From Divorced to Dominant: My Ex Regrets Everything! -
Chapter 20 - Shocked Xu Na, Jiang Feng is Doing THIS Well?!
Chapter 20: Shocked Xu Na, Jiang Feng is Doing THIS Well?! Tearful Youyou, Jiang Feng Gets Angry!
Xu Na leaned forward, scanning the street. “Where’s your dad’s shop?”
“That bun place over there?”
Jiang Feng’s store still lacked a signboard. Xu Na assumed the nearly empty Fu Ji Bun Shop in the distance was his.
A smirk crept onto her lips.
Perfect.
With no customers there, she’d easily expose Jiang Feng’s lies to Youyou.
Plus, seeing him struggle without her felt satisfying.
No wonder he wants me back.
“No, Daddy’s shop is this one.” Youyou pointed at the snaking queue.
Xu Na’s smile froze.
“Impossible.”
“Look, that’s Granny Sun coming out with buns!” Youyou insisted.
Xu Na’s eyes widened in disbelief.
How?!
A new shop with this popularity?!
She knew Jiang Feng could cook, but this was absurd.
For an hour, she watched in growing shock:
Over 300 customers by midday
Relentless foot traffic
Insane profitability
Her business acumen did quick math:
Rent: ~¥15,000/month
Profit per bun: ~¥1 + porridge sales
Net profit this lunch: Thousands
Monthly estimate: ¥200,000+
A pang hit her chest.
Jiang Feng… is this successful?
Regret surged, if only they’d stayed married. She could’ve invested, earned more, kept his devotion…
“I’m hungry. I want to go back now,” Youyou’s voice snapped her out of it.
“We’re skipping afternoon plans? Today’s visitation day,” Xu Na said stiffly.
“Can I not go? You can focus on work,” Youyou whispered, shrinking away.
She doesn’t want me?!
Xu Na’s temper flared but, noticing Jiang Feng’s success, she forced sweetness:
“I’ll always be your mom. We’ll meet next week.”
As Youyou unbuckled, Xu Na reached for her hand, only for the girl to dodge.
Nearby elders spotted the tension.
“Youyou! Why are you crying?”
“Who’s this woman scaring our little bun girl?!”
Xu Na bristled. “I’m her mother.”
“Some mother!” Granny Sun glared. “Bullying a child in public?”
“So you’re the ex-wife who stole the house?” Grandpa He added.
Xu Na snapped. “None of your business!”
“It is when you traumatize the kid!” He fired back. “My daughter’s a lawyer, this counts as emotional abuse!”
A crowd gathered, muttering:
“That’s Boss Jiang’s ex?”
“No wonder he divorced her!”
Cornered, Xu Na softened. “Youyou, let’s talk at home, ”
“Granny Sun will take me,” Youyou said, clinging to the elder.
Defeated, Xu Na drove off.
At the shop, Jiang Feng washed basins while Rongshuang cleared tables.
The door burst open. Granny Sun marched in with tearful Youyou.
“Your ex harassed her across the street!”
Jiang Feng’s hands stilled.
Rongshuang rushed over, kneeling. “Sweetheart, what happened?”
Security flooded back. Youyou’s lip trembled, then broke.
“WAAAAH!” She collapsed into Rongshuang’s arms.
Jiang Feng dried his hands, voice gentle. “You’re safe now. Tell Daddy everything.”
Youyou hiccuped, blowing two snot bubbles.
“Pfft, ” The adults stifled laughs.
“You’re laughing! Daddy doesn’t love me!” Youyou wailed.
Jiang Feng schooled his face. “Never. Daddy was… thinking about something else.”
As Youyou recounted the ordeal, Rongshuang stole glances at Jiang Feng.
Does he still have feelings for his ex?
Granny Sun huffed. “Lawyer up! Cancel her visitation rights!”
“Daddy, I don’t want to see her,” Youyou begged. “One afternoon with her equals a week of scoldings!”
Jiang Feng texted Xu Na:
“If Youyou returns crying again, I’ll legally revoke your visitation.”
Xu Na pulled over, furious.
“She’s the problem! Acting like I’m torturing her!”
Jiang Feng fired back:
“Everything has consequences.”
“Did you ever comfort her? Show maternal warmth? You want the title without the work?”
“That’s not how life works.”
