Chapter 1961: Phantom Parade

Chapter 1961: Phantom Parade

Seeing the situation unfold, Connor didn't dare to act rashly. He couldn't risk Rachel's life in this situation.

"But rest assured, Mr. Connor. As long as you cooperate with us and wait here for three hours, I will release this woman. After that, if you wish to resolve the conflict between you and our Blood Moon Sect's leader, I won't stand in your way," the Grand Elder continued.

"So, if I wait here for three hours, you'll let Rachel go?" he asked softly.

"Yes." the Grand Elder nodded.

"Connor, are you crazy? Don't listen to this person's nonsense. If that leader truly resurrects, we will both die here today. It's better for one person to die than both of us. Don't mind me, hurry up and stop him," Rachel shouted, her expression highly agitated.

Connor cast a brief glance at her, then said softly, "It's okay. I'll wait here for three hours. Even if that leader is resurrected, I still have a way to kill him."

"Hehe..." The Grand Elder sneered, feeling contemptuous of his overconfidence.

If the Blood Moon Sect's leader were to truly resurrect, his power would likely surpass even a Three-Star Martial Master. How could Connor, a mere Earth-Rank Ancient Martial Master, be his match?

However, the Grand Elder didn't say much because he had already achieved his goal. As long as he could buy enough time for the leader, it was enough.

Connor pretended to prepare to sit down, and the Grand Elder and his followers relaxed, thinking that he had given up resistance.

However, just as everyone believed that he was about to sit down, he suddenly moved. His figure flashed, and he rushed to the middle-aged man holding Rachel.

Everything happened so suddenly that even she didn't react in time.

"Bang!"

Connor reached out and grabbed the middle-aged man's arm, then twisted it forcefully.

"Ah..."

A miserable scream followed, and the middle-aged man's arm was broken, ending his life as Connor kicked him in the chest.

Rachel, now free from her restraints, hurriedly stepped behind Connor.

The Grand Elder stared at his position with an expression of disbelief, and his face showed utter astonishment. He had never expected him to be so audacious, knowing full well that intervening would endanger Rachel's life.

Moreover, his speed was beyond anyone's imagination. Everything had happened in the blink of an eye. If an ordinary person were present, they might not have even comprehended what had occurred.

"Mr. Connor, indeed your skills are extraordinary!" The Grand Elder finally spoke, his expression still incredulous.

Despite his anger, the Grand Elder knew he had underestimated Connor's power. If he had known how fast Connor was, he would not have brought her here. Without her, his presence would be ineffective.

Now, there was no turning back.

Taking a deep breath, the Grand Elder pulled out a box from his pocket and shouted at Connor, "Connor, today I'll let you taste the horrors of the Phantom Parade!"

"What? Phantom Parade?"

"We're finished! The Grand Elder is about to use that move. Let's run!"

"Hurry, run!"

For some reason, upon hearing the Grand Elder's words, the Blood Moon Sect members' faces turned pale. Then, as if they had gone mad, they fled into the distance.

In just an instant, the area behind the Grand Elder was empty.

However, he didn't seem to mind. He continued muttering as if reciting a spell and opened the box he had taken from his pocket.

As the box was opened, the world seemed to change instantly, shrouded in endless darkness. Simultaneously, countless ghostly figures emitted mournful cries and swarmed toward Connor and Rachel.

Seeing this, she was utterly shocked. It was the first time she had witnessed the existence of these undead creatures.

Previously, she couldn't comprehend the concept of souls and spirits because she believed there were no ghosts or gods in the world. Now, she realized that he had been telling the truth.

These undead creatures seemed to devour souls instantly and attacked him while emitting miserable cries.

The Grand Elder's face turned pale as well. He hadn't expected his last resort, the Phantom Parade, to have no effect on Connor.

Connor faced these undead creatures for the first time and didn't know what to do. He released his aura in an attempt to keep the undead away from him and Rachel.

To his surprise, the moment his aura enveloped him and Rachel, the undead creatures reacted as if they had encountered something terrifying. They quickly scattered and fled in all directions.

"What... what just happened?" The Grand Elder was also taken aback, his expression filled with incredulity.

He hadn't anticipated that his ultimate move would have no effect on Connor. The Phantom Parade was his most potent technique, and its ability to release malevolent spirits that devoured souls was formidable. Yet, Connor's aura seemed to repel them effortlessly.

The Grand Elder's face was ashen. He knew that using this technique had taken a toll on him, but now, it seemed all his efforts had been in vain.
