Chapter 150: A Bouquet of Roses

Chapter 150: A Bouquet of Roses

Marcella waited by Tony’s office in the evening. He should not think that he can be the only one giving her a surprise. Joey was with his nanny back in their house. The entire evening was open for her.

She almost barged into his office when he was late but she didn’t want to disturb him while he was working. He didn’t tell her much but he was busy with something.

In the blinking lights and the sea of red around, Marcella watched the couples walking hand in hand. She used to get jealous of them in the past; she even got angry when she heard the giggles and laughs.

But this time is different, isn’t it?

After waiting for almost an hour, Tony stepped out of the office. It was snowing that day and Tony stood with his hands in his pockets and looked up the sky, letting the snowflakes fall on his cheeks.

Marcella’s heart clenched to see him so weary. He was getting home tired a lot these days and she thought that was worse. She didn’t know that was him after trying to gather himself before getting home.

My poor baby!

If it was her, she would have wanted to go to bed after a warm bath. But she didn’t think Tony would like that kind of refreshments. He was not letting her rest in the nights these days even though he was tired. He said that their togetherness energizes him like the water of a spring after a tiring hike.

She covered herself with her coat and got out of the car and walked to him. In the sea of people, he was still standing still like an immaculate marble statue. The snow collected on his shoulders and some of them melted on his forehead.

"Tony," she stood on her tiptoes and kissed his cheek.

"Birdie?" He raised his brows out of shock and his lips curved up out of glee. "What are you doing here?"

Marcella wiped his face with her handkerchief. "I wanted to take you on a date," she said. "Will you do me the honor?"

Tony chuckled. He was lost for words and all he did was just stare at her for almost a minute.

"But first," Marcella leaned closer to him. Her cheeks were blushed red out of happiness.

"I’ve got you a gift."

"A gift?" Tony was shocked.

Marcella didn’t expect a grown man to jump in glee but the smile on his face was enough to tell her how excited he was.

"Hand," she held out her hand.

Tony immediately placed his hand palm up on her hand.

Marcella looked at him with a smile as if he should know what he should do next.

Tony closed his eyes. The grin on his face didn’t reduce even a bit.

Marcella placed the piece of metal that had a little bow tied to it. Tony opened his eyes.

"Keys?" he looked at her. "For what?" He took a closer look. "Car? You bought me a car?" His voice got loud out of excitement.

Marcella held his hand and brought him to the shiny new car parked nearby.

"Your gift, my love," she did a slight bow.

Tony held her shoulders to stop her from bowing too deep. Of course, he wouldn’t let her bow in front of him. He did so without even taking his eyes off the car. Marcella couldn’t contain her grin.

He likes my gift!

"Happy Valentine’s Day, Tony," she said hugging him.

Tony hugged her and kissed her head. "You didn’t have to do this," he said. Even through the thick coat, Marcella could feel his pounding heartbeat.

This man had made her happy plenty of times and she was glad she could give back at least a little.

"Wait... Today is Valentine’s Dady?" he held her shoulders and looked into her eyes.

Marcella smiled. She figured he would have forgotten. It didn’t matter. He was busy and so he forgot. It’s fine because she made plans.

"I’m sor~"

Marcella covered his mouth just as those words were in his mouth. She didn’t want to hear him apologize for this simple matter.

"Take a drive in your new car, Tony," she led him to the driver’s seat.

Tony shook his head and opened the door for her. "I don’t want to be..." He mumbled the rest of the sentence.

Marcella chuckled and got in. The car was warm as she had the engine running until some time ago.

Tony rushed and got in the driver’s seat. She thought he would check the dashboard first but he turned to her side and held her hand. "Birdie, I didn’t mean to forget. I remembered until yesterday but~"

"You’re not going to ask me how this car got here, Tony?" Marcella asked.

She truly didn’t mind him forgetting. The more he felt sorry, the more she got sad. She didn’t want to feel sad though.

"You drove it here?" Tony raised his brows.

"Yes," Marcella nodded. "It was snowing and there was a lot of traffic. I thought I couldn’t but I pushed through. I didn’t want to scratch your gift. Maybe that’s why I~"

Before she finished, Tony pulled her closer and kissed her. Everything she did perfectly showcased her love for him. He was touched.

Marcella clutched his collar and deepened the kiss. She wouldn’t have gotten the drive to get the car safely here if it was her car. She wanted to let him know that.

Tony let her go and Marcella took a couple of breaths to collect herself. Still with his warmth lingering on her lips, she whispered in his ears.

"Buy me a rose and tell me that you love me, Tony," she said.

He was feeling guilty that he forgot Valentine’s Day. All she wanted was a flower and his confession once more. She didn’t want anything more.

"Of course," Tony kissed her once more.

He rushed to the roadside flower shop and Marcella watched him with her hands on her cheek. No matter how many times she looks at him, she wouldn’t get bored of his handsome face.

He got the flowers from the shop. Marcella saw the dozen red roses in his hands and her face went red.

She truly was happy with a bouquet of roses. What more would she want? She had everything thanks to her husband.
