Chapter 190: Saving People
Chapter 190: Chapter 190: Saving People
The little girl behind Qiao Yi popped out her head, trying to hold back the fear in her heart, she yelled out, and retracted her head back behind Qiao Yi under the angry gaze of that woman.
"You little brat, spouting nonsense! Heartless little white-eyed wolf, even denying your own parents, huh! Watch how I won’t beat you to death!"
The woman gave the man a meaningful glance, and the two rushed forward together, the man grabbing Qiao Yi’s arm, while the woman reached out directly for the little girl behind Qiao Yi.
With their bare hands, their strength was still not enough to concern Qiao Yi, who kicked away the man holding onto her and ran into the airport with the little girl in one arm.
She had just caught a glimpse of that woman’s eyes, these two were definitely not any little girl’s parents, calling them child traffickers would be more like it!
The two never expected Qiao Yi to be so formidable. Seeing Qiao Yi running into the airport, they hurriedly chased after her to stop her.
"Help! There are child traffickers here kidnapping a child! Help!"
Qiao Yi screamed out loud, everyone coming and going at the airport entrance was attracted by Qiao Yi’s screams.
The man and woman chasing after her saw that things were turning sour and turned to run away. Qiao Yi stuffed the little girl in her arms into the arms of the airport patrol, threw off her high heels, and turned around to chase after the fleeing woman.
The man was dragging the woman along at first, but seeing Qiao Yi’s speed was too fast, he let go of the woman and ran off alone.
Qiao Yi launched a kick at the woman’s back. The two tumbled over at the airport entrance, and as the man was about to run out of the airport, Qiao Yi grabbed something nearby and hurled it at the man.
Perhaps Qiao Yi was just in luck, that object flew out and hit the man directly on the back of his head, and he stumbled to the ground.
Qiao Yi got up and ran over, kicking the man once more, making sure he had no strength left to run, then she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
This chase happened in the blink of an eye, before anyone could react, Qiao Yi had already pulled off her belt, binding the man’s hands behind his back.
"Miss, what is this..."
The patrol holding the little girl was a beat too slow, by the time he caught up, there was already a crowd gathered.
"These people are no good, I suspect they are child traffickers trying to forcefully take this little girl away. Shouldn’t you be investigating this?"
Qiao Yi took the little girl back from his arms, looking unflinchingly at the questioning patrol captain.
The patrol captain choked for a moment, looking back and forth between the man and woman being surrounded and pointed at by the crowd, and Qiao Yi who was softly comforting the little girl, suddenly unsure how to handle the situation.
"What are you still standing there for? What if those two manage to run away in a while?"
The little girl’s emotions had settled down, and Qiao Yi was just about to ask the patrol to help the little girl find her relatives when she turned around to see the patrol still foolishly standing there, not moving an inch.
Qiao Yi could not contain her anger. She wanted to return to Capital City, only to encounter such a troublesome matter, and now this patrol dared to drag his feet!
"Miss, even if we investigate, we need evidence. Is it right for you to strike at them directly like this..."
"What evidence do you want? Do you wait until the person is abducted before you provide evidence?"
Qiao Yi was almost amused by his absurdity. If she wasn’t holding a little girl, she would really like to shake the patrol’s head and see if it was filled with water!
"I’m very sorry, we will start our investigation right away. Please accompany us."
The patrol officer was about to say something else when another patrol officer came over and interrupted him.
It seemed this one was his superior. The officer nodded sullenly and had the man and woman taken to a separate interrogation room to verify their identities.
Once the two were led away, Qiao Yi followed the self-proclaimed captain into the interrogation room.
"Big sister, can you help me look for my sister? I’ve lost her..."
The little girl gripped Qiao Yi’s hand tightly, afraid that if she let go, some strange person would appear again to take her away.
Qiao Yi, of course, agreed to help, then turned her attention to the patrol captain walking in front.
The squad member had made a foolish mistake. When the patrol captain noticed Qiao Yi’s gaze, he awkwardly smiled, quickly instructed his subordinates to broadcast a message to find the little girl’s sister.
"Little friend, what is your name?"
"My name is Nana, and my sister is An Wei."
Perhaps it was the safety of the police uniform that gave Nana a sense of security. Nana seemed much more relaxed but still clung to Qiao Yi unwillingly to let go.
The man and woman were taken to an interrogation room. With Nana’s testimony and the airport’s surveillance, it was almost certain they were human traffickers, but it was still necessary to investigate whether they had any accomplices in the airport.
While watching the interrogation of the two, the patrol captain curiously scrutinized Qiao Yi, hesitating for quite some time before asking.
"Miss Qiao, how did you determine that these two were not Nana’s parents, but human traffickers?"
Nana appeared to be only seven or eight years old, and it wasn’t uncommon for kids of that age to be mischievous. However, it seemed from the airport’s surveillance that Qiao Yi had immediately protected Nana without ever suspecting the identities of those two.
"The watch on Nana’s hand is Diya’s new children’s watch from last year, valued at 38,000; the butterfly hairpin on her head is Sanglan Company’s featured jewelry this year, valued at 50,000; and the dress she is wearing is a priceless piece by master designer Ding Lan. Do you think a child like this would have parents like them?"
Qiao Yi touched Nana’s little head, every sentence she uttered left the patrol captain dumbfounded.
This... he didn’t understand the world of the wealthy!
Looking at Little Nana, who, although dressed prettily, didn’t stand out particularly, who could have imagined that the total value of various items on her could match a flat in a third-tier city!
A thought suddenly struck the patrol captain; instead of trying to kidnap Nana, the human traffickers might have been better off just stealing the watch and hairpin—they probably could have made more than from trafficking children!
"Big sister, how did you know this dress was made by Aunt Ding?"
Nana hugged Qiao Yi and whispered in her ear, big eyes filled with curiosity looking at her.
Qiao Yi’s gaze fell on the hem of Nana’s dress and pointed at a small orchid on it, winking at Nana.
Master Ding Lan’s creations are never signed, but each piece of clothing always includes some orchid elements.
Catching two human traffickers at the airport was a big deal that almost shocked the entire facility. The airport immediately went into a state of high alert, and all passengers had to undergo a reexamination before proceeding through the security check.
Qiao Yi cooperated with the statement-taking and was about to leave when she encountered a small problem.
