"Could it be that the assassin never boarded the plane in the first place? Is he planning to attack us after we land?"

Connor contemplated in his mind.

Instinctively, he stepped aside to let Aida in.

The middle-aged man stood up directly.

Immediately after, a gunshot rang out.

Since everything had happened so suddenly, Connor didn't have a chance to manipulate the bullet's trajectory using his aura.

However, he was fortunate. The man had aimed at Aida, not him. And due to his push, the bullet missed her but grazed his arm.

The bullet hadn't pierced through his arm; it had just grazed him, causing his arm to bleed, but the injury wasn't severe.

The entire cabin erupted into chaos.

Screams filled the air.

The middle-aged man's expression seemed a bit surprised, as he hadn't expected Connor to react in the midst of the situation.

But despite his surprise, as a professional assassin, he remained composed. Instead of attacking Connor again, he focused his attention on her and aimed the gun at her once more.

"Move!" Connor shouted urgently upon seeing the man with the gun, and with a strong push, he sent Aida towards the floor.

"Crash!"

Following his command, the sound of gunfire followed.

Due to the confined space, Connor couldn't change the bullet's trajectory in time using his aura.

However, in the next instant, he decided to manipulate the bullet's path.

The bullet directly pierced through the furniture in front of Connor, missing him.

The middle-aged man's expression changed slightly. He finally understood why his two disciples had failed earlier. Connor's abilities were indeed formidable.

The man pulled out a dagger from his belt and rapidly approached him.

With limited space within the aircraft cabin, Connor and the man were forced into close-quarters combat.

The man's martial arts skills were clearly higher than Connor's, giving him the upper hand from the start.

After kicking Connor away, the man didn't continue to attack him. Instead, he swiftly moved towards Aida's position.

Upon seeing the middle-aged man preparing to harm Aida, Connor quickly stood up and positioned himself between them.

"Kid, you're not my match. Get out of my way!" The middle-aged man shouted impatiently at Connor.

"I know I'm not your match. But if you want to kill this woman today, you'll have to get through me first," Connor replied in a low voice.

Upon hearing Connor's words, Aida felt a slight touch of emotion. She hadn't expected Connor to go to such lengths and not give up on her, standing in front of her instead.

"Have you gone mad?" The middle-aged man snapped irritably.

"Tap, tap, tap..."

However, at that moment, the middle-aged man heard a series of urgent footsteps.

He quickly glanced outside the plane, only to realize that the plane had already landed.

Upon hearing the gunshots, the pilot had realized that something was amiss and had immediately contacted headquarters, choosing the nearest airport for an emergency landing.

The middle-aged man knew that the police would likely arrive soon. He had already wasted too much time dealing with Connor.

If he continued to fight with Connor, even if he managed to kill Aida, he wouldn't be able to escape the plane.

With this realization, the man took out a smoke bomb from his pocket and threw it on the ground.

"Bang!"

A loud explosion echoed.

The entire cabin was instantly filled with smoke.

Connor quickly held Aida in his arms, worried that the assassin might take advantage of the smoke to attack her.

However, the assassin didn't waste any time and seized the opportunity to escape.

After all, he was hired by Cielo. If he failed, he wouldn't get paid. But if he got caught by the police, he would lose everything. So, sacrificing himself just for this one task wasn't an option.

During the explosion of the smoke bomb, he did have a 50% chance to kill Aida, but he wasn't willing to take that risk.

Thus, he chose the safest approach and immediately fled to the economy class section of the plane.
