Chapter 1531: Chapter 1092: Swallowing Enhancement

"What? You pulled your true body over here?" Negris asked in shock, his eyes wide.

Ange nodded. He was certain he’d dragged something just now, and the most likely candidate was his true body.

"Really? You actually pulled your true body over? How did you manage that?" Negris asked excitedly.

Right now, Ange’s true body was no longer just a mere skeleton. Having devoured all matter and energy, the Ancient Godlight, and created an entire Dimensional World, Ange was now the embodiment of everything in the Chaos Plane, forming an incremental cycle.

In other words, Ange’s true body was the Chaos Plane itself, constantly expanding. And now, such a colossal entity had been dragged over?

After repeatedly confirming, Negris rubbed his hands together in eagerness: "This is great. Hurry up and get over here. I’ve been stuck for so long. Bring your true body here, and let’s smash the Great Ruler. When will it arrive? Can it come tomorrow?"

The Mourning Undead Soldiers and Gulalata exchanged a glance, their eyes full of terror. Smashing the Great Ruler? What kind of monstrous thing was this guy’s true body?

Ange shook his head.

"You don’t know? It’s not going to take twenty years like Little Ghost, right?" Negris asked.

Ange shook his head again. Definitely not. Little Ghost had traveled on its own and relied on anchor points. But because Ange’s true body’s energy level was too high and the anchor points here were too weak, the process couldn’t be sped up.

"So it won’t be here tomorrow, huh? How boring," Negris said in disappointment.

Though Negris spoke of boredom, no matter what, the movement of Ange’s true body was a major event capable of reshaping Void dynamics, enough to force Anthony to revise all his plans in response.

As a result, Gulalata’s significance plummeted, becoming almost irrelevant.

"I was originally planning to help you reclaim the position of Speaker for the Leo Faction, but forget it now. You can go back as if nothing happened," Anthony began to ’dismiss’ Gulalata.

It might have been better had he not made those remarks, but after hearing them, Gulalata froze in place. "You can help me reclaim the position of Speaker?"

Gulalata had basically given up on regaining power. Even though he had the strength equivalent to that of the Sword of Truth, six Mourning Undead Soldiers, and a group of loyal followers, all of that was far from enough to threaten his uncle’s position.

First of all, his own strength—while comparable to the Sword of Truth—was rather disheartening. He found himself unable to withstand even a single move against a Goblin before being subdued and stuffed into a sack.

As for the Mourning Undead Soldiers, he had six of them, but so did his uncle. Recently, though, for reasons unknown, those six Mourning Undead Soldiers had disappeared, yet his uncle still commanded forces far stronger than those Undead Soldiers.

"You don’t even know what your Mourning Undead Soldiers were sent to do?" Anthony asked in surprise.

"I don’t, do you? What were they doing?" Gulalata asked back.

Anthony did not answer and instead remarked with a sneer, "Wow, you’ve really been sidelined hard."

With no hope of reclaiming the Speaker’s position, Gulalata had settled on a fallback plan of finding a place to retire. The Sea of Omniscience was his intended domain for a peaceful retirement. As a Prince, he had the right to claim a Plane as his domain.

"So you’re planning to claim it as your domain? Then a one-fifth tax rate is already low," Negris said, suddenly enlightened.

Everything in the domain belonged to the Lord. The inhabitants were essentially serfs who, after keeping just enough food for survival, had to surrender the rest to their Lord. Gulalata imposing only a one-fifth tax was already considered merciful; even the kindest Lords would typically collect fifty percent.

Unfortunately, he had been completely deceived. The Sea of Omniscience was not a Plane that could be controlled. Still, Gulalata likely had visions of conquering it himself; otherwise, he wouldn’t have brought six Mourning Undead Soldiers and a fleet of airships.

But if he truly harbored such ambitions, he should never have allowed the silver coin and Anthony near him. One could only lament his foolishness.

"What, you actually want to reclaim the Speaker’s position?" Anthony asked.

Gulalata nodded quickly.

"Helping you is not impossible, but our plans have changed. Power shifts within the Leo Faction no longer hold much meaning for us. Tell me what you already have, and think about what you’re missing. Only then can I decide how to help you." Anthony kindly led Gulalata away for some earnest (or manipulative) ’hospitality.’

Negris rolled his eyes, muttering under his breath, "Damn Godman."

In just a few words, the situation had reversed. From "I need you to do something" to "I can help you do something," the entire dynamic of agency had shifted. What initially required Gulalata to control the Leo Faction now became "I’ll help you reclaim the top position."

As he was silently griping, a loud clatter echoed. Turning around, he saw a piece of iron ingot drop from Ange’s hands.

"What are you doing? Why are you suddenly playing with iron?" Negris asked, puzzled.

Ange picked up the iron ingot and tossed it to Durken, then pulled out a gold ingot, placing it between his hands. With a forceful tug, the area around the gold ingot dimmed slightly. When the brightness returned, the gold ingot had shrunk by a noticeable amount.

Durken, having caught the iron ingot, was momentarily stunned, as the ingot felt drastically heavier than normal.

Then, as he watched the change in the gold ingot in Ange’s hands, Durken drew a sharp breath. "Swallowing Enhancement?"

Weapons and materials for alchemical crafting could be strengthened in various ways, including but not limited to inlaid Magic Patterns, Soil Forge Burn, Gem Enhancement, Piercing Enchantment, Swallowing Enhancement, Magnetic Modification, and Primordial Crystal Plating.

The last three methods required the use of Origin Power. Durken himself couldn’t perform them and had to seek Ange’s assistance whenever they were needed.

Swallowing Enhancement utilized the immense gravitational pull of the Power of Devour to compress materials, thereby improving their properties.

However, as previously mentioned, for the Power of Devour to have any effect, it had to be strong enough to create a Devouring Abyss. Otherwise, it could only twist space slightly, like fragments of subordinate Origins—essentially useless.

With just a simple tug, Ange had strengthened the gold ingot. The force behind that tug surpassed even the power of a Devouring Abyss?

After tossing the enhanced gold ingot to Durken, Ange seemed to find the process addictive, repeatedly pulling out various materials for compression and enhancement.

Not all materials could be strengthened, though. Most Crystal Stones shattered immediately under compression, except for Black Crystal, which remained intact.

Metal materials, on the other hand, lent themselves well to compression, provided their purity was high enough. Compressed metals consistently gained enhanced properties, though not without exception. For example, Mithril crumbled into powder after compression—apparently, the process made it brittle enough to disintegrate.

Eventually, Ange pulled out a bottle of the Source of Water, a silver-liquid-like substance. After compression, it solidified into a shiny silver sphere.
