Chapter 1598: Chapter 1159: Who Truly Represents the Star God?
"My Lord, tell the little angel not to kill him—this is getting interesting," Anthony quickly said, fearing that Emre might be obliterated by an enhanced version of Holy Light Flash.
Proliferators... are they proliferating people? No, they’re proliferating increments. Only increments you can use are meaningful; if you can’t use them but your enemy can, then it’s not increment anymore.
The Star Progeny Master keeps countless measures in place to guard against Heroic Spirit infiltration, even allowing wandering gods like Ange to spread faith freely just to seize ecological niches.
Because divine faith has a center—all faith converges on the gods. Kill the god, and it’s all over.
But Heroic Spirits are decentralized. Each of them is both the beginning and the end, the origin and the inheritor. In other words, these increments already have owners.
Kvada! What was thought to be a loyal follower turned out to be an enemy. The individual didn’t truly worship him but treated the Star God as a Heroic Spirit figure to venerate.
No wonder they were so fervent, yet he couldn’t sense any Faith Elemental Force. He originally suspected it was due to the lack of God Status.
But even without God Status, the Star God Group has developed for so many years—it should’ve ignited the Fire of Faith by now.
The Star Progeny Master felt utterly humiliated. Flicking his wrist, he hurled the command "Take a Bite" and said, "Go. Don’t engage them head-on; first devour those hundreds of thousands of intelligent Undead."
"Oh, oh, oh, brilliant! I’m going to bite them to death, bite them to death, and then bite them more," it said, referencing two different targets. Given its wraith intelligence, this was already a decent effort to communicate.
Just as it was about to rush out, the Star Progeny Master kicked it. "Take a detour—circle around to the other side. Don’t let them notice."
The Star Progeny Master couldn’t believe he had to issue this kind of explicit command. He had always thought that if he ended up with such a foolish subordinate, he’d kick them to death on the spot. Yet now, he didn’t dare to kick. Worse still, he had to coax carefully. Damn it.
Even without much emotional intelligence, the Star Progeny Master could clearly sense what it meant to grow...
"Hehe—" The Wraith drifted in the opposite direction, preparing to take a wide loop to infiltrate the Undead City.
They thought this move was stealthy. The distance was too great after all—the Wraith was just a barely visible wisp of smoke. If even the Star Progeny Master couldn’t see it clearly, he doubted others could.
Unfortunately, Ange didn’t see it but calculated it. Something was leaving the Star God’s body, floating away in the opposite direction and looping around in a wide arc.
However, this "arc" was too massive. Halfway through its detour, it was still just a segment of a curve. Meanwhile, Ange’s anomaly was noticed by Negris, who asked, "What are you looking at?"
"Something... is drifting away." Ange replied.
Anthony quickly realized something. "The Undead City—they’re targeting the Undead City. They probably have actions planned against Undead City. We need to send people back to defend it."
"I’ll go. Staying here without a fight is killing me with boredom," the Monarch eagerly volunteered.
Initially hoping to slaughter a few Fierce Spirits, he hadn’t expected the little angel to be summoned. He wasn’t brazen enough to compete with her, so he might as well slip away and start a new scene.
The Monarch was indeed the most suitable to return. The Undead City was filled with his own people, making it easier to respond through Soul Contact. Anthony only had time to add, "Your Majesty, keep it stealthy. They’re being stealthy; we should be stealthy too. Let’s give them a scare when the time comes."
"Oh, got it," the Monarch liked this idea. Hiding behind Ange, he waited for the energy shockwave from the little angel’s outburst and used it to tear open a Space Rift and slip through.
The little angel erupted but didn’t unleash the enhanced Holy Light Flash because Anthony had shouted just in time for Ange to forbid her from killing. So, instead, she forcefully spread her wings, launching countless light feathers that curved like torrential rain toward Emre—Angel Flame Feather Bullets.
The Void was almost entirely filled with her overwhelming flame feathers. Each flap of her wings sent wave after wave of light feathers outward.
Emre, who had just summoned Star God Possession, was utterly stunned by the bombardment of flame feathers. Instinctively, he activated Star God Bodyguard to withstand the initial wave.
The first wave was indeed endured, but as soon as he opened his eyes, the second wave was already upon him.
Emre didn’t dare to resist further and dodged to the side. However, the little angel had long since locked her gaze firmly on him. As he dodged, the flame feather bullets traced neat trajectories, pursuing him and carving massive bullet trails.
Seeing this, Negris and several others couldn’t help but recall familiar memories. "As expected of her lineage; isn’t this identical to the low-level magic storm you used back in the day?" he remarked.
Indeed, it was identical to how Ange used low-level magic to sweep away the Holy Spirit Angels back then—except this time, magic was replaced with light feathers. Light feathers were actually the simplest attack method. But why hadn’t the little angel used them before? Because they were wasteful.
Poorly conserved light feathers were scattered everywhere, not only wasteful but also slow to recover. But now, with the Little Ghost backing her, she had plenty of Holy Light to spare. Rat-a-tat-tat...rat-a-tat-tat...
Without cover or obstacles, evading dense light feathers in the Void was nearly impossible. Emre fled wildly, but at least ninety percent of the light feathers struck him. Though none were fatal, they quickly drained his strength.
What’s more, it wasn’t just his strength being depleted. After several waves of light feathers, protective lights started glowing on humans aboard nearby airships—group damage sharing.
"I get it. The little angel is trying to exhaust the Heroic Spirit group’s shared damage chain. Wait—she just arrived. How does she know about the Heroic Spirit group’s shared connection? Did you tell her?" Negris slapped his waist in surprise.
Ange shook his head. He hadn’t had the chance to mention it. She’d been furious when she arrived. Luckily, the fight distracted her; otherwise, Ange would likely have been shredded by her rage.
"Could she have learned it from Red Star and Walker? Red Star and Walker were beaten by her too," Anthony speculated.
"Pfft, she fights everyone, doesn’t she? That unruly child," Negris laughed and cursed.
"Keep your voice down, unless you don’t care about your face? She beat you the most in the past," Anthony said in a low voice.
"Am I supposed to fear her? I’m not the Little Yellow Dragon I used to be. Watch me wreck her!" Negris retorted, arms akimbo, whispering defiantly.
Anthony rolled his eyes. If you’re so fearless, why whisper? Ignoring him, he turned to Ange and said, "My Lord, could we invite Red Star Walker Ulsman over?"
Ange nodded, then tilted his head.
Negris translated, "Sure, but why bring them over? To let the little angel beat them up?"
"No, haha," Anthony chuckled. "This Origin Sword Saint belongs to the Heroic Spirit System, not the Faith System. Lord Nage, do you know the biggest difference between the two systems?"
"The Heroic Spirit System doesn’t have specific Yuanli nodes. In other words, they can’t distinguish true Star Gods from the Faith Elemental Force network. They probably only have one or two Star Gods on their side. We have four. So, guess who they’ll believe represents the true Star Gods?"
