Chapter 1509: Chapter 1070: Forget it, I Don’t Want to Think About It Anymore

In the pitch-black void, faint and imperceptible distortions swirled as Lilianna carried Ange and the others quietly onto the Plane of Plants. In a soft voice, she said, "This is the territory of Lord of the North Crown."

After speaking, Lilianna prepared to descend to the plane, but Ange stopped her: "Wait."

Negris furrowed his brows as he looked at the plant-covered plane ahead and said doubtfully, "Something feels odd, but I can’t pinpoint what. Are these plants strange? Those plants are Demon Vines, aren’t they? They should be able to grow in environments like this."

Demon Vines are plants capable of thriving in extremely harsh environments, with a life force as tenacious as demons themselves. Even in the Flame Demon’s territory, amidst scorching lava, traces of them can still be found.

"Not plants. They’re alive," Ange said.

"Not plants? Alive? Hiss— so insidious. If any enemy tries to infiltrate and lands directly on them, wouldn’t they be found immediately? What are these things?" Negris asked.

Ange scratched his head: "Something like Shay."

"Like Shay? Ancient God? Manifestation of intent?" Negris muttered with a frown.

Among all the Ancient Gods, Shay was a particularly eerie existence. They survive by consuming fear. Of course, they eat flesh as well, but meat only grows their bodies—fear is the only thing that strengthens them.

The things resembling Demon Vines—could they be an Ancient God similar to Shay? An entity that feeds on emotions?

"What should we do now?" With something like this blocking the way, they had no means to infiltrate quietly.

What to do? Ange thought for a moment but couldn’t come up with any good ideas.

Ah, forget it. He knocked on the Little Sapling on his head, tapped the Little Ghost in his hand, then jumped out—transforming mid-air—and dashed forward—BOOM!

Ma Wa Ni was first startled awake by an overwhelming aura, and the next thing it knew, a "meteor" slammed into its body. At the point of impact, a ferocious shockwave rippled outward, tearing its limbs into shreds wherever it passed.

When Ma Wa Ni swept its intent over, it realized the thing that had struck wasn’t a meteor at all—it was clearly a humanoid figure, pitch-black and reflecting a crystalline sheen.

Almost as soon as Ma Wa Ni’s intent touched him, the dark crystalline figure caught its intent, turned, and looked in its direction.

Ma Wa Ni’s heart skipped a beat: "What a powerful intent! Help—"

Before it could call for help, the Black Crystal entity had already leapt forward, flung its hand toward Ma Wa Ni’s position, and hurled a massive Energy Orb. Then, opening its Big Mouth, it swallowed Ma Wa Ni whole...

The entire sequence of events happened in an instant. Not only did Ma Wa Ni fail to react, but Negris and Anthony were also caught unprepared. All they heard was an explosive rumble, followed by silence as the Plant Plane returned to tranquility.

At the epicenter of the impact, a sapling began to grow rapidly. Beneath it, the shattered debris was pushed upward, bound together by tree vines, and quickly petrified. In the blink of an eye, the fragments had transformed into a Giant Rock.

"This... this... this Dead Skull! Acting without any warning." Negris, at a loss for words, could only grumble.

Ange’s recklessness wasn’t exactly a gamble. With the protection of the Little Ghost and Little Sapling, Ange’s current strength had been restored to near-primordial levels—the strongest it could be short of regaining a Primordial Body. Ordinary enemies posed no threat to him.

However, Ange had always disliked fighting. His sudden action startled everyone, but no one doubted his approach. When it came to combat, Ange—armed with the knowledge and experience inherited from the Dragon God—was unmatched by anyone present.

The plane had settled into calm. Before long, several flying vehicles emerged, heading toward the Giant Rock created by the Little Sapling. One of the vehicles carried a Human Mage who yelled, "It’s a meteor! A meteor crashed here! Didn’t Ma Wa Ni respond at all?"

"It probably wasn’t a fatal threat, so there was no reaction. But even if Ma Wa Ni had responded, what could it do? You think you could communicate with it?" another passenger replied.

"True. Only Lord of the North Crown can communicate with it. Even if it did say something, we wouldn’t understand. At most, it could flash a warning, but against this kind of meteor strike, a warning wouldn’t be useful anyway," the Human Mage agreed.

"Alright, let’s go report back—lift the alert—it’s just a meteor," the companion replied.

The flying vehicles turned to leave. The Human Mage mused aloud, "Do you think it might not be a meteor, but rather a powerful being using the meteor as a disguise to infiltrate here? Landing and taking Ma Wa Ni down instantly so it couldn’t give an alert?"

"Haha! Your imagination is running wild. If such a being existed—capable of ’instantly’ taking down Ma Wa Ni—would it matter whether it gave an alert? We wouldn’t be able to fight it anyway," the companion replied with laughter, emphasizing the word "instantly."

"True, haha. There are too many powerful entities in the void. Sigh, our formidable array can only hide in the distance, hoping to avoid detection. If found, even Lord of the North Crown might not be able to protect us," the Human Mage sighed.

"Exactly. There’s no shortage of terrifying powers. Back when I studied magic, I thought Magic Tutors were incredibly strong. Now that I’ve become one, there are so many grotesque creatures out there—it makes me fear dying one day without even knowing how it happened," the companion lamented.

The two continued their melancholic conversation as they piloted their vehicles back along the way they came.

Once they were gone, Ange gestured toward Lilianna still hidden in the void. The Crystal Dragon, carrying the group, quietly descended.

"That actually worked? Are these people really that stupid? Do they honestly believe this was a meteor strike?" Negris scoffed.

Anthony took a deep breath: "What else could they think? Would they really assume a collision with the force of a meteor was an infiltration attempt? Do you believe that?"

Negris considered for a moment. True, if there’s an earthquake, his first thought would be that it’s an earthquake—not that someone caused it. Who’d infiltrate with such destructive force? Besides, with an Ancient God guarding the place, how could they disable the alert entirely?

This was one of the rare occasions Ange had used the Dark Crystal Transformation. Usually, he transformed into the Dragon God instead. Unlike the previous Dragon God or Rock Transformations, his current Dragon God and Dark Crystal Transformations weren’t ranked hierarchically anymore—they simply had different advantages. The Dark Crystal was sturdy, while the Dragon God offered more skills; both consumed the same amount of energy.

"How do we get inside?" Negris whispered.

Ange walked to the Giant Rock created by the Little Sapling, pushed it aside, and revealed a hole supported by tree vines underneath.

The vines extended further, reaching Ange’s head and forming a small sapling.

Negris gave a thumbs-up: "Seedling, you’re amazing! You even created a passageway for us."

The Little Sapling cheerfully swung its True Leaves, broadcasting an enthusiastic message: Grow—stronger—grow—stronger—

Negris immediately felt his bones crackling, as if expanding, while an overwhelming hunger surged through him.

"Stop! Stop!" Negris quickly shouted, grabbing a few bottles of Essence Liquid to gulp down. Only then did he let out a long breath: "I just praised you, and now this? Trying to starve me to death?"

Ah—ah—Little Sapling replied. With Lilianna remaining outside, the group followed the sapling’s path into the depths of the plane’s interior. Before long, they reached the central location.

Following two chains, Ange’s gaze immediately landed on a suspended iron ball.
