Getting $10 Trillion Out Of Nowhere
Chapter 1770: Relying on Yourself

Chapter 1770: Relying on Yourself

After the smoke completely dissipated, Connor noticed a human skin mask on the ground. It was evident that the assassin hadn't revealed their true face, making it difficult to identify them.

"Connor, are you okay?" Aida looked at his bleeding arm with concern, her expression nervous.

While he had previously left a negative impression on her, after the recent events, she realized that he was trustworthy. She acknowledged that he had proven himself through his actions, even though she had deceived him multiple times before. His behavior during the crisis had shifted her perception of him.

"I'm more resilient than you'd think, and you seem to be quite resilient too. We should both be safe…" he replied with a calm expression.

She nodded in relief. "That's good to hear."

"Sir, I have some gauze here. Let me help you bandage your arm," a flight attendant hurriedly approached Connor, offering assistance.

"No need, I'll take care of it myself. You should go attend to other matters," he replied, taking the first aid kit from the flight attendant and starting to bandage his arm.

As he tended to his wound, Aida observed him with a mix of emotions. She felt she was unable to contribute much at the moment and realized that he had saved her life, even though their relationship had been strained. She had underestimated his character and capabilities.

"You seem quite skilled at this," she commented softly.

Connor chuckled at her words, then whispered, "You might not know, but before inheriting Steven's legacy, I did all sorts of jobs just to survive. I even worked as a hospital orderly, earning 80 dollars an hour. But the work was exhausting, so I switched to handing out flyers…"

"You've done such jobs?" She was surprised.

"Yeah, I've done all sorts of odd jobs. Unlike you, I grew up without my parents. I've managed to survive until now through my own efforts," he stated in a nonchalant manner.

"I never realized…" Her expression was full of disbelief.

Meanwhile, the flight attendant began to reassure the passengers.

Although the passengers had quieted down, the tension in the air remained. They knew that the shooter was on the plane, and their nerves were still on edge.

"Connor, what should we do now?" Aida whispered to him.

"Stay put. Don't do anything, just stay here," he responded in a low voice.

"Is that person still on the plane?" she continued to inquire.

"Yes, he probably bought two tickets and used a human skin mask. So he's currently in the economy class section. Here is the safest place for us. If you wander around, you might give him an opportunity. The best course of action is to sit tight," he advised.

"Okay, got it…" She nodded.

About ten minutes later, the police finally arrived.

Connor's expression became resigned upon seeing the police officers. He knew that they wouldn't be able to unravel the truth behind the incident.

The police quickly found a corpse in the restroom, which bore a striking resemblance to the middle-aged man the flight attendant had seen. They concluded that the individual had committed suicide.

However, he was aware that the man was just a scapegoat, and the real assassin was among the passengers. Even though he knew the truth, he chose not to interfere further.

When the police realized Connor was a victim, they found him and intended to take him to the local police station for questioning. However, he wasn't in the mood for such procedures. Additionally, he knew that getting off the plane would only complicate matters. Moreover, he was already well aware that the actual threat to Aida's life was Cielo. Even if the police investigated, what significant outcome could they achieve?

He called Rachel and quickly got the situation under control.

The police on the plane apologized to him once they understood his situation and removed the corpse from the aircraft.

After all these matters were settled, the plane took off again.

However, most of the passengers had already chosen to disembark and take alternative flights to York.

Connor was aware that the true assassin must have also left the plane, making the current flight the safest option. If he and Aida were to choose another flight at this point, it would take a long time, and who knows what might happen in the meantime.

An hour later, they safely arrived in York.

As they disembarked, Aida breathed a sigh of relief and turned to Connor, asking, "Are we finally safe now?"

"It's not certain," He shook his head gently and continued, "Who knows if Cielo might still target you?"

"What do you think we should do now?" she inquired anxiously.

"For now, let's find a hotel. Then I'll get in touch with the Collie family, informing them that you've been kidnapped and demanding a substantial ransom. We'll wait for Albert to bring the money and ensure your safety," he hesitated before speaking softly.

"Alright, I'll follow your lead," she agreed quickly.

Connor cast a slightly helpless look at Aida, silently noting her swift change in demeanor.

Knowing that York was the territory of the Collie family, he refrained from taking any rash actions and once again sought Rachel's assistance.

Rachel arranged accommodation for him and arranged for someone to pick him up.

By 5 PM that evening, Connor and Aida had arrived at the location Rachel had arranged for them.
