Chapter 1768: There Is Only One Way
"Could I have overthought things?"
Connor couldn't help but mutter to himself.
"It seems like this man might not be an assassin after all," Aida whispered to him.
"It's not certain. Maybe he thought the timing wasn't right earlier, so he didn't make a move. We can't let our guard down!" he said in a low voice.
"You just want to take advantage of me..." She looked at his hand wrapped around her waist and spoke angrily.
"Who's taking advantage of whom? Didn't you strip naked and climb into my bed yesterday? It's not like I forced you," he retorted.
"Of course, something must have happened between us!" She couldn't believe she could do such a thing, so naturally, she wouldn't believe his words.
A few seconds later, they arrived at the restroom door.
She opened the door and was about to enter.
"Wait a moment!" He reached out and stopped her.
"What's wrong?" she asked anxiously.
"You need to think this through. If the assassin is in the restroom right now, the moment you go in, it's certain death," he whispered to her.
"Then you go in first!" Realizing Connor's intention, She quickly stepped back.
"What can I do by going in first? What if the killer is hiding above or below the restroom? Don't forget, airplane restrooms are accessible from the cabin, which makes it easy to hide either above or below. If that's the case, going in alone won't solve anything..." he calmly explained.
"So, what should we do?" She frowned.
"At the moment, there's only one solution..." he whispered.
"Don't waste time. What solution are you talking about?" she urgently asked.
"The solution is for me to accompany you inside. But rest assured, I won't peek. You can consider it. If you're still not at ease, you can go in alone, and I'll wait outside. If anything happens, just call for me!" Connor's expression was serious as he explained.
Aida seemed to find his words reasonable, so after hesitating for a moment, she said, "Come with me inside..."
"Why are you so readily agreeing this time?" he asked in surprise.
"In order to return safely, I've let you kiss me, touch me, and even... last night..." She took a deep breath and continued, "I've paid such a high price. I can't give up because of something like this. If the killer is really in there as you said, it would mean all my previous efforts were in vain."
She had already figured it out. At this point, as long as she could ensure her safety, she didn't care about anything else.
"If you had figured this out earlier, I wouldn't have needed to say so much. After all, I really don't intend to take advantage of you!" he said indifferently.
"Enough talking. Come in!" she urged in a low voice, eager to use the restroom.
He walked up to her, pushed open the restroom door with caution, and after confirming that it was safe, he entered. She hesitated for a moment and followed him inside.
However, she didn't notice that as she entered the restroom, a flight attendant passed by.
She witnessed them talking and then entering the restroom together.
The flight attendant found Aida's demeanor quite extraordinary and concluded that Connor might be some scion of a wealthy family. Otherwise, he wouldn't have invited such a beautiful woman to do something so daring in the airplane restroom.
However, the flight attendant was used to such situations on the plane and didn't choose to disturb them.
The restroom in first class was quite spacious. Connor stood in a corner, turning his back to Aida.
"Are you sure you won't peek?" she asked nervously.
"It's not exactly the right time for me to be peeking at you. If I wanted to, I had plenty of opportunities last night. Why would I choose to peek now? Do you want to use the restroom or not?" Connor's exasperation was evident in his tone.
She found his reasoning sensible and stopped arguing. She took off her pants and sat down on the toilet seat.
A few minutes later, he heard the sound of flushing and asked, "Are you done?"
"Yes..." she replied in a low voice.
Upon hearing this, he quickly turned around and glanced at her. This was the first time he had encountered such a situation, and her flushed face was quite unusual.
"Connor, let me make this clear. You can't tell anyone about this!" She threatened him anxiously.
"Tell anyone? Why would I go around telling people about this? Besides, even if I did, who would believe me? Even if I said I saw Miss Aida from the Collie family using the restroom, it's not like it's something to be proud of. I'm still Mr. Connor from Davenport, not some big pervert," he replied, his expression showing a touch of helplessness.
Aida gave Connor a casual glance, thinking that his words made sense. She also realized that even if this matter were disclosed, nobody would believe it, so she relaxed a bit.
"Let's go out!" he said in a low voice.
She pushed the door open immediately.
They walked out of the restroom one after the other.
However, the flight attendant who had seen them enter the restroom was still standing at the door. She looked at them in shock as they emerged and then checked the time.
"Less than a minute? That was really quick!" The flight attendant couldn't help but sigh, her expression complex as she looked at Connor.
He didn't notice the flight attendant's gaze. He continued to hold onto Aida as they walked forward.
Soon, they passed by the middle-aged man, but the man still made no moves, nor did he even glance at Connor. This only deepened Connor confusion.
According to reason, this man was the most suspicious person on the plane. If it wasn't him, then who else could it be?
