements were careful as she didn’t want a single drop to spill.
"Hot, hot, hot..." she mumbled as she placed the pot gently onto a thick cork mat at the center of the table.
Steam rose from the stew in thick curls, curling toward the ceiling.
She returned to the kitchen and began bringing out the rest, steamed rice in bowls, freshly sliced radish kimchi with a vibrant red hue, a side of sautéed spinach with sesame oil, and a dish of grilled tofu with just a hint of chili glaze.
After wiping her hands on her apron, Dhayun stood back and looked at the table.
A soft, proud smile bloomed across her lips.
It looked... homey.
She adjusted the spoon by Brandon’s bowl, then reached over to straighten the napkin, only to move it half an inch to the left again.
Her fingers fidgeted with the chopsticks before she stopped herself with a breathless laugh.
"Ugh, why am I being like this?" she muttered to herself, covering her face for a moment.
"It’s just dinner. Calm down..."
But her heart wasn’t calm. Not even close.
She turned toward the door and glanced at the time on her phone "He should be here soon... right?"
Unable to sit still, she circled the table one more time, smoothing out the already smooth tablecloth and glancing into the mirror hung on the wall to check her appearance.
A few strands of hair were out of place from all the kitchen work, and there was a bit of flour on her cheek.
She hastily wiped it off, fluffed her bangs, then peeked at the table again.
Everything was ready.
She stood by the entrance now with her hands clasped behind her back, rocking slightly on her heels and her eyes flickered toward the door every few seconds with anticipation.
"...Woonie, come home already."
Hearing another thunderclap, she frowned slightly "Is he stuck in rain."
She took her mobile and quickly called him.
---
Brandon was sitting on the couch with Eira in his lap and her arms were around his neck.
Hearing his mobile ringing, he took it and saw Dhayun’s name.
Without hesitation, he accepted the call and raised the phone to his ear "Dhayun."
Dhayun giggled and asked "Woonie, when are you coming? Are you stuck in rain?"
Eh? Brandon blinked and looked down at Eira who was curled on his lap, still scared after hearing the details.
With a soft sigh, he replied "Dhayun... many things happened today and haa... I can’t come today."
There was a pause. Silence from the other end.
Huh? Dhayun’s pupils shrank in shock upon hearing this and her gaze trembled "Woonie, you are alright, right? Nothing happened to you, right?"
Brandon smiled faintly and chuckled, trying to ease the tension. "Don’t worry... I’m good. Just a bit tired."
A breath of relief escaped her lips and she leaned back on the wall.
She bit her lip and her lips trembled "...I-If you can’t come, it’s okay. It is also raining outside. Take some rest. Good night."
Brandon gave a slow nod "Hmm, Good night."
With that, he cancelled the call.
Ravene stepped into the hall and saw Brandon "Brandon, come on, let’s eat dinner."
Looking at her, he nodded "Alright."
Eira stirred slightly in his lap with her hands clutching him.
He reached out with his free hand and gently brushed a loose strand of hair behind Eira’s ear.
She looked up, blinked slowly, and nestled into his chest again.
He exhaled and pressed a small kiss to her forehead.
---
Far across the city, Han Dhayun stood by her dinner table.
Her hand trembled at her side and the smile she had forced onto her face began to falter.
"...So dumb," she whispered to herself.
"...I even made your favorite."
