Flash Marriage: Shrewd Wife, Devious Husband
Chapter 241: The Accusation

Chapter 241: The Accusation

The next day, Tony was in his office. He checked the time. It was eleven in the morning. Usually, his wife sent him some snacks, mostly fruits at that time. He missed her already.

He asked her if she knew anything about Beth’s interview, but he got nothing. He had put one of his people to investigate it.

He leaned on his chair throwing the files on the table. He was bored doing the same stuff over and over. People loved his speeches and he looked forward to his campaign speeches. He loved on a platform talking to people.

*Bang*

The door of his office opened with a bang. Tony opened his eyes. No one had the guts to do that when he was in the office.

His lips curved seeing the person in front of him.

Of course... Who else other than his wife would have the guts?

His secretary was standing by the door with an apologetic smile. Tony waved his hand at her and gestured for her to close the door and leave. His wife looked angry and he wanted to deal with her.

"If I hear anything about you cheating on me, I will ensure you will never see me or our kids again," Marcella slammed her hands on the table.

"Careful," Tony leaned forward. That looked like it hurt. "Are your hands, okay?" He looked at her concerned.

Marcella was still fuming. "Remember it," she said and sashayed her way out of the room.

The secretary was still holding the door and seeing Marcella walking with a large gait, she held the door open for Marcella.

"Birdie, where is my morning snack? I am hungry," Tony rushed behind. He didn’t get the head or tails of what Marcella said. But he didn’t want to let her go.

"Don’t follow me!" Marcella turned and pointed her finger at him.

Tony blinked his eyes and held his hands up in a surrendering motion.

"What happened, darling?" Tony followed her. He was not scared of her. He was worried.

Marcella threw the magazine she had in her purse at him. Tony caught it and looked through it. He didn’t have to look for long. On the front page was a news he thought was probably related to her anger.

The crown prince of some realm had confessed in their national media that he had cheated on his wife and the mother of his two sons with his first love who also was a married woman.

"That’s nasty! Who would disrespect their wife in public like this? What is nobility if he doesn’t have common sense?" Tony said while walking behind her.

Maybe because he said the right thing, Marcella stopped. Tony quickly got closer to her. They were standing in the hallway and many heads peeked from behind the door to watch the odd incident between the couple. They rarely see their boss’ wife raise her voice at him.

Marcella turned and gently patted his cheek. "I’d rather be a widow than be the pitiful wife who got dumped by her husband for another woman. Don’t forget that," she said, her voice getting deep.

"Yes, Ma’am!" Tony gave a military salute. "Roger that, Ma’am."

Marcella couldn’t help but smile seeing Tony pretending to be an obedient puppy in front of her.

"What tree will you plant on my unmarked grave?" he asked as she walked.

"You’re planning on getting buried alive?" Marcella asked back. She couldn’t help but smile seeing her husband not even bothered with her giving death threats to him in front of his colleagues.

"No, Ma’am. I am not." Tony laughed. "I’ll dare not break the trust you have in me. I will never break your heart. I will never set a bad precedent for our boys."

Marcella let out a deep breath. "I know. I love you for that."

Standing in front of her car, she stood on her tiptoes and kissed him. Tony deepened the kiss.

"You didn’t bring me snacks?" Tony asked with a pout.

"Here," Marcella picked up the bag she had and passed it to him. "I made a cake for you. I’ll send you lunch today."

"You are lovely," Tony smooched on her lips.

Carrying the bag, he rushed inside. He was so hungry. He was so used to having snacks on time and now he couldn’t even miss it one day. His wife was spoiling him too much.

Marcella saw Tony walking in and her smile reduced. Her eyes shrank with determination as she walked into the legal department of Tony’s office.

The next day, everything was normal in the Crawford household. But everywhere in the world, people were talking about the scandal in the royal family. Everyone was accusing the crown prince of immorality and calls for his abdication were loud.

As expected, the crown princess who was called the "People’s Princess" garnered sympathy from all over the world.

Marcella however couldn’t get into that gossip. She didn’t want to comment about another marriage. She had learned this indifference from Tony. She had tried to care about other people’s marriage but that had only brought her troubles and she never bothered with it anymore.

She had her marriage and five sons to look after. She neither had the time nor the energy to bother about other people’s lives.

Marcella did unconsciously look at the phone often. She received some calls, but not the one she wanted.

In the evening, Marcella tuned in for the live interview with Beth. Tony hadn’t returned yet. Beth was dressed spectacularly as usual.

The host asked Beth about a recent movie of hers and of course, the topic veered off to the hot topic—the royal scandal.

Beth was very articulate. Marcella saw Beth’s charm; even the way she spoke was different to how she normally spoke. She was a star, all right? A big one!

The moment Marcella was waiting for happened. Beth was so smooth as she led there while talking about the cheating crown prince. She talked about supporting the crown prince saying that no one knew how his marriage was and why he leaned on his married ex-lover’s shoulder.

The way she spoke was so touching that everyone listening was feeling bad for the crown prince who was probably in an abusive relationship and as he yearned for love, he met his first love again and formed a friendship that led to more than that.

And next, it came...The host asked how she could sympathize with the crown prince when he was in the wrong.

"It happened to me and that’s why I cannot judge. It’s hard unless one walks on their shoes," Beth said with a bashful smile. Her eyes were glimmering in the warm lighting and her read lips were plump as she bit them coquettishly.

"He was a politician; I do not want to name him. He’s in a very important position with a beautiful wife and five sons. He’s... We had a pretty good time. For him, I was a..." she smiled and bowed her head while wiping the corner of her eyes.

"I knew I was a getaway person for him, but... I really fell for him hard..."

Marcella’s heart started to pound and she fisted her hands. Beth might not have named Tony, but it wouldn’t take anyone time to figure out the prominent politician with five sons. There was only one.

Her husband!

"Ah, you really came for my husband," Marcella smirked.

The TV station cut to a break. Marcella looked at the phone hearing it ring.

It must be her husband.
