Chapter 1530: Chapter 1091: I Won’t Partake in Such an Outdated Ritual

The Divine Seal, also known as the God Imprint, is a rare artifact. It serves as a medium for communication between gods and their followers, the ’proof of identity’ for deities. Without a God Imprint, faith elemental force offered by believers would lack a target—after all, among a throng of believers, who could tell which strand of faith belongs to you?

Ange’s War and Peace God Status was acquired by capturing a God Imprint and branding it onto a Blank God Statue. Such an item is exceedingly rare and, first and foremost, requires a fallen god.

How could a God Imprint emerge from Gulalata’s body?

"This must be a chosen one of the gods! No wonder he’s so young yet possesses the strength akin to the Sword of Truth. A god-chosen individual—truly, incredibly rare!" Anthony exclaimed, clicking his tongue in amazement.

A fallen god most likely vanishes and transforms into a ruinous site. The idea of a God Imprint being attached to a living person was something even Negris had never encountered—though similar scenarios often appeared in the Holy Code or knight novels.

Gulalata could hear every word of the discussion, and the more he listened, the straighter his back became. When he heard ’incredibly rare,’ he couldn’t help puffing up his chest: "Yes, yes, I am the one-in-a-million martial genius, a god-chosen individual, quite remarkable indeed. So hurry up and release me!"

"Pfft..." Negris erupted into laughter. "If you hadn’t declared yourself a god-chosen individual, you might have seemed impressive. But now? You’ve cheapened yourself. I am a god; he is a god; a god-chosen individual is just someone we picked, right?"

At that, Negris gestured toward Ange. "Furthermore, if you’re the god-chosen one, but he could simply pull your God Imprint out like that, then what does that make him? Divine punishment incarnate?"

Proclaiming oneself a god-chosen individual in front of a group of gods is akin to boasting of being the greatest swordsman apprentice in front of a Sword Saint.

Frankly, Ange’s ability to capture God Imprints is far more extraordinary—his skill has surpassed the limits of what the God of Knowledge could comprehend.

In other words, in areas where gods have fallen, Ange can easily retrieve God Imprints and restore them using Blank God Statues. The ability feels almost like cheating.

Gulalata thought about it briefly and resigned himself to pledging an oath of loyalty.

Ange glanced at the God Imprint and then at the Mourning Undead Soldiers. These soldiers’ soul contact seemed to be linked to this very God Imprint.

This was also a puzzling phenomenon. A God Imprint inherently lacks the ability to form soul connections. If the connection was established during the god’s phase of existence, then the Undead Soldiers should have perished alongside the fallen deity.

In other words, the soul contact must have been forged during the God Imprint phase—a phase where the imprint acts solely as a mark and lacks subjective agency. It could only have been done manually.

Who would link a God Imprint to a plethora of soul contacts?

"Your father?" Negris inquired.

Gulalata responded weakly, "Probably. I did hear the steward mention that my father performed some sort of ritual on me during my childhood, after which I could command them."

"A ritual? That must’ve been a God Imprint inheritance ritual. How was it carried out? Can you perform it?" Negris pressed.

Gulalata replied, "I can’t."

"You can’t? Then who can? Your father? Or the steward?" Negris queried further.

"My father has passed away, and the steward doesn’t know either. The method has been lost. Otherwise, my uncle would’ve taken them long ago," Gulalata explained.

Negris exclaimed in surprise, "Lost? If the imprint can’t be transferred, wouldn’t the soldiers perish alongside you when you die?"

Before Gulalata could answer, the Mourning Undead Soldiers had already begun nodding fervently, their expressions filled with dread as they glanced at the imprint in Ange’s hand.

This was precisely what they feared the most. Originally immortal, their fate depended entirely on the continuation of the imprint’s inheritance. At most, they’d serve a different master.

Yet, within the brutal power struggles of the royal court, when one brother killed another to seize the throne, the older sibling had already transferred the imprint inheritance to his son. Because the son hadn’t learned the ritual, the legacy ended there.

Unless something changed, the moment Gulalata died would inevitably be the moment the Mourning Undead Soldiers were laid to rest alongside him.

"Do you know how? You immediately recognized it as the God Imprint inheritance ritual. Surely, you must," one Mourning Undead Soldier nervously inquired. His tone had unconsciously shifted to respectful.

"I don’t. Why would I know such a backward ritual?" Negris dismissively waved his paw. As all the Mourning Undead Soldiers displayed grief-stricken expressions, Negris continued, "We just extract the imprint. What need is there for rituals? Primitive."

The Mourning Undead Soldiers were suddenly enlightened. Indeed, why bother with rituals? The God Imprint had already been captured by Ange—wasn’t that a transfer in itself?

Ange took out a Blank God Statue and branded the God Imprint onto it. Then, with a sweep of his consciousness, he declared, "God of Flames." He tossed it to Anthony casually.

The God of Flames was utterly unremarkable. These elemental deities were almost universal across all planes. The faith of sentient beings originates from the phase of primitive nature worship. In those times, their reverence extended to fire, water, mountains, seas, the sun, and other natural phenomena.

From primitive worship arose totems; totems evolved into religions, which defined gods. Undoubtedly, in the initial phase, gods defined by natural phenomena vastly outnumbered others—like the God of Flames, Water God, God of the Earth, Sun God, and so on.

The God of Light belongs to the advanced conceptual phase, encompassing not merely light itself but also hope, aspiration for beauty, purification, and the refinement of ugliness—a highly complex definition.

Ange’s God Statues are primarily advanced conceptual deities, leaving him uninterested in elementary-level deities like the God of Flames.

Tossing the statue to Anthony, Ange reached out both hands into a folded spatial state—one hand extended into the Holy Kingdom, while the other reached into the World-Ending Magic Formation. Feeling about, Ange braced himself and pulled with strength.

A narrow spatial rift opened before Ange, nearly forming a Swallow Abyss. Ange released his grip.

Adjusting slightly, Ange tried again, pulling hard. This time, nothing visibly shifted in front of him, but Ange sensed that he had torn open something.

Relaxing, letting go, adjusting again, Ange reached with his left hand and grabbed firmly. It felt as though he had hooked onto something.

His right hand followed suit, both arms shaking their catches to confirm stability. Finally, Ange used the anchors to pull backward—Spatial Slingshot.

The Little Ghost on his left hand suddenly swelled in size, and the Kram on his right hand underwent the same transformation. Both latched tightly onto Ange’s arms, their forms bloating tenfold, stretching long and taut, as if being dragged by an immense force.

Slowly, slowly, Ange began to sense something being hauled toward him. Using Little Ghost and Kram as anchors, it seemed to be propelling itself to Ange’s location.
