Flash Marriage: Shrewd Wife, Devious Husband -
Chapter 200: Admiring Her
Chapter 200: Admiring Her
Tony sighed adjusting his sunglasses. Marcella was too excited to leave but she was repeating the notes to Mary and the security guards.
She’s been exhilarated ever since she saw the tickets. Yesterday, she called her friends one by one in the guise of "just chatting" only to tell them that she was going on a long vacation with her husband. Even he understood that her main intent was to brag. When he asked her about it, she tried to pass it off as something else—that she was worried they might not find her and worry for her.
Yeah!
Indeed, the world women live in and the thoughts that go on in their brains are different.
Well, he shouldn’t be surprised. It is a popular saying—men are from Mars and women are from Venus. It was stupid of him to think that he knew the woman he married.
As if all the commotion she caused running around the house "fixing" everything was not enough, suddenly at night, she realized that she didn’t have any clothes to wear on the vacation.
Yeah, right!
He noticed that her closet was almost empty after she had packed at least seven suitcases just for her clothes alone. She had separate suitcases for her hats, purses, jewelry, and shoes.
It was enough for her when she was traveling alone, but since she was traveling with him, she somehow found those clothes unfit for vacation. He could only sigh. With all the luggage she had packed, he thought they should buy a private plane for travel. Would they even allow this much luggage on the airplane?
Only after he promised that he would get her new clothes was she able to relax. He had to convince her to leave some of her clothes at home. They now only have ten big suitcases to carry. Holding on to his promise of getting new clothes, she was able to sleep.
Tony couldn’t help but smile looking at her. He loved every part of her, and yeah, even the little annoying parts of her too. She made his life interesting.
"Marcella, come on! It’s getting late!" Tony called her.
It looked like she would carry the house with her if it was possible. It was not like the house would run away if someone was not looking after it all the time. The gardener knew how to take care of the garden even in her absence and the bills would get paid on time.
"Yes, coming!" Marcella turned and smiled at him.
Tony placed his hand on his heart.
Divine! How can she be this perfect? There is no fault in her!
Thankfully, they reached the airport on time. Joey was a little nervous on the flight at first, but with nothing to see except for the vast darkness around, he fell asleep. Tony kissed Marcella’s head as she was leaning on him. With the baby on one side and his wife on the other, he had everything a man could wish for.
He booked the ticket for Scotland for a reason. He wanted to visit his grandfather’s hometown. His grandmother used to say that the Crawford family had a gravesite and his grandfather mentioned that he wanted to get buried there when they got married. His grandfather’s heart was with his hometown although he lived in another country. Unfortunately, he couldn’t be buried there as their family’s situation was not good.
Now that he had a good life, Tony thought that it would be a better idea to have his grandparents buried together in the place of their preference.
Tony also wanted to visit that place. Cynthia had told him that his grandfather’s family used to own a castle and only the ruins stand there now. He wanted to take his wife there.
Not everything belonging the Crawford family had gone to ruins. The ring survived, and the bloodline too. He wanted to bring his wife there.
When he broke that news to Marcella, she got more enthusiastic than him. He expected that. She was someone who directed her life toward his happiness. He didn’t think that kind of love would exist but he saw that love in her actions.
He could never love her like she loves him.
It was a small town—Ayrshire. They booked a hotel in the nearby city as it wouldn’t be easy to travel with a gazillion suitcases. With Joey, they took a cab to the town. The cab driver didn’t know much about the town and he dropped them near the Church. That appeared to be the center of the town and they decided to ask someone about the Crawford family house and the graveyard.
They talked to someone and he pointed them in the direction. It was hard to understand them. Although they spoke English, their accent was so hard to understand. They had to rely on non-verbal communication. On the way, Joey got restless as he had soiled his diaper. There was a small pub and Tony asked her to have a drink as he changed Joey’s diaper.
Marcella asked for a beer. When the old bartender placed a tall glass in front of her, she was stunned. She didn’t think that she would be able to finish it but she had help.
She picked up the glass and only then she noticed that the bartender was staring at her ring. Marcella wondered if he knew about the ring or whether eh wanted to steal her ring. His stare was very intense, she didn’t know what to think.
At that time, the guy who told them the way got inside the pub. The bartender greeted him and they both talked loudly about something. Marcella had a feeling that they were talking about the newcomers to their town.
"Do you know about the Crawford family?" she asked. She then asked them about Tony’s grandfather.
Their eyes brightened and she talked more. It took her some attempts to understand what they were saying but by the time Tony was back, she had sarted to understand them a lot better.
"That’s him! That’s Antony Crawford. He inherited the ring from Cynthia Crawford," she pointed at him.
The men got excited and hugged Tony. The bartender was too excited to meet Tony.
"They are your cousins, Tony. His name is Nathan Crawford and his father was your grandfather’s cousin," Marcella said. That was what the bartender told Tony but he couldn’t understand him and she had to translate it to him.
Tony smiled and hugged him back. But his eyes were on his wife.
Seeing her bright smile, he was amazed. He couldn’t understand a single word of what they were saying. She couldn’t understand much earlier either but just in five minutes, she was able to understand them.
Amazing!
