Chapter 1466: Chapter 1027: I’m Going to Create a Few New Plane Consciousnesses
Everyone gathered quickly, and Anthony exclaimed in surprise: "You created the first Plane Consciousness? How did you do that?"
Negris was also astonished: "No way, you went looking for eggs and found a whole hen instead?"
"Who are you calling a hen!!" The Goddess of Dawn, who had been a bit nervous from the crowd’s attention, instantly bristled upon hearing the word "hen," glaring furiously at Negris.
"It’s a misunderstanding. What he means is that you seem unremarkable at first glance, yet turn out to be a stunningly beautiful goddess. He’s a Giant Dragon, closely related to chickens, so he finds hens particularly lovely—he’s actually complimenting your beauty. Of course, that’s assuming the Plane Consciousness was indeed created by you." Anthony earnestly explained, while subtly shoving the Little Fat Dragon aside as he squeezed next to Negris.
Anthony’s smooth words significantly improved the Goddess of Dawn’s mood, prompting her to say: "Honestly, I’m not entirely sure how I created Karmas. Oh, Karmas is the Plane Consciousness I created. I was originally a consciousness born within the Crystal Barrier, naturally endowed with its powers. Do you guys know what the Crystal Barrier is?"
Anthony nodded: "I know—it’s the barrier separating worlds. Can the Crystal Barrier actually give rise to consciousness?"
"Indeed! The Crystal Barrier creating consciousness is quite strange, but somehow, I came into being. Those people called me the Crystal Barrier Goddess, although I didn’t possess a God Status. Eventually, they stopped calling me a goddess and referred to me as ’Crystal Wall Girl,’ which sounds terrible." The Goddess of Dawn babbled, sounding as though she had been bottling up her thoughts for ages and finally had someone to listen.
"Wait, wait—who are ’they’?" Anthony quickly interjected, noting her meandering storytelling style. He felt compelled to steer the conversation; otherwise, she’d talk in circles forever, much like the Cowman Aunties, who could discuss a single sentence all afternoon, full of words with minimal useful information density.
"Oh, ’they’ are Crystal Wall Mages, mages who specialize in studying the Crystal Barrier. They’re kind of like those guys." The Goddess of Dawn pointed at a charred and mostly disintegrated robe lying on the ground—the remains of the Bald Priests who had sacrificed themselves.
"Like them? Are these people also Crystal Wall Mages?" Anthony asked.
The Goddess of Dawn shook her head: "I don’t know. Their clothing style is similar, though the colors differ slightly."
Anthony dragged over Samus and received his explanation: "We are People of the Boundless, from the Land of Infinity."
"Land of Infinity? Where is that?" Anthony asked.
"It’s what you call the Boundless Space Hole," Samus replied.
Anthony, puzzled, questioned: "The Boundless Space Hole is completely empty—how do you guys survive there?"
"Ha! Your understanding of the Boundless Space Hole is too superficial," Samus sneered.
Anthony raised his wand and asked, "Then what is your understanding of it?"
It was only then that Samus remembered his status as a captive, panicking as he pleaded, "No, no, no, I don’t understand it either! Ow—"
After interrogating Samus heavily, Anthony whispered to the others: "It seems to be the same as the place where the Great Speaker created the Body of Mourning—it’s all inside the Boundless Space Hole."
Negris speculated: "Could they be the forces behind the Great Speaker?"
Anthony shook his head: "Probably not. They seem more likely to be the enemies the Great Speaker is trying to guard against. Remember I once mentioned how the Great Speaker allows us to spread faith here in order to secure the ecological niche for Heroic Spirits and prevent these people from developing further."
"However, it looks like Heroic Spirits require a massive population base to influence a Plane, which would be easy to detect. In contrast, Plane Consciousness is far more discreet and sudden."
Negris slapped his hip in realization: "Makes sense! If a large group of people collectively worshiped a Heroic Spirit, there would definitely be noticeable traces. The Great Speaker must have agents planted throughout the Planes and would quickly discover it. Whereas Plane Consciousness requires only a small group of mages—it’s much more covert."
Anthony nodded: "It’s possible both factors are in play. Spreading faith to fill the ecological niche could work because a group of displaced rogue gods’ followers are easier to deal with than crazy Heroic Spirit warriors. Additionally, it prevents the emergence of Plane Consciousness. Using this as a clue, I believe I’ve figured out the conditions required to birth a Plane Consciousness."
"What conditions?" Negris looked confused. "I didn’t figure it out—how are you the God of Knowledge anyway?"
Anthony didn’t answer and instead declared casually: "We are also People of the Boundless."
It was technically correct—they originated from the Boundless Space Hole, qualifying them as People of the Boundless. But was it really equivalent?
These Boundless people required decades of flight like Little Wraiths or needed to abandon their Primordial Body, as even the mighty Void Origin souls couldn’t come directly. Was it fair to group them together?
Anthony returned to the Goddess of Dawn and asked: "Since these individuals come from the Boundless Space Hole, does that mean you were also born there? What happened afterward that led you to create a Plane Consciousness?"
"I’m not entirely sure—I can describe it for you. There was a massive Crystal Barrier wrapping around a rainbow-colored Plane. The moment I was born, I saw it. Those mages were dancing, performing rituals, and chanting loudly atop it."
"At that time, I had just come into existence and didn’t understand human language. I couldn’t comprehend their chants. Looking back now, they seemed to be reciting: ’Ancient Light of Creation, your radiance gives life to all things. Extract a fragment of your light and create anew...’ Or something like that."
Negris couldn’t help but laugh: "What now? Light of Creation?"
The Goddess of Dawn, thinking she had made a mistake, hesitated: "I think so. Creation, life, light—all connected, isn’t this what Light of Creation means?"
"Yes, yes, I just thought of something else. Please continue!" Negris chuckled awkwardly, relieved it was merely a translation issue. For a moment, it had feared the actual Light of Creation had arrived.
The Goddess of Dawn shot it a suspicious look before proceeding: "At that time, I couldn’t understand their chanting—I only felt cold. I kept wanting warmth and tried hard to get closer to the rainbow-colored Plane. Eventually, I succeeded."
"Then those mages noticed me and were terrified, trying to drive me away. But they were too weak to hurt me, so I ignored them and kept attempting to move closer to the Plane."
"The mages came daily to talk to me. After some time, I learned their language. They wanted me to leave, claiming I’d interfere with the Plane Consciousness. Back then, I didn’t understand what they were talking about, so I didn’t budge—I just focused on making the rainbow-colored Plane warmer."
"One day, it warmed up. The mages were furious, crying and yelling that I had stolen their Plane Consciousness and disrupted their plans. They had intended to create a consciousness to control the Plane, only for me to snatch it away. So, it turns out I created the Plane Consciousness."
At this point, the Goddess of Dawn looked conflicted: "Afterwards, the mages started burning themselves alive. The rainbow-colored Plane immediately began to struggle. I could sense its internal consciousness experiencing immense pain. After a while, this consciousness suddenly gave me a God Status, tore through space, and expelled me."
How she subsequently used a single God Status to become the Goddess of Dawn, overseeing marriage, is a separate story with no connection to Crystal Barrier powers.
"Alright, I’ve figured out how to create a Plane Consciousness," Anthony concluded.
"How is it created? I didn’t even grasp the key points—tell me so I can make a few new Plane Consciousnesses to rescue my Karmas!"
PS: Celebrating the New Year feels like a battlefield. Why does eating squid roe make me sleepy? Is it because of purines?
