Shereen knew Cielo had returned and rushed to his room, asking softly, "Cielo, how did things go?"

"What? He failed?" Her expression showed surprise.

Shereen, looking at Cielo hesitated for a couple of seconds before saying, "If that's really the case, I have a way to deal with Aida."

"What method?" he asked.

He despises Connor so much that if he finds out his granddaughter is involved with someone like Connor, he definitely won't spare Aida. "Well, Mom, you're indeed very clever..." He chuckled when he heard Shereen's words.

"Alright, you better get going and handle these matters quickly," she said calmly.

Cielo immediately took out his phone and began making calls.

On the other side, Connor and Aida stayed in the place arranged by Qin Lan. The house had two bedrooms, and there were Rachel's people nearby. Therefore, he finally felt he could relax and get a good night's sleep.

Due to the relatively safe situation, and because Cielo had no idea that they were staying there, Connor and Aida didn't share the same room. However, she found it difficult to sleep alone. After everything they had been through in the past few days, she felt anxious every time she closed her eyes.

After tossing and turning for several minutes, she put on her shoes and walked to his room. She hesitated for a long time before finally knocking on the door.

"Connor, are you asleep?" she asked softly.

"I just fell asleep, but you woke me up. What's the matter?" he asked.
